[10.13.10]...

Welcome, TSB Fan!

> FAST-AND-DIRTY GAME NOTES:

Complete graphical re-branding of TSB! All 32 NFL teams. In-Game Playbook editing. 8 Custom Defensive Plays. Slightly-altered TSB player Ability Points. A slew of great gameplay hacks. A mesh of up-to-date and 'what should have been' 2010-11 rosters [Example]. Visual Instruction Book, complete with game information and custom Defensive Formation breakdowns. For a complete list of graphic changes, play-style alterations, game hacks, and so much more, please view the TSC Instruction Book.

> AUTHOR'S NOTE:

Many aspects of Tecmo Super Coach 10-11 have been updated for this v.BETA 1.0 release. Lots of graphic work. A good amount of game play hacks were also installed. I think you're gonnalove them. All of the changes have been noted in the updated TSC Instruction Book. I'm also of the opinion that all of these updates have gone to serve Tecmo Super Coach becoming a tighter, more streamlined, and more fulfilling football experience. See the below TSC Change-Log for what will be specific detailed changes that occur after the v.BETA 1.0 release.

> TSC v.BETA 1.0.1 | CHANGE-LOG:

[x] Jstout killed the "TE RS Flare C" game-freezing bug.

> SPECIAL THANKS:

As always, a big thanks goes to CX_ROM for his 32-Team ROM base. A huge thumbs-up to Jstout for his always appreciated code science-dropping and creativity. Xplozv deserves a great thank you for his much appreciated investment in the project this past Summer, and subsequent falling off the face of the planet. Rod for continued development of this online TSB forum community. And Bruddog and Bodom for their consistent feedback and knowledge.

Also as always, if you come across incorrect Player Names, Races, or Jersey Numbers--let me know.

» UPDATE | 10.13.10

So, a new ROM is on the way. This is kind of coming out of left field, huh? Left field is awesome.

This past Spring, when I knew my life was going to be chaos in the Summer, I started work on the next incarnation of Tecmo Super Coach, along with Xplozv who very generously offered me his time to help me work through some playbook and other miscellaneous ROM updates. We spent a couple of months working on a good chunk of this year's version. What is about to be released is the combination of some anal-retentive efforts from myself, Xplozv, and a dosage of science that Jstout has been dropping annually on these ROMs since day one. Well done and thanks to all involved.

GAME NOTES:

This year's release features a combination of changes, with highlights being that MAN modes have been re-introduced to the ROM, and a detailed reworking of custom run playbooks. Check the working version of the current TSC instruction manual for additional changes since last year's Tecmo Super Coach. You'll notice the cover graphic reads, "Super Tecmo Bowl." This because I had plans to re-brand the game, graphically, but those plans are on the back burner for now.

Look for this year's game to be a work-in-progress in all respects, from a gamplay, graphics, and general all-around standpoint throughout the 2010-2011 season. Everyone's continued feedback is key to making this continually a better game and TSB-styled football experience. So, thanks in advance.

» UPDATE | 10.17.10

BETA 1.0 is released. Thanks to Xplozv, Jstout, Rod, Bodom, Cx_Rom, Bad_Al, OBEagles, Bruddog, and The TSB Repository Members.

KNOWN ISSUES/PROJECTS:

#1 FREEZING: As previously stated, The game occasionally freezes during play. I have yet to pin-point all of the issues. They happen during play. They also rarely happen. I believe it has something to do with some of the player reactions that I fumbled with when I first started to edit this ROM. Literally, these issues are likely from something stupid I did to the game in 2008.

! HELP ME FIX THIS !

When you experience something like this, please WRITE DOWN what Offensive and Defensive plays were running prior to game freeze. I believe this problem(s) is/are easily fixed if we can simply find the plays that cause the game to occasionally break, and specifically, the QB / WR reaction errors. Much thanks for your help. Again, it rarely happens.

#2 PLAYER STATS IN-PROGRESS:

Bodom and I will be continuing to tweak player stats over the course of the 2010-2011 NFL season. HP, RP, MS, REC, INT, SIM Stats, etc.; it's all likely to change. We're tailoring the game to utilize each category to its most, in creating as many variations to player traits as possible, speeding up the game, as well. Bear with us. But feel free to provide overall feedback of the game's 'feel.' Among other things.

