I believe I've have all the kinks out of the system and the Tourney Map is ready for business.
Here is the purpose of the map.
1. To let you know if there are any Tecmo Tournaments planned and any pertinent information.
2. To let you know if there are other people around your area when planning a tournament
3. If you want to form a bar league, this will let you know of other people around.
Navigating the map
#1 - While I might change the exact layout or wording, you should be able to find the link to the map and the link to add yourself to the map at the top. You can also find your map information under the User Control Panel.
#2 - On the right hand side you will have options to find things on the map by Event or Person.
#3 - Just so every person doesn't show up on the map at once, there are groups that show up when there are a certain number of people in a close proximity. As you drill down, the individual people will be revealed.
Adding yourself to the map
Here are some tips to setting yourself up.
1. Type in your City and State to find your location.
You can type in your full address, but don't worry about privacy, we'll fix that in a moment.
2. You can drag your marker anywhere on the map.
I live by the Lincoln, NE Airport. You'll notice I've drug my icon there. Regardless, the map only stores a long/lat, so it doesn't store your actual address if you don't feel like moving the icon.
3. Pick your map Icon
By all mean, if you can make something new, I'll add it as an option. Otherwise, we have players, dots, and the Mighty Bombjack
4. Put in some additional information
I know 3 guys who would be interested in playing a Tecmo Tourney or league, but could care less about hacking or anything like that. This is a great chance to let people know not only that you would be interested in playing, but that there are other guys where you are. Otherwise it would be perfect for stating you only play TSB III or TSB Kickoff or anything of relevance.
