Eric21ND
Any Baseball Simulator fans here? Having played around with this game for a number of years, I have basically devised a way to incorporate real players into the game with their seasonal statistics coming out surprisingly accurate. On top of the realism, it's just fun to play, especially with other people. I've played a number of full (165 games) seasons with friends and just AI. In our play we’ve developed a few scales, charts, and formulas to best achieve accurate baseball statistics that are comparable to real life player stats. To begin with we use real stats and real players and convert that into the game. All you need to know is the players real life stats for whatever particular year you wish to recreate. I guess my question is does playing a season with real players and realistic stats appeal to anyone? DFM
vegas
I haven't played much with Baseball Simulator but your ideas sound very interesting. If you haven't done so already you may want to reach out to member "keithisgood", he's a big fan of that game and he's made soem GREAt updates/hacks to it. Check out the 2014 verion here: http://www.keithisgood.com/2014/04/baseball-simulator-2014_24.html Knobbe and DFM

Eric21ND
Better yet, check out his 2014 ROM here on T-Borg! http://tecmobowl.org/topic/60177-baseball-simulator-2014-nes/ Thank you, I've seen that and applaud his work. I'm mostly interested in the SNES version of the game though.
Tiffani
I'm interested. The SNES version was actually the first baseball game I ever played. I quite enjoy keithisgood's game, but I'd also be interested in the SNES version as well.

Tiffani
I'm sorry, I couldn't get it to work. It's probably more because I'm not good with computers and technology and things like that.
joelcsuh
The only game I've played more than the NES and SNES versions of this game is Tecmo Super Bowl (NES and III SNES). I like the NES version better except the game sims take too long. For a while I was so good at fielding on the NES version that the only hits I would give up were home runs. I understood the appeal of Baseball Stars but always thought this one was better.
keithisgood
Hm. I would bet the SNES version uses the same stats. If I ever get free time ever again, i'll dig into the rom and have a look.

If I ever get free time ever again, i'll dig into the rom and have a look. That would be awesome Keith! Do you think there's a way to modifiy the SNES version so it has all Major League teams with updated 2015 rosters? I usually play with 4-5 other players and we end up having to make one or two computer teams to play against in the Ultra League. It would be rather amazing to have every team on there with their stats and current players ready to go.
Eric21ND
Let's see if this works, since that attachment isn't working for some people. Have to “Guess-Timate”. But great control like Clayton Kershaw and high strike out totals like David Price is a decent judge of curves. The best pitcher (Cy Young Winners) in the majors that year should probably get max curves and drop.* Max for Right Curve = 15 Max for Left Curve = 15 Average pitcher should have about a 5 Right & 4 Left Give more Right curve if they are right handed, and more Left Curve if they are left handed.F = DROPCan’t measure this either. * Max for is Drop = 10 Average pitcher should have 2-3 dropSTAMINAInnings / 4.7 = StaminaExample: David Price 248 / 4.7 =
joelcsuh
I figured I'd bump this thread instead of starting a new one because it does have to do with this game, sort of. I'm an over-the-hill volleyball player. The one thing I can still do is serve. Anyway before I throw the ball up in the air, I hear the "chirp, chirp, chirp" sound the game makes when a pitcher is cycling through ultra pitches, and because I can serve the ball four different ways, it makes sense to me. Am I the only one on earth who does this? I guess so. Anyway, I figured at least one other person would be amused by this.
