birdssportsfan
How do you guys think these should be weighted to determine an overall players skillset. I'm going to redo my rankings on my roster app, and wanted to see what you guys thought. Here is what I used for running backs before... RS + (MS x 2) + HP + BC + REC = overall value I was thinking of going to this instead for runningbacks RS + (MS x 3) + (HP x 2) + BC + REC = overall value Any thoughts? I want to have a good solid update for the app that everyone could find useful, and also have an idea of something I want to try with a contest once it hits 10,000 downloads. Right now we are at 8,719 downloads. I'll always keep the app add-free and no charge. I don't want to make any money off it, I just want to contribute in some way to the community and to help keep the tradition going. bruddog
Unless HP is 88 or more its worthless because you wont popcorn anyone on D.Id go something likeRS 5% MS 75% BC 5% REC 15%IF HP=88 add 3 to ms value if hp=94 add 6. To put that in an integer format total= RS+ (MS x 15) +BC + (REC X 3). + IF( HP==88){total=total +(3 X 15)} IF (HP==94){total=total +(6 X 15)}
keirre21
I'd say drop REC even lower maybe to 10% and take MS up to 80%
bruddog
Ya rec has more value for those RB's that can be used more as receiving options. Gray, Bailey, Byars, John L, etc.
birdssportsfan
Thanks for the info, that will help a lot. When I start looking at defense does the HP have to be above 88 to matter also?
OL' Dirty Tecmo
63 for LB and DBI'd say 75 For DLBo defenders above 88 I'm pretty sure. Edited March 12, 2014 by diazzhole
Lamefest
I've always struggled figuring out how to properly value HP for RB's. I've come to use some sort of exponential value of their HP's in a formula to properly value the 94's and 88's. I've always wondered about this, and this post finally pushed me to take the time to crunch the numbers. I wanted to know what percentage of defenders a RB would popcorn with each level of HP. In doing so, I adjusted the percentages to take in account condition of both RB and all defenders. Condition probability begins at 100% average in game 1/quarter 1 and moves to 0.1250 bad/excellent; 0.3750 average/good by game 8/quarter 3 and then continues those values into perpetuity. Because of this variable, I came up with two different calculations. The first number below uses mean condition probability through 1 game (for pre-season games) and the second uses a 19-game calculation (for full season calculations). Hopefully this can assist in putting some sense behind what value to put on RB's HP. 94 - 49.89% 48.26%88 - 31.50% 32.20%81 - 15.18% 16.87%75 - 4.96% 6.73%69 - 1.13% 1.88%63 - 0.19% 0.34%56 - 0.02% 0.04% Edited April 27, 2014 by Lamefest vikingmoe02
