  1. Our April online tournament has come to a close and we will be starting a new one almost immediately. I'm looking for players of all abilities. If interested please send me a PM, or post on this thread, and I'll get you the deets. The tournament is with the TPC_tapmeter rom if anyone is curious. We had about 36 players compete in the last one, and I'd like to see that number go up. We'd like to have the roster and groups finalized by this Friday 6/9/2017, so message me ASAP if interested. Thanks! If we don't have enough players we will extend this. More details will emerge, but the general gist of things is that you will be placed in a group where you play everyone in said group back to back, taking turns hosting and playing as player 1. Overall records and point differential seeds a double elimination bracket. Nearly ever game's NSV file is commentated on and uploaded to youtube by myself, along with guest color commentators such as @Ryan11p Retro Sports Gamer, Old Dirty Tecmo, Odell, Ptitteri, Toolie, Darthrockman and potentially more this season. It's a great way for new and old players to improve, and simulate a local tournament feel. As of right now we have about 16 signed up. We'd like to get as many as before, so please let me know ASAP if you want in. I'll need you to fill out this form to apply to the tournament. Due to scheduling and hosting challenges for some, not all will be accepted into this event. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSc3mqXGThQ7aLcXkq5Z_sNmesJHbsGooVhbLLiwVXW0v2Njfg/viewform?c=0&w=1

  3. Green Bay WI, 8-3-2017 6:30PM - GBLAN Presents, 3rd Beebe, a Tecmo Super Bowl Tournament My wife is due with our 3rd child at the end of August. This is the first available Thursday night after baseball season ends for those in our area. Thursday night tournaments have been a great way to get that accelerated tournament experience. Our last two tournaments got us 49 total participants. Here is the official FB page for signup http://tinyurl.com/3rdbeebe Sign up at 6:30, games start by 7PM. Games are played on official NES hardware, or hardware clones with real cartridges, no rom dumps or emulation. Controllers are NES OEM, and games are played on CRT tvs. We can do up to 18 stations, but will likely have 10-12 setup. To this point we haven't had any waiting due to unavailable systems since moving to our Thursday format. Standard Madison matchmaking and game play rules are in effect. If we exceed 16 players we will use a group play format, followed by a single elim bracket. If we are at 16 or under, we will use a standard challonge double elim bracket. The entire event goes on for about 4 hours typically, with the majority of the field done by 10 or so.. The last two times we had pizza provided by a sponsor, and we are working to see if we can get them onboard again. Drinks are $1 off for participating. Entry fee is $10 per person. Payout is 50% to 1st place, gift certs to 2nd and 3rd place, remaining proceeds go to pay for equipment. Please RSVP on the FB page if you are coming. If you are interested in coming, and not use Facebook, you may message me on the boards, or email trojan1979@gmail.com with your intentions. Hope to see you there! Trojan

  5. When I was at the Detroit Kumite tournament last weekend, a number of players from the Cleveland area who I had never met before attended as well and we all had a great time! Many of these guys already get together a few times a year to play casual Tecmo Super Bowl at various venues. I collected emails and some cell phone numbers for players that wanted to provide one. This post is to see who would be interested in getting together potentially quarterly to play Tecmo Super Bowl and perhaps consider doing a Fantasy Football League in the fall for anyone who enjoys both Tecmo and Fantasy Football and lives in or near Northeast Ohio. If this is something that interests you, please message me and provide your email address and cell phone number, as I will be creating a text distribution group in addition to the email distribution list once we finalize the initial details. If you could also let me know ideas for places to meet, how many systems, cartridges, controllers and TVs you would be willing to share with the group, that would also be helpful. The idea is to simply get a group of great guys together semi regularly who enjoy both Tecmo Super Bowl and NFL football. Thanks in advance for your consideration. More to follow after I collect everyone's thoughts and responses.

