Things to expect in real life based on a 20 year old video game with updated players

  • Patriots are going to air the ball out with Wes Welker putting up almost an MVP performance
  • Giants run more of a balanced offense with Brandon Jacobs stepping up
  • Victor Cruz is going to be involved in the game winning drive
  • The Patriot’s hopes will be crushed by Justin Tuck
  • This should be a video game like performance from both teams in which offense isn’t a factor

Alex Smith to Vernon Davis Tecmo-ized

This game was so back in forth that it was playing on ESPN Classic 1/2 hour before it was over.  There were a lot of great moments in this game (including the QB Eagles Run 4 executed perfectly by Alex Smith).  However, here is your game winning pass that continues the 49ers great turnaround season.  Thanks again, Mr. NFL

I can imagine that if you’re dusting off the old Nintendo to play some Tecmo Super Bowl this weekend, it’s possible it could go a little something like this.  In case you’re wondering, this version of the game doesn’t display QB Eagles as a “white guy”…it’s just a little creative editing by drunken idiots.  Isn’t that what X-mas is all about?

Tecmo Bowl Throwback out on the Ipad/Iphone

Prepared to be underwhelmed….

Did you know before they came out with Fast and Furious 5 that they had made all those other sequels?  This is a port of Tecmo Bowl Throwback for the PSN/XBOX, which was a remake of Tecmo Super Bowl for the SNES which was a port of Tecmo Super Bowl for the NES.  The big difference is that you have a touch screen instead of a controller…which should make things like hitting an open receiver easier as well as having your running back not weave or having your quarterback run into the offensive line to be sacked.

At some point we’ll throw down the $7.99 to review this thing (can you buy used I-Apple apps on Ebay?) so until then enjoy the review and the video made by a guy who doesn’t know how to play Tecmo from Toucharcde.com Until then, you’re going to need to enjoy Fast and Furious IV the game on your own.

How Mario Bros: The Movie should be done

This isn’t so much Tecmo related as it’s Nintendo related.  At the great SXSW movie festival they have what are called “Bumpers”….simply a fun short movie played before the actual movie.  This particular one takes the story of Mario and puts a “reality” spin on it.  Enjoy.

All-Time great Tecmo Video: Crazy Bo run

In case you haven’t seen this (you’re probably the only person on the internet considering it’s 900k+ views), it’s been the most popular Tecmo video.  Watch Bo Jackson in all his 75 MS glory run circles around a hapless Patriots defense (the Colts would have been worse), time and again like a man among boys.  Watch the greatest video game running back of all time almost score, get bored, run back to his own end zone, and torture the Pats until the quarter ends.

While this thing has been doctored a bit (paused, slow motion) it’s not all that hard to reproduce if you have a little patience.
