The classic NES sports title, updated for the 2018-9 NFL season! Enjoy this version with updated rosters for all 32 NFL teams. Player ratings are kept to the original game’s scale and the game features updated team uniforms and logos as well. The game includes various changes to the gameplay with this edit.

I'll try it out, see how it works. Thanks for the tip! I went with the nickel back in the LB1 spot because of how Tecmo handled Tony Blayock on the Browns.

 

I had a small update tonight, some last minute roster changes, uniform number edits and a change to the Pro Bowl rosters.Enjoy people!

I started to fall down the rabbit hole of trying to edit defensive reactions and lost my way this offseason. It just seemed odd to have a db at the LB2 spot but the LB1 rushes or covers RBs most of the time. I will be play testing it this weekend, looking forward to seeing how the change will affect COM vs COM games..

 

And to anyone out there, please keep the feedback coming. I plan on having a year end release come playoff time so until then let me know what you all think!

FYI, in case anyone is interested, attached to this post is a text file of all the edits done with TSBTool including all the set commands installed. Please note some of the hacks installed in this game were done using an .ips patch. I've also been working on a spread sheet that I use for player rankings. I'll be posting it up once I make it a bit more user-friendly. I hope this helps anyone who wants to dip their toes into editing the game. 

 

Also, if anyone want to edit the game I posted in any way (include/exclude hacks, edit players, etc.) you want to use the vanilla version to edit in TSBTool, then re-apply the hacks via TSBTool and the .ips patches with something like Lunar IPS. The "Push/Pull" hack is a huge piece of code and once installed will make it so whenever you edit a NFC West player the game will glitch and become unplayable once a game kicks off.

It's out there somewhere. Unfortunately, l doubt you'll ever see the code shared with the TSB community. What incentive is there for people to share it when there is money to be made?

      Huge Blitz fan, I own all the blitz games for N64 and have gotten to know the subtle differences through the years.
       
      Blitz 2000 for me was the best installment.
       
      The original game (99) was only 2 player and Blitz 2000 had 4 player which was key. Also the sprinting is slower in 2000 than 2001 or special edition. The slower movement meant your QB could run to the outside for about 10 yards in 2000. In 2001 you could run 25 yards easy each play with the QB. 2000 made you get creative to get first downs, making it a balanced game between running some and passing the rest. You could run the whole time in 2001-- it got silly.
       
      MOST IMPORTANTLY THOUGHT, BLITZ 2000 WAS THE ONLY GAME ONSIDE KICK WORKED THE WHOLE GAME. in 2001 onside kicks didn't work in the second half-- it was a weird glitch that killed the game. In great games that were close and you don't have the onside kick option late in the 4th it would suck that reason alone would make me go back to 2000.
       
      I have been on the NFLBlitzfans website-- but its all pages about hacking and way to complicated for me.
       
      All I'm looking for is the ROM that I can play on SixtyForce on my mac. A downloadable link-- Is it out there?
       
      Any help at all would be huge! --

      Just adding a refresh of a mod on NHL 95 (2020 season update as of Jul 2nd, 2019) Modded all the rosters. But huge thanks to the following guys who did 98% of the work
       @kingraph , @wboy, @slapshot67, and @smozoma up front, as just about all of my hacking knowledge has come from them. Since, updating the rosters through NOSE isnt the hard work that these guys have done.