Refund Policy: No refunds but you can transfer the money to another player who is attending. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rules ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Game play rules ( See each Round Description in the Six pack ) 1. Except for Round 4 Lurching is prohibited. If you want to rush with a DL, you must either go outside the offensive tackle or bump/grapple someone on the offensive line. Please note that this rule does not apply to LBs. If you want to rush with a DL, when crossing over the line of scrimmage within the restricted circle with a DL and before making a play on the QB, you must first bump or grapple an offensive lineman. The video below breaks it down. The below video link shows what is illegal. 2. “One Matchup Once” Rule: The coin-flip winner can only select a particular matchup once throughout the entire tournament. For instance, if Player A wins the toss and selects Packers-Browns, Player A cannot call that exact matchup for the rest of the tournament. Player B, however, is free to select that matchup later in the tournament. 3. Customizing Playbooks and Lineup Changes: Customizing playbooks is permissible. You can access your player change screen (screen where you check player conditions and make substitutions) only twice per half. This helps speed up the games. 4. WR/TE at RB: A WR/TE cannot carry the football unless it is a reverse. You can insert a WR or TE into a RB slot for lead blocking purposes, but he cannot carry the football. To further clarify, players such as Ernest Givins, Ricky Sanders, and Andre Rison cannot carry the football unless it is a reverse. 5. Ties/Overtime: A game can end in a tie. In 6 Pack round ties are allowed to speed things up. In the single elimination No ties are allowed. If a game is tied when regulation concludes, competitors will proceed to OT. If no one scores in the first OT, a new game will begin and the first competitor to score will be declared the winner. So that one competitor does not start with the ball in each OT period, the kicking team in the first OT will be the receiving team in the new game (i.e. the second OT). 6. . System Malfunctions: If there is a system failure in the first half, games will be replayed from the start. If a system malfunctions in the 2nd half, only the second half is replayed. In that event, the scores from each half are added together to obtain a final score. If the game was noncompetitive or any equipment malfunctioned due to human error, the tourney organizers reserve the right to declare a winner without replaying any portion of the game. 7. Controllers: Tournament competitors are allowed to bring their own controller to use in games. Tournament organizers will also coordinate obtaining equipment for the competition for those that do not bring their own. Tournament organizers will examine each controller and tag it as acceptable, only tagged controllers can be used. NES Max or NES Advantage are not allowed. 8. A forfeit win will be marked as A14 to 0 win. Obviously if someone gives up when your up 28 to o then it will be counted as 28+ for margin of victory. The maximum differential of victory for any game is 28pts. IF you win 35 to 3 it will marked as a 28 pt win for your differential. 9.. The top 12 to 24 records in the Six rounds will square off in single elimination tournament. Each game will be preceded with a manual coin flip. The Loser of the coin toss picks the matchup. Winner of the coin toss gets Team Selection or Controller Preference. The Loser of the coin toss gets what is left over. examples Lou Picks Mia-Philly Morts takes Mia Lou takes P1 or Mort calls Chi-Kc LOu takes P1 and Mort takes CHi --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- SIGN UP VIA 2 Steps 1st step: email Ss4sonkun@yahoo.com with NAME: NICKNAME: EQUIPMENT: We are in need of more N.E.S systems and tube tv's to handle the format HOMETOWN: PHONE #: 2nd step. payment. 