Tecmonster's TSB 2017 cover

Recommended Posts

Scheduled release date:  September 6th

New for the 2017 game (so far):

1 - minimum COM punt distance = 50% of meter (by bruddog)

2 - play tweaks

3 - player rating tweaks (more polarization in HP . . . more RB's with high end HP, more DB's with high end HP, but same number of players with low end HP). For instance, Kam Chancellor now lays the wood with a 75-81 HP, instead of sporting a middling 56 HP, but cover specialists like Terrance Newman still can't tackle, and carry a 13 HP.

3 - possibly, drone defenders programmed to spy on mobile QB's (by xplozv)

. . . would love to add maximum QB throwing distance based on arm strength but, so far, no dice.

This is funny.  I clicked on the topic, prepared to say "X is a nice choice, but what about Antonio Brown?  He deserves to be on the cover."  Well played, Monster.

Oh, and a recommendation... If Riley Dixon makes the team (Denver) as the punter, you NEED to make sure his hitting power is much higher than your average punter.  If you're not familiar with him, Youtube is your best friend.  In Syracuse, Riley Dixon jokes are taking over for Chuck Norris jokes.

"When Riley Dixon punts the ball, the only reason it comes down is because God threw it back."

"Congratulations to Riley Dixon for drafting the Super Bowl Champions as the team he wants to play for."

Well, it would have been Aaron Donald, the #1 player in the NFL last season according to Pro Football Focus, but I didn't want to place a defender on the cover in two consecutive years (I used JJ Watt last year, who was PFF's top-ranked player from 2014-15).  Antonio Brown was PFF's top-ranked offensive player.

cant wait, i look forward to the tecmonster roms the most out of all of them. glad to see the DBs are getting a bit of a boost, the only thing that frustrated me before was the frequency at which kam chancellor would struggle to bring down some of these RBs and WRs.

since the extra point is moved back in the actual nfl, could this be a possible tweak added to the game? and perhaps an option to go for 2?

Well, until a fully functioning 2 point conversion hack is released to the public (which would include COM logic for when to go for two), I don't think I'll change the spot for the extra point kick.  My reasoning: since the COM doesn't aim its kicks, a much longer XP will result in more missed XP's for the COM, and more cheap victories for humans in MAN vs. COM matchups.

My favorite rom every year but I can't support a steelers cover.  Awful choice, worst hair ever, coming from a fat slow bald man.

And, I hope you add your player ratings pdf file again too.  Love that.

Good point. Boy that's the one thing missing from TSB that would make it topple all other games by a country mile: a fully functioning 2 point conversion hack.

that, and a "switch sides every quarter" hack, and a "max QB throwing distance based on arm strength" hack.

xplozv has created one where a drone defender will spy on mobile qb's, but I'm not sure if it's done yet.  I really like that idea though, since it will help tip the scales back toward pocket QB's and not give mobile QB's in TSB such a massive advantage over their slower colleagues.
