If you follow the Tecmo Madison twitter account @TecmoMadison or have ever talked to the organizers of the event, you'll find that every tournament has a theme and they spend a LOT of time coming up with their theme which is always some play on a Tecmoer's name.

For reference, here are all their event names (Tecmo III was their first "named" event)

• Tecmo IX - "Marino Royale"
• Tecmo VIII - "Muster's Last Stand"
• Tecmo VII - "The Hoss Whisperer"
• Tecmo VI - "He Went To Jerry"
• Tecmo V - "Ickey and the Boomdog" (I know this is Ickey Woods but I do not get the reference)
• Tecmo IV - "LT's Revenge"
• Tecmo III - "Fulcher Menace"

Tecmo IX - "Fro's Redemption"

"Ickey and the Boomdog" is a reference to Smokey and the Bandit. Our old roommate Adam "Garbage" Gauthier referred to Boomer Esiason as the boomdog.

I'm trying to get these guys to show up.
I heard Tommy on the right gave Chet a battle in 2010. Jack in the middle has won the last two in SWLA since I won championship game vs. him in 2011. He beat me in the championship game on the updated cartridge tournament recently.

I beat the guy on the right when we were there a few years back. He gave me a good game, though. I also beat Chad (on the left) in that tournament, and he could play, too. Then Chet smoked me in the title game.