#3 GRAPHICS:

The Intro cut scenes will continue to be modified. Look for minor graphics updates to continue throughout the 2010-11 NFL season. Suggestions are welcome.

#4 ROSTERS:

Rosters will be a work in progress throughout the NFL season. Updates will come when they come. Drop me a line here about changes to teams if you'd like. I'm all for it. Rosters are currently 97ish-% accurate as of 10/17/2010.

#5 PLAYER REACTION DEVELOPMENT:

I would really like to continue work on increasing the detail in logic of certain players on Offense and Defense. I have some brief ideas and will shoot them to the appropriate people for suggestions. I'm feeling good about them. It's all coming together.

#6 PLAYBOOK DEVELOPMENT:

Over time, I would like to continue developing the playbook. There are a lot of great plays that have been developed by Bruddog, Xplozv, Buck, and others. Rad is good.

#7 GENERAL DEVELOPMENT:

It's a work in progress, totally. Enjoy it for what it is currently, BETA 1.0. Any and all feedback welcomed. I do enjoy it. Thanks again to everyone who helped.

Ok *Bob, it's roster check-up time.

Shipley: you really want this WR having 2 default run plays?… (he hasn't run once.)

kr Leonard? (Scott)
pr Vakapuna? (Shipley)

pr McGahee? (Houshmandzadeh)

PIT.

Jstout killed that "TE RS Flare C" game-freezing bug that Warrenmoombomb helped track down the other night in the Repository chat room. That last statement I wrote is cool for so many reasons. BETA 1.0.1 is now available for download in the first post.

Please do. I'd gladly encourage your continuing to provide this wiki information throughout the course of the season. When I do roster updates, I'll be sure to reference it. And thanks!

Baltimore's ot lose had me ticked so i turned to your rom to drown way reality. Glad you found the freeze problem cause it cut my revenge on the pats short. Some quick feed back. i like the overall look of your graphics, and the dark purple for baltimore is tops. I really enjoyed the small player movements that the recievers made and for some reason often came back to the ball when miss thrown which i also liked. i wasn't sure of at two minute clock but it grew on me. the d-fence reaction were also nice. i need more time before i can critic the D formations but the pre-player movements were cool. i liked a lot of your plays including the qb/running back play up the middle but like Bruddog, i think the play actions take too much time to develop to be useful for man vs man, buck had a really nice run play where running back stars out one way and cuts behind his defenders to the opposite side if your looking for play idea's to steal. i believe Drummer has the most fully updated roosters. great rom. thanks.

First of all, this is so awesome. You sent me the link yesterday and I played an obscene amount of this last night. So far, the only bug I found is the play RB2-WR2 WCAT L. At least for me, the RB receiving the hike doesn't move. He runs play action through the first runner but then stops.

10 million thumbs up for this. I am stoked for the completed version!

Half-time stats are in TSC. I'm not sure how you missed them?

A couple extra changes to the Jets.

Pool starts over Smith at Safety
Jenkins is out for the season and Pouha has replaced him
Taylor doesn't start now that Pace is back in the line up. Pace and Thomas are the OLB's

The ROM is a ton of fun, love the new plays. Thanks for updated a classic.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm open to the evolution of play action passes. Refining that aspect of the offense wasn't on my radar for this developmental drive-by. We'll see what takes shape.

I was writing to Bruddog the other day about it being time to finally start sifting through the work of the community with a fine tooth comb to see what developments are happening. I'm very excited about this part of the development process. I've been waiting for a while to fire these games up!

Thanks for the words, dude. Hope you enjoyed yourself. Thanks for the bug heads-up. I'll see if I can't get that touched up for the next BETA release.

...The ROM is a ton of fun, love the new plays. Thanks for updated a classic.

Thanks, dude. Xplozv deserves most of the credit for the creative new plays like the Wildcat and others. He's got that TSB talent. But I've had a lot of fun authoring the ROM and working with other peeps on it.

this is a real beauty. nice work. thanks!

Dank, Buck. I look forward to tearing your ROM open soon.

How did you get around the bugs with pass and run plays mixed together in the same slot?!!

Love that enthusiasm. I ask that you turn your attention to the Jstout behind the curtain.
