DongQuixote
Hello Tecmo faithful!I just got done playing a season only running the ball with Joe Caravello of the San Diego Chargers (allowing punting, FGs, and returns by other players). It was ABSOLUTELY the most exciting and entertaining season I have ever played and I cannot wait to find other ways to switch it up. (Thanks to the Proehl reverse thread for the idea btw)Playing with an ass-terrible RB was a great learning tool and promoted some pretty bizarre strategies that I had never thought of before. If you have a thumb of iron, I would strongly urge you to try it (and post your results)! So what methods have you heard of / used to make a season interesting? Field goals only? Defensive scores only? I'd love to hear what other fun challenges there are! Donnie Dohnson
Donnie Dohnson
Dong, you gotta be hard up for a challenge, for one. Try playing a season with the Cardinals without Johnny Johnson.
drake
Yeah, I went 19-0 with Pitt without running an offensive play. Def TDs, FGs, Safeties and Kick/Punt Returns was enough. It's pretty easy the first 10 weeks or so, then gets more interesting. Take a worse D for a bigger challenge I guess. TeCmO_sUpEr_BoWl
Try getting to the Super Bowl using only the qb sneak up the middle with Grogan on offense. Nothing is more frustrating. DongQuixote

He was a refinery operator for a while and now I believe he is a Maintenance Supervisor. He was also part owner or owned the liquor license for the Stick and Stein restaurant around the way from the refinery on Highway 1. Last time I talked to him he told me how much he disliked Dexter Manley while on the Redskins. Used to go against him in practice every day being Dexter was a DE and he was a TE. Said Dexter got away with what ever he wanted to, while guys like him were held accountable for everything. I guess that is what you call Talent Tolerance. Any way when I saw the name it made me think of that. TeCmO_sUpEr_BoWl and DongQuixote

That sounds agonizing! Thanks for the suggestion! I'll get right on that after my Johnson-less Cardinals season!

DongQuixote
Just remember: Roy Green is the "qui" to your existential wet-dream. Ron Wolfley and Timm Rosenbach absolutely dominated, but the Lombardi taste bitter without Johnny Johnson :'( Donnie Dohnson
Neerrm
Do a season as the Eagles, but you're only allowed to score on Andre Waters pick-6s.

Donnie Dohnson
Dong, another idea to tug on: Try taking whatever team you most recently won on OG TSB with, grab a rom for each year thru the present-day, and give it a tractor-pull, seeing how many championships you can win with the same team Edited July 12, 2015 by Bolt

vikingmoe02
My brother and I tried a few different things growing up to make it more challenging. Obviously, the "no offense" challenge is a very good one, as are the "one play" ideas like Proehl reverse and others. We did a combination of some other things: Play with all offensive back-ups inNo scrambling with the QB passed the line of scrimmageNo controlling a defender in the secondaryNo controlling a defender in the secondary or LB (DL only with no lurch of course)No running out of bounds (more fumbles) Donnie Dohnson
