  1. This ROM is an update of the “Spring Training” edition. The rosters have been updated, and I updated the ratings to incorporate the new formula I’ve been using for the historical ROMs. The ratings are based on 2014’s statistics with a few “grandfather” exceptions (Alex Rodriguez, Prince Fielder, CC Sabathia). These players are rated on expected stats as opposed to their actual stats. They are better than .000AVG/0HR, .247AVG/3HR, and 3W-4L/5.28ERA, respectively, due to injury and suspension. The most difficult decision was whether or not to include Yu Darvish on the Rangers, even as a #4 starter due to him being out for the entire year after undergoing Tommy John surgery. Ultimately, I omitted him from the roster. When playing, don’t be afraid to dig deep into the bench. Some teams started this year with a handful of starters on the disabled list. They are on the roster, but didn’t make the opening day starting lineup. Don’t be surprised to find a 20+HR/.300+AVG player on the bench. EDIT: A download link would be nice. Linked! 2. File Name: Nintendo World Cup 2014 File Submitter: Baron von Lector File Submitted: 06 Sep 2015 File Category: NES Here is an update of the NES classic "Nintendo World Cup." It has updated rosters (to reflect the 2014 World Cup). I also changed the uniforms to closely represent their real-life counterparts. Also, I tweaked the gameplay mechanics a little so that the players on the field run a little faster. A little disclaimer, this ROM was my guinea pig as I figured out how to make ROM modifications and color changes using a hex editor. Enjoy! Click here to download this file

This is Super Mario Bros. 2016! In short, this is a graphically enhanced version of the original Super Mario Bros. for the NES. Using Tile Layer Pro, I swapped out most of SMB's sprites with those found in Super Mario Bros. 2 and 3. Those that I didn't swap, I modified to give them more of a SMB2/3 feel. No gameplay was modified, as this is strictly a cosmetic update. In fact, the only time I used a hex editor was when I changed the date on the title screen from 1985 to 2016. Nothing more. Enjoy!

  5. File Name: Tecmo NBA Basketball 2016 File Submitter: Baron von Lector File Submitted: 15 Sep 2015 File Category: NES This ROM is based on the upcoming 2015-2016 NBA season. Using ESPN.com's depth charts, the rosters are accurate as of 9-15-15. Most of the work was done using Emuware's Tecmo NBA Manager, however, there were many aspects of the game that couldn't be changed using the editor. For this, I used FCEUX's hex editor and Tile Layer Pro. Using these additional tools, I was able to update team logos (Oklahoma City Thunder and Washington Wizards), remove obsolete hairstyles (mustaches, boxy flat-tops) and replace them with more current head accessories (long hair, headbands, and Jahlil Okafor's exploding afro), replace instances of "1991-92" with "2015-16", and other miscellaneous items. Along with roster updates, I (to the best of my knowledge) fixed the ratings to reflect the real-life counterparts. However, there is one small minor issue that doesn't affect gameplay, but can be annoying if you're all about 100% accuracy. There are some mercenaries in the game (Festus Ezeli, Mike Miller, Joey Dorsey, and Spencer Hawes) that try to ruin the simulation experience during season play. For some strange reason, these players, regardless of how I rate them (and they're relatively low-rated), end up leading the league in scoring with 30+ points-per-game every season. I don't know why this is. If you can ignore them, right underneath them will be Lebron James, Carmelo Anthony, Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook, and the rest of the NBA elite. Like I said, it's just a small detail issue. There are 27 teams in the game. Nashville, Toronto, and New Orleans were the three teams that were left out. Enjoy! Click here to download this file
  6. View File TSB Convergence: Final Edition This is the final edition of Tecmo Super Bowl: Convergence. For those that haven't followed this project, this is a ROM that contains the greatest teams in each franchise's history. With this ROM, you can pit the battle of the undefeateds as the 1972 Dolphins are pitted against the 2007 Patriots, or hop in the way-back machine as Jim Brown and the 1964 Cleveland Browns square off against Bart Starr and the 1962 Green Bay Packers. There are 32 teams with fair representation of the decades going back to the 1960s (60s (7 teams), 70s (4), 80s (5), 90s (8), 00s (4), 10s (4)). The teams included are: 1960 Philadelphia Eagles 1961 Houston Oilers 1962 Green Bay Packers 1963 San Diego Chargers 1964 Cleveland Browns 1968 New York Jets 1969 Kansas City Chiefs 1970 Baltimore Colts 1972 Miami Dolphins 1976 Minnesota Vikings 1978 Pittsburgh Steelers 1983 Los Angeles Raiders 1985 Chicago Bears 1986 New York Giants 1988 Cincinnati Bengals 1989 San Francisco 49ers 1990 Buffalo Bills 1991 Detroit Lions 1991 Washington Redskins 1992 Dallas Cowboys 1998 Denver Broncos 1998 Atlanta Falcons 1999 Jacksonville Jaguars 1999 St. Louis Rams 2000 Baltimore Ravens 2002 Tampa Bay Buccaneers 2007 New England Patriots 2009 New Orleans Saints 2012 Houston Texans 2013 Seattle Seahawks 2015 Arizona Cardinals 2015 Carolina Panthers There have been some changes since the last release of Convergence 3.0. First and foremost, the 1975 Steelers have been replaced with the 1978 version of the team. The 1999 Tennessee Titans have reverted back to the 1961 Houston Oilers (the team that was featured in Convergence 1.0, replaced in 2.0). A few graphical tweaks have been made, mostly in presentations. On each of the Team Data screens, I have put a year "sticker" on the team helmets (see screenshot gallery). Also, new to the Convergence franchise are the inclusion of All-Time Super Bowl teams. With help from the TecmoBowl.org community, I was able to set an AFC and NFC All-Time Super Bowl roster for play in Pro Bowl mode. I'm sure there are discussions to be had regarding my choices for the team, but keep in mind my selections were based on (a) Super Bowl performance, (b) and player availability. In regards to player availability, one of the reasons that I replaced the '75 Steelers with the '78 team was because I couldn't imagine an AFC all-time Super Bowl team without Mike Webster at center. Mike Webster was on the 1978 team. He was not on the 1975 team. One other major update was the correction of the ROMs simdata. In previous versions of Convergence, it was not uncommon for Walter Payton or Thurman Thomas to lead the league, both in rushing, but also in receiving. In fact, the league's leading receivers were comprised of 95% running backs. This is no longer an issue. I also went back and recompiled defensive player simdata. In short, I figured out that using my editor's "Auto Update All Player Sim Attribute" button was a horrible, HORRIBLE idea and the bane of this ROM's existence. This has been fixed, so expect to see Lawrence Taylor, Rod Woodson, and the like at the top of the league leaderboards. Enjoy! Submitter Baron von Lector Submitted 03/14/2016 Category Misc ROMs

