What does this mean to TB.org?
When we are able to get our p2p, man vs man solution working efficiently, TB.org will be the ONLY site with a hosted version. This will eliminate the ROM/emulator scenario for any league-type or p2p play.

There will be options with the hosted version to play in the original format or in the updated GH format.

Guys,

I've been working with Dave off and on about the creation of this.
We're talking about a football game that is meant to capture the essence of Tecmo Super Bowl but isn't Tecmo Super Bowl....thus, the type of game play that you've been begging Tecmo to re-make and they've been failing to deliver.
This is completely legit and I haven't been talking about this at all because I really didn't want to get hopes up like in the past.
The first release will be a "Com vs Com" mode on Facebook.
Eventually the goal will be p2p. It's my hope and Dave's goal that it will be "Tecmo-esque" enough that you'll find playing this game to be the future of playing the game online while eliminating a lot of the other issues that currently exist and keep most from even attempting to play online.

Just kidding (for now ). As long as it's not as silly as the original with only tapping involved. There are a few versions out there that weight tapping and hit power differently.

And do you plan on making playbooks basically the same, modified, even with set defenses instead of just calling the offensive play?

Playbooks are another awesome thing. We will have an initial set of 30 plays to choose from and can incrementally increase to infinity if we so choose.
Defenses will be in formations but when the offensive play-call matches the defensive formation call, the all-out blitz occurs. Example: both call Up + C.

Q: What happens if you go over the goal?

A: The extra money will be put back into the game and it's expansion. Goal Numero Uno is to progress immediately into live p2p play.

Q: When can we expect the release?

A: We’re aiming to start beta-testing with our Kickstarter backers in April of 2012. We’ll give the project as much time as needed to ensure the it meets our standards and hope for an expedited release!

Q: How do I get access to the beta?

A: You will be invited through the email address you provide and given access in Facebook to 1) the game itself and 2) our hidden community where we all discuss strategy, balancing, and all the fun stuff!

Also, will this support leagues like we know and love here on TB.org, or will we be restricted to the mmorpg/build-a-team kind of thing? To be able to put out a roster (much like people do now) and share it or use it in a league would be awesome.

Yes, USB controllers will most definitely be supported with the p2p version. However, you need a controller with at least 3 buttons. League vs Dynasty will be further determined once the p2p version is in development. It is our hope to have the ability to keep everything the same, but we'll see how that shakes out when the time comes.

2) No, we've cleared everything with our lawyers.

3) No, there won't be a public version unless we move to console.
