I have the 93 SNES TSB, and I was wondering, what causes players' physical condition to better or worsen?

I always thought it was how they were performing at the time. If a player is in a slump like a runner getting stuffed constantly, his condition would go down. It works the other way going up as well.
I'm not sure if being in bad condition is a warning of a player getting injured or if it's a random crapshoot.

It doesn't change as frequently as it does in TSB III. I'd say it moves to and from certain conditions randomly, but only moves from bad to average, excellent to good, etc.

I'll go with random crapshoot, too.

there is a radom element involved certainly,
but it has to do alot to the way a player is performing
i have also noticed that a player will never stay in excellent for more than
one game for some reason. at the start of the next game he will always be in normal or good. sometimes you can move him back into excellent during the course of the game but even that is rare.
also during the games the quarterback's condition will somtimes change
if he is getting sacked and taking alot of hard hits during the game.
although throwing picks doesnt seem to affect his condition much
but i am usually to busy swearing at him to check anyway
