Hello. My name is Drew and I run a little thing called the TSB Showdown. It's a fantasy league, much like the one you ran last year on these forums. I spice things up a bit by writing weekly recaps of each matchup and posting video highlights of some of the week's top plays. Season 1 featured the original NES version, while Season 2 will simulate the 1999 NFL season (thanks to a ROM I found in a zip file on this site).
Well, it seems I ended up with only 9 owners for Season 2... so I need one more! I know it sucks to promote this to a group of TSB players while only being able to accept one person, but there will always be a Season 3... and 4... and 5!
If you are interested, please send me a pm. I will direct you to our forums so you can read up on the rules and the other owners. If you like what you see, you can register and we can kick things off.
EDIT: The league is now full, but stay tuned for Season 3! (might be using a Mutant League ROM for that)

I'd love to see the site and read along for fun. I bet a lot of people here would. Heck, you could move your league over here and use this site so you'd get more traffic and fans. I've got too much on my plate right now and I'm already involved with TBO Season 3 which will be starting up again any day now. I said... I ran the league with a group of friends from Chicago/Minnesota, and while each person had participated in real fantasy football, most had never played Tecmo (gasp!). This made the draft very entertaining. You can check the archives at the bottom of the page to read some weekly reviews.
The new and improved Season 2 is at http://www.tsbshowdown.forumotion.com. I've added a 5 player bench, waiver claims, and some rule changes to better adapt to the Tecmo universe.
Finally, check out the Top 10 Plays of Season 1. I mashed this together using the YouTube editor, so it's nothing special. The #1 play is great because it was the absolute final play of the final game of the Tecmo season. The league champion owned Stephone Paige, and he was down 8 points. Enjoy!

I can't remember where I found it, but the zip is huge! It has over 100 Tecmo ROMS in it. The 1999 version that I am using is a standard 28-team ROM.
Also, the league has filled up (just to avoid confusion with future readers). Either my friend will join by tonight, or Dave is in.

It's a mystery! Haha... are they much different?? I never looked into it. I trust the creators of the ROMS to accurately assign player ratings based on player stats during that season (and prior player reputation, I guess). That's why I link to the NFL stats database and hope that people (myself included) use that to draft rather than look up player attributes. Nobody else in the league is even close to being a Tecmo nut like I am, so I want to keep things fair.
I hope that's a good policy.

My league recently lost an owner, so there's a new spot waiting to be filled! We just held the draft yesterday, but there are still plenty of things you can do to run this team and make it your own:
1 - The 5-player bench allows for some nice versatility from week to week.
2 - The brand new Waiver Wire puts a unique twist on standard Tecmo leagues.
3 - Trades!
The time commitment can be as low as 10 minutes per week. I just need someone to set the lineup, play the Waiver Wire, and enjoy my Weekly Updates.
