I do long for the Big 8.  That was the last time we had a decent FB coach.   :(

Chadron State (small NE college) had Don Beebe and Jay Novacek was from Gothenburg, NE (played for WY).

I would guess Penn St, USC, Miami, and OU had bunch of guys too.  I'm just way too lazy to look them all up though.

USC recruited Marcus Allen to play safety out of HS, but they already had Lott and Browner so moved him to RB.  Talk about Tecmo legends!

USC recruited Marcus Allen to play safety out of HS, but they already had Lott and Browner so moved him to RB.  Talk about Tecmo legends!

That specific USC team is one of the most loaded teams in history. The 1979 Trojans started Tecmoers Joey Browner, Ronnie Lott, and Dennis Smith in the defensive backfield (Jeff Fischer of Titans/Rams fame was the other DB). Marcus Allen was the starting FB blocking for Charles White (not a tecmoer). And they ran behind Anthony Munoz and Bruce Matthews.

They went 11-0-1, beat #1 Ohio State in the Rose Bowl and didn't win the national title. 33 years later that's still an absurd outcome.