It contains all 26 MLB clubs, the American and National League All-Star teams, and two teams of Legends (featuring the likes of Babe Ruth, Willie Mays, Bob Gibson, etc.). I based the player ratings on their statistics from the 1986 season. The Legends' ratings are based on their career averages, pro-rated over a 162-game season. Enjoy! 10. Blades of Steel - Olympic Hockey Edition View File This is a ROM edit of the original Blades of Steel for the NES, published originally in 1988, but with an Olympic twist to it. Instead of featuring eight professional teams, this ROM features eight countries from around the world, to include: United States, Japan, Switzerland, Canada, England, Russia, Germany, and France. Along with changing the team names, I've edited the uniform colors as well (Canada vs. France depicted the attached screenshots). The acutal gameplay hasn't been changed. This is strictly a presentation modification. Enjoy! Submitter Baron von Lector Submitted 01/22/2016 Category NES

  13. File Name: Tecmo Convergence 2 File Submitter: Baron von Lector File Submitted: 02 Sep 2015 File Category: Misc ROMs This ROM is a NES-exclusive and is an upgrade to the previous SNES/NES Tecmo Convergence that I release a month or so ago. When we last left the battle, in the year 2069, Supreme Emperor Jerry Jones captured 28 of the greatest NFL teams throughout the history of the NFL and put them on the field in his own demented real-life game of fantasy football. The Houston Oilers were promptly destroyed but five more teams entered the fray in hopes of taking their spot, feeling disrespected that Emperor Jerry had overlooked them: the Houston Texans, Tennessee Titans, Baltimore Ravens, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Carolina Panthers. This brings the participant count to an even 32-teams. I used TB.org's base 32-team ROM as the basis of this update. Using Tile-Layer Pro and FCEUX's Hex-Editor, I even dabbled a bit in the realm of sprite and hex editing. Let me know if I've overlooked anything. When transferring some of the data from the SNES ROM to the NES ROM, I found some of the skin colors and faces had to be corrected. Click here to download this file

This is a modernized update of the NES classic, Jordan vs. Bird - One on One, featuring two of the NBA's current premiere players, Lebron James and Carmelo Anthony. Lebron James takes the place of Michael Jordan in this ROM, while Carmelo fills the shoes of Larry Bird. In this ROM, you can participate in a Slam Dunk contest with Lebron, a 3-Point contest with Carmelo, or as the title suggests, one-on-one. In a move that was 100% intentional, instead of his traditional #7 jersey, Carmelo Anthony is wearing a throwback Patrick Ewing (my hero growing up) #33 jersey in this ROM.