9. Here we go. We're actually doing it. We're gonna let Johnny Johnson run wild in the Beaver (state). SirTed and I will be crossing the mighty Columbia to bring the Tecmo heat into the Rose City. Even though Gripsmoke and Tailback King are the only Tecmoers to make much noise out of P-town (one with his play, the other with his spray), they are both HOFers, and Oregon is due for some hot Tecmo action. WHEN January 28th, 2017, 11 am. (The Saturday between the Conference Championships and the Superbowl) WHERE Concordia Ale House 3276 NE Killingsworth St, Portland, OR 97211 (Ground Kontrol isn't big enough for all us heavyweights, I'm still down to hit it up after) WHAT Tecmo Super Bowl... and more... One of the jewels of the region and home to something in the sports world we are sorely lacking in Seattle- NBA Basketball. Ted and I will be parlaying our journey South into Friday Night Memphis Grizzlies at Portland Trailblazers action 1/27. Hope you can join us. AND This tournament will not just be a Tecmo Super Bowl showdown. In honor of Clyde the Glide, Terry Porter, and Rick Adelman's mustache, this event will also feature a (very small) Tecmo NBA Basketball Tournament. RIP CITY WHERE YOU AT TBK!? LET'S GOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Loser's bracket champion will once again have their choice of two prizes with the Loser's bracket runner-up getting the other. FORMAT Standard Madison Rules for all matchups. You may only call a certain matchup ONCE the entire day. There will be 5 rounds pitting two random participants vs each other. Names will be drawn out of a hat and pitted against each other. At the conclusion of 5 rounds, the 8 competitors with the best winning percentage will be put into a double-elimination bracket to decide the Portland Tecmo Champion. ALL GAMES in round 3 will be Dallas vs Phoenix: The JOHNNY FREAKIN JOHNSON round. The 1st tiebreaker will be opponent's winning percentage, the 2nd tiebreaker will be Tecmo NBA winning percentage and the 3rd tiebreaker will be combined Tecmo NBA and TSB score differential. (Don't worry if you can't hoop, The 2nd and 3rd tiebreak shouldn't be a factor, really) Cash prizes will be given out to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, and the Top Newcomer. The remaining competitors will be seeded into the loser's bracket to duke it out for their choice of a consolation prize. If you were in Seattle this September, it will be very similar in structure to that only this time- 1) If you are late, you take an L. Be there at 11 am or risk forfeit. Exceptions will be made if we took a while to get organized or there is a shortage of TVs and there were delays otherwise, but lets everyone try to be there and ready to play by 11 am! 2) Everyone will get at least 6 games. Last time a certain amount of losses booted you, but this time, you can keep rollin and fight for improved seeding. And also, there will be some action on the side- A March Madness style single elimination Tecmo NBA tournament. Seeded randomly, this will only be for a trophy and bragging rights. Pick and rolls will be executed. Facials will be administered. Roundball will be run, but the focus will be on Tecmo Super Bowl, cause thats whats up. SEE YOU SATURDAY @PortlandTecmo
  10. Hey all. Im working on my yearly TFO Rom and last season I started to give away the prize of placing text on the Tecmo Blimp that appears at halftime. So since I have my notes and couldn't find this on the boards I wanted to post it for others... and so I won't lose it next season when I do this all again So I like to think of the Tecmo Blimp as having 2 Lines of 10 "Spots". These spots are filled in with 8x8 pixel images. There are 16 available characters to use in these spots (not counting spaces). You would need to go in and EDIT these with your own images/letters/characters to appear on the blimp and one could have MORE spots by doing some edits on their own but I stick with the 16 as I haven't had an issue with it. I know there is more "real estate" on the blimp that could be used but since it shares a pallet with the background clouds I just stick with the two 10 character lines. CHARACTER GRAPHIC SPOTS (17 total counting Space/Blank) 03 = Space/Blank (DO NOT OVERWRITE) 0B = Left Part of Helmet Icon 0F = Right Part of Helmet Icon 1D = E (blue) 37 = C (blue) 39 = T (blue) 3D = M (blue) 3E = O (blue) 3F = S (pink) 41 = U (pink) 42 = P (pink) 43 = E (pink) 44 = R (pink) 45 = B (pink) 46 = O (pink) 47 = W (pink) 48 = L (pink) SPOTS AVAILABLE ON THE BLIMP (2 Lines of 10) 1ST: LINE: 0x1446c 0x1446d 0x1447b 0x1447c 0x1447d 0x1447e 0x1448c 0x1448d 0x1448e 0x1448f 2ND LINE: 0x14470 0x14471 0x1447f 0x14480 0x14481 0x14482 0x14490 0x14491 0x14492 0x14493 PALLET LOCATION (3 colors) BLUE: 0x1a02d PINK: 0x1a02e WHITE: 0x1a02f (DO NOT CHANGE) [Recommended not to mess with the white as the rest of the blimp's white spots share the same pallet as the clouds in the background] Attached is TFO 2016's Blimp Have fun!!!!
