Do you know how to RAM it?

Seriously, I love this stuff - I'm posting one a day until I get through the ones I know of.

Here is perhaps the most ambitious of the wave of 80s NFL music videos, with the 1986 Cleveland Browns' unique offering, "Masters of the Gridiron."  Featuring C Mike Baab as the "Baabarian," LB Clay Matthews as "Clayrock," and RB Kevin Mack as "Mackmaulus," this Conan-inspired gem is over 16 minutes in length:

Haha, I'm glad I started this thread! All sorts of ridiculousness going on here. That Cleveland video, man, words fail me.

Not a song, but here's some candid footage of Tecmo faves having fun with the late Ray Combs on Family Fued. Lots of classic tomfoolery here.

This vid is more relevant to the Tecmo SNES days, but I couldn't find anything for the 80s/early 90s Packers. They didn't have a whole lot to be jazzed about. The rest of the 90s proved to be a different story, however.

This 1985 video actually predates the "Super Bowl Shuffle" and is, I believe, the first true music video with NFL players as the performers.  Lots of Seahawks in their underwear.  Makes you wonder why they didn't call it "Film Room Rock" instead of "Locker Room Rock - it'd have saved us all a lot of embarrassment:

ERIC DICKERSON KILLED IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  The boy got skillz!!!!!!!!!!!

Dickerson may have killed it, but I find the "Mountain Man from West VA" (all-pro guard Dennis Harrah) to be absolutely terrifying.  With that low camera angle pointed straight up at his crotch, the words "I learned long ago / if you ram it just right / you can ram it all day / and ram it all night" are particularly frightening.

A couple of years ago the Found Footage festival unearthed a "making of" video about "Ram It" that is maybe as hilarious as the actual video.  The choreographer talks at length about how "masculine" the dancing is, and there are a bunch of players talking about how this was an important opportunity to really be role models for the kids, all of it without even a trace of irony.  I don't know how to embed things that aren't from youtube, but you can watch it at the link below:

Also, you'd have thought that winning four Super Bowls in the 80s would have given the 49ers a decent budget for a video, but apparently not.  Here's the San Francisco contribution to the world of embarrassing NFL music videos:
