For example, I know Webster Slaughter doesn't fit, so Tecmo put W. Slaughter. Anyone know what the limit is?

16 total characters for the name is the longest possible including the spaces or periods in the name. Daunte Culpepper is the exact longest you can use. I happened to use T Houshmandzadeh in a rom I did.

Marion Barber III (which is what he's been referred to on tv this year...as well as nfl.com and espn.com's rosters) is 16 characters (including the spaces) same number as Daunte Culpepper

Adrian N. Peterson apparently now is the longest you can put in...it worked for me (with 18 characters...also including the spaces)...maybe there's longer that we haven't thought of yet...

The editors accept the letters but when you get a cutscene during game play then the extra letters above 16 cause glitching (not necessarily harmful just not correct)