  11. I posted my 1994 rom years ago, but I've been tinkering away these past few years on a few more. Aside from the usual schedule, playbook, lineup, and attribute changes made to each rom, I'll list some of the more interesting changes below. Needless to say, the roms improve each year as I got better at creating them. Expansion teams replace the worst teams in each conference for a given season. The Giants and Raiders are exempt from being removed, since they are the favorite teams of my friend and I. 1994 rom Phoenix Cardinals changed to Arizona Cardinals 1995 rom Los Angeles Raiders changed to Oakland Raiders Los Angeles Rams changed to the St Louis Rams New York Jets changed to the Jacksonville Jaguars Arizona Cardinals changed to Carolina Panthers Jags-Panthers-BigHelmets.bmp 1996 rom New York Jets changed to the Jacksonville Jaguars New Orleans Saints changed to Carolina Panthers Cleveland Browns changed to Baltimore Ravens Ravens_Endzone_Clear.bmp 1997 rom Indianapolis Colts changed to Jacksonville Jaguars Chicago Bears changed to Carolina Panthers Denver Broncos uniform/helmet changed Tampa Bay Buccaneers uniform/helmet changed Houston Oilers changed to Tennessee Oilers Tecmo 1997 0000.bmp Small Helmets.bmp Feedback and comments are appreciated. I'm probably not going to re-edit any of these roms, but I would welcome valuable input for future roms. Thanks for reading and keep enjoying Tecmo Bowl in all its many forms! SNES 1994-1997.zip
  12. View File NCAA: TSB 2016 I have been sitting on this ROM for almost a year before finally releasing it. This is a collaborative effort between myself and Dave Murray. The ROM was originally finished at the end of the 2015-16 NCAA football season and is based on said season. Unless I missed anything, all instances of "NFL" have been removed from the game and replaced with NCAA logos, so that the game will have an authentic college football feel. There are 32-teams on the ROM, with each team having their own helmet art included on their team data screens (helmet art courtesy of Dave Murray). These lucky 32 teams are: Florida State Clemson Pittsburgh Miami Missouri Georgia South Carolina Florida Auburn Texas A&M Louisiana State Alabama Syracuse Louisville Virginia Tech Notre Dame Michigan Nebraska Ohio State Wisconsin Oklahoma Kansas State Baylor Oklahoma State Stanford South California UCLA Oregon Texas Iowa Michigan State Penn State The rosters and ratings were set at the end of the season so they would reflect performances throughout the season. Again, this ROM is a year old in terms of rosters. However, perhaps this ROM can set the groundwork as a base-ROM for future releases. I have been sitting on this ROM for almost a year before finally releasing it. 14. It is with great excitement that Two Brothers Productions announces the debut of its first project, Tecmo Super Bros. Tecmo, a Japanese video game corporation, created a game franchise known as Tecmo Super Bowl in 1991 for the Nintendo Entertainment System. With success came a sequel sharing the same title, this one for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. With not an ounce of hyperbole I say to you that this game is one of the greatest sports games of all time. Though it has been far surpassed when it comes to complexity and cinematography in video games since its early 90's inception, you feel nothing but entertained when playing it. It is on this notion that Two Brothers Productions decided that it would also be entertaining to watch the game be played. Tecmo Super Bros will be a season long thrill ride full of ups and downs, heart ache and triumph, and victory and defeat as you follow two teams, The New York Giants and the San Diego Chargers on their quests to be the 1991 Super Bowl Champions. Every game each of these two teams play will be brought to you with play by play commentary by one of our tremendous duos of broadcasters, which include some of the best names in the business such as likely future award winners Dick Region and Taint Supper. With great commentators bringing you great games every week, Tecmo Super Bros is sure to entertain during the lulls in the action on football Sundays. The Tecmo Super Bros season is set to kickoff with the NFL season, releasing the 1991 week 1 contests of the Giants and the Chargers at noon and 7 respectively on Sunday, September 11. FIRST TRAILER OFFICIALLY RELEASED!!!
