the best byte to mean "skip to the next byte"?

Recommended Posts

If I'm in the MIDDLE of a player instruction and have an irrelevant byte (for example, as a result of replacing a three byte command with a two byte command) what should I use in its place?  In my testing lately, I've been using E4 (as long as the real E4 has already appeared in the line) but I don't know if that might cause a problem at some point.  FF?

not FF!

have you tried 00?

I haven't but you might give it a shot and see, since there is nothing assigned to it according to the command document.
