chucknbob
So I travel a lot for work, and I'm trying to find a way to take my ROMs with me. I know the simple answer is to load them on a laptop, but my company laptop is locked down and I don't own one of my own to carry around (I own a desktop). I usually play on my Wii, but it seems like a lot of setup for a couple of nights. Does anyone have a suggestion on a cheap solution to hook up ROMs to a TV?Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
buck
hey, regarding said laptop, have you tried running a NES emulator solely from a USB flash drive? I'm pretty sure FCEUX will work like this. Edited August 22, 2015 by buck kamphuna8

bgboud2
Nestopia will run off a flash drive but depending on how locked your laptop is you might not be able to install the directx update. Alternatively, you can pull out the hard drive and swap in your own (with an OS installation)
chucknbob
FCEUX worked great. Now I just need a usb controller and I'll be in business. Any suggestions on the best controller?Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Edited August 22, 2015 by chucknbob
Knobbe
Alternatively, you can pull out the hard drive and swap in your own (with an OS installation) If you need to go that far, you're better booting off a USB Linux distribution and using an emulator through there
chucknbob
It's booting off my usb drive without any issues. I've got a couple usb controllers ordered through Amazon, and then I'll be back in business. Thanks for the help. bgboud2
If you need to go that far, you're better booting off a USB Linux distribution and using an emulator through there Depends on how many games you want to play, much beer you can drink while you install an OS, and if you are willing to bootleg XP or 7.