  15. View File Tecmo Super Bowl: Gold This is Tecmo Super Bowl: Gold. I started working on this Legends-themed ROM back in March. I delayed the release of this ROM for the simple fact that around the time of the originally planned debut, a glut of other "Legends" ROMs burst onto the scene as well. So as not to (a) get lost in the shuffle or (b) take away from the spotlight of other modders, I pulled my work. This delay allowed me to fine-tune this ROM into what I would consider the "gold-standard" of Legends edits (hence, the "Gold" title) previously established by my past Convergence ROMs. Each team is comprised of the greatest players in franchise history, whether it's based on talent, records, or the impact they left on the team (Players like Tim Tebow and Kordell Stewart are included for the latter reasons). In addition to the team rosters, the All-Pro rosters have been edited to contain the greatest players in the history of the National Football League. I've combed over this ROM obsessively. If there are any errors, please let me know. Enjoy! Submitter Baron von Lector Submitted 08/17/2016 Category Misc ROMs

  21. File Name: Tecmo Convergence 2 File Submitter: Baron von Lector File Submitted: 02 Sep 2015 File Category: Misc ROMs This ROM is a NES-exclusive and is an upgrade to the previous SNES/NES Tecmo Convergence that I release a month or so ago. When we last left the battle, in the year 2069, Supreme Emperor Jerry Jones captured 28 of the greatest NFL teams throughout the history of the NFL and put them on the field in his own demented real-life game of fantasy football. The Houston Oilers were promptly destroyed but five more teams entered the fray in hopes of taking their spot, feeling disrespected that Emperor Jerry had overlooked them: the Houston Texans, Tennessee Titans, Baltimore Ravens, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Carolina Panthers. This brings the participant count to an even 32-teams. I used TB.org's base 32-team ROM as the basis of this update. Using Tile-Layer Pro and FCEUX's Hex-Editor, I even dabbled a bit in the realm of sprite and hex editing. Let me know if I've overlooked anything. When transferring some of the data from the SNES ROM to the NES ROM, I found some of the skin colors and faces had to be corrected. Click here to download this file

  23. I noticed a thread by DogTag where he was possibly trying to get 32 team ROM for the SNES version. I was wondering if anyone knows how or would/ could be able to incorporate some hacks from TSB II and III. Ones I would like to see are -switching sides after each quarter, in one player you always go left to right, I want to be able to right to left as well for half the game -stats, they tabulate in game stats better, not just the best receiver/ RB stats, but the top 4, and not just one QB, but both, and I think you can see stats in game as well That's all I can think of. Don't want to change too much such as the extra plays, the original version is classic, but maybe an option to audible. Anyone?
  24. Hello all! So for the last few months I have been working on a hack of the original Tecmo Super Bowl called TFO; Tecmo Fantasy Owners. Basically the idea behind the hack is that I created an RPG like application and had 24 of my closest friends fill out the sheet to create their own TFO team. Then once all teams are created we go through a Training Camp so players can see their teams in action, then its off to the 11 game season! Season games are all CPU vs CPU and are recapped online through the TFO Website and YouTube videos. So come join us for the first ever TFO Season! After the season is completed I will be releasing the TFO Rom for everyone to enjoy I'll update this post as things progress but expect the Training Camp videos to be up before January 28th 2013. HOPE YOU ENJOY OUR TECMO LEAGUE!!!! http://tfofootball.weebly.com
