You might have noticed the +1 at the top of the site here or on the internet in general.
It's Google's new approach to using people to rate sites along with machines.
They figure the more people that "like" a site the more it's relevant.
This particular site does pretty well in the search engine right now but it does get beat out by a garbage site like one that has all the Nintendo games emulated.
I'd appreciate it that if you like this site that you also +1

I take it that Google and Facebook couldn't agree on a deal to let Google use Facebook's "likes" data?
2013: Nebraska - Elite 8; Madison - Round of 32
2012: Madison - Sweet 16; Ohio - Sweet 16
2011: Madison - Round of 32; Ohio - 2-3 in triple-elim
2010: Madison - Elite 8; Ohio - Sweet 16; Chicago - Final 4
2009: Madison - Round of 32; Ohio - Elite 8
2008: Madison - Round of 32
Only 1/2 garbage since 2008

I'm not sure they would ever share that data...this seems more like Google seeing the success of the Like and figuring how it would be beneficial to them.
You'll also notice that I just put up a blanket icon at the top that has numbers based on the url....i'm not sure if it aggregates results for a site through multiple pages or if it treats separate pages uniquely.
For instance, the forum front page shows a +1 from me but others do not

I think I have my answer...you need to tell it a specific site so instead of liking this particular page it likes the site

I thought you were giving Google a +1 for their Les Paul tribute today.
Because that alone certainly is worth a +1.
