Creating Rogues in Tecmo Grey Cup

I really enjoy the Tecmo Grey Cup hacks and I have seen some discussion of trying to incorporate rouges into the ROM, which would be amazing.

 

I am new to hacking and have been mostly just doing stuff with rosters and adding set commands via TSBTool, so I don't have the expertise and deep knowledge of programming or the ROM's architecture itself, so I guess I am asking two questions:

 

1) How does TSB calculate scoring (touchdowns, field goals, extra pts)? Is there a way to edit this, or does the rom simply detect whether an attempt is successful?

2) If it applies, is there a way to get the rom to "attribute" a single pt to missed fgs or punts that end in touchbacks? I know this isn't precisely what a single score is in Candian football, but it might be an interesting sort of resolution for the rom.
