Okay, so I still have a bit of freelance work to do, but someone had requested the Seahawks.

Bodom, thanks for the assist. I've updated the rom at the top of the thread.

Tried to do the Bolts, but there's some funky pixel shifting and very little wiggle room. May have to shelf San Diego for the moment.

Hm. Atlanta is proving difficult. Here's my first go at it:

Tried to make the shape more definite, but I'm thinking maybe the original is better.

Tried making the back lines a bit thicker. Adds to the 'sharpness.' definitely an improvement on my last effort, but still not sure.

Version 2.0 is boss. I think your face is too close to the painting. Once you step back and clear your thoughts, I think you'll see that it's significantly more detailed. Great job on 2.0. The back line helps thicken and direct the sharpness forward to where the eye needs to go anyway.

2.0 looks the closest to actual logo, although it would be cool to throw a little silver in there

Maybe some silver / gray in the beak, and the second layer of pixel on the outside of the thick backside line being silver too?

2.0 is epicsauce. The tip bothers me a tiny bit. 

 

 

Maybe bothers is the wrong word. My eye is immediately drawn to it.

How about Falcon 3? Looking at the helmet buck posted, it looks the outline is gray more than white. So i've outlined this one in gray with white accents and tweaked his beak.

And another tweak, this time trying to make Detroit's Lion a bit more ferocious and using a slightly lighter shade of blue (11 Hex value for the blue color instead of 12)

No doubt because you started with the helmets that you could see as more easily benefitting from a update. I'm an anal-retentive nit-picker, myself. So every little detail you better each helmet with is really awesome to me.

Thanks, TDO. I suppose the work on the Falcons logo shows best; if I don't think its an improvement I won't do it.

That said, here's what I've done to the Eagles:

I added black to the wing's color palette and darkened the helmet color a shade. I realize the eagles don't have any sort of helmet striping, but i felt the second shade of green tracing the helmet and the buckles helped create the illusion of that particular shade of dark green they use.

 

EDIT: 

Changed a few pixels that were bugging me on the Eagle's wing:

 

If there's tile data left over once I'm done, I'll add another tile and extend the wing all the way to the front of the helmet where it belongs.

I actually had a go at every single helmet a few months ago.  I'll share if you wish, but I hate to hijack your thread.  It's neat to see what other people come up with as there is always a slightly different approach and technique.

Yeah, why not start a thread or post an album? The goal here, as with the new base rom, is to make sure everything is as good as we can make it. Plus, maybe you have solutions to some of the trickier logos (KC, for example) that I haven't managed to get yet.

Okay.  I might.  I am drawn to this art and having absolutely no knowledge of updating these roms I have no knowledge of palettes and colors, so my helmets are just done in the paint shop with the colors I've found on various helmets.  They'd probably have to have colors adjusted.

 

It's cool seeing another person tackle it.

The NES uses three colors and transparency into a sprite (logo). Transparency shows the background behind (most of the texans logo is transparency, showing the helmet color). These are the colors you have to choose from:

 

Also, not worth its own post, but I tweaked the yellow on the 'Skins helmet and swapped the helmet template for the Jets to give them a white stripe on the outside and a green stripe inside that.