The teams included in this ROM are the New York Jets, Oakland Raiders, Kansas City Chiefs, San Diego Chargers, Dallas Cowboys, Cleveland Browns, St. Louis Cardinals, Baltimore Colts, Los Angeles Rams, San Francisco 49ers, Minnesota Vikings, and Chicago Bears. The offensive ratings are based on the statistics for the season. The defensive ratings were a little harder to determine because at this time, sacks totals were not counted so I had to rely on the All Pro and Pro Bowl rosters to determine the ratings. Chances are you DON'T, unless your name is Mort, and even then MAYBE NOT. C'mon yall. This calendar is more dead than a Sean Landeta punt landing inside the 5 yard line. 22. TSB NCAA14 I'm happy that College Football finally embraced the playoff format even if it's only 4 teams. I think 8 will be ideal and it seems to be coming soon with the money it would generate. In the rom, if you want to re-live the 2014 season then you can just play through Week17 and be done. If you prefer to have the end of season bracket like I do then go for it as I left it in. In the schedule, I also tried to add some of the non-conference games that happened in the real season and some of the previous years' bowl games. Schedule: 12 games each Week 13 Rival Week & Army-Navy Game Week 14 Conference Championships Week 15 Bowl Games Week 16 College Football Playoff (Florida State vs Oregon / Ohio State vs Alabama) Week 17 College Football Championship (Ohio State vs Oregon) Features: Team Rankings (not perfect but close) on each of their helmets. I stink at doing helmets so I came up with an idea and Proads26 made it a reality for me. My teams were ranked very close to the USA Today Coaches Poll right after the National Championship. I used bruddog's thread ranking the teams for MAN games as I make roms to play with my friends head to head. I also used some info from Mort's Top20 Matchups thread to make rival games that would be good MAN vs MAN games. My friend and I tried to match the NCAA14 team with a team either similarly ranked from TSB or that had similar roster profile. No, it's not perfect but it's easier than rating every player and I don't have the patience or free time for that type of work. I used a random name generator to do the rosters but then decided to name the QB, RB, WR, TE and a few on defense. Rivalscom and Espncom Stats were used for depth charts and/or the names of the players that played the most. Feel free to open the rom in Tool and fix your team. 24. I started trying to mess around with NBA Jam for the SNES over this past weekend. I thought "NBA Jam was a pretty popular game, maybe it has a nice online community like this one for TSB full of all the info I need to have a good time." Turns out that's not the case. WhiIe was able to find some info out there, my problem is that I've never really done anything with the SNES, so there are some things I don't understand when I'm going through what I've found. I'm having a hard time understanding the way addresses are described in the info I've found. What is $12/B0C9? How do I convert that to a hexadecimal or find that address using a hex editor? In this case, I'm pretty sure the answer is 0x27000, but I have no clue as to the relationship between the two. Also how do I do math with this type of info such as in: "$29/A26B-$29/A2A4 Relative pointers to each team's roster data (added to $16/98CF; in alphabetical order by team name, except All-Stars and Rookies are the last two)" Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  25. Details have finally been hammered out. -Saturday May 18th at the 13th Street Brick house Bar. 2202 South 13th street. Omaha, Nebraska. Just north of Sokol Auditorium -$10 entry fee, with top players winning cash. Pay when you arrive. -10:30 AM registration, with competition begging shortly after 11. The Brickhouse does not serve food, but you are welcome to bring your own during the competition, or order food in. There is at least 6-8 food establishments very close by. Competition set up: - The preliminary round will feature 5 to 6 games for each competitor. This will determine the top players who reach the tournament. -The tournament will feature approximately 10 to 12 players, (depending on the turnout) and they will be seeded accordingly. -The opening round for the lowest seeds will be a single elimination game. -For the final 8 competitors in the tournament, best of 3 series play will ensue, with best of 5 in the championship round. -Numerous teams and match-ups will be used throughout the whole competition. Team Selection process throughout:-The player to win a coin flip will randomly select a team. The other player will verbally name an opposing team. The winner of the coin flip then decides which team he wants to use. The other player then decides if he chooses to be road (bat 1st) or home. Game play rules:-Anything goes style pitching. All 4 pitchers are available for each game. -Infield fly rule can be agreed upon by both parties, but can not enforced by officials. -A game malfunction after 7 innings, results in the team with the lead being awarded a win. This basically never happens, but it needs to be addressed. Otherwise a tie game due to malfunction is ruled as no contest, and the participants start the game over.
