This was a collaborative effort between myself (hex editing), Bodom and stalltalk (ratings). There are 24 teams on the ROM. I kept most of the original teams, with a few exceptions (Hartford out/Anaheim in, San Jose out/Dallas in, New Jersey out/Nashville in, Quebec out/Colorado in). I based the rosters off of the depth charts on RotoWorld.com. Also, to give the game more of a Tecmo feel, I swapped out the main game font and replaced it with the font from Tecmo Super Bowl.

    Tecmo Bowl for NES
  6. Well, I basically want to make a 32-team rom out of one of the Tecmo Street roms I've made (7-man, 50 yd field, etc - jstout thing). The thing is, it's based on 28-team rom. So this leads to the question: what is the best way to take "everything" (graphics, hacks, physics, etc) from this 28-team rom and plug it into a 32-teamer - what code areas should I avoid? I know that the teams will not line up the same, but that's not a big deal. Or - is there a "way" to simply turn any given 28-team rom into a 32-team rom? That would be ideal - because I don't want to change anything else - just the number of teams to 32 (oh, and the mini-helmet screens can change, too). What are the necessary code locations to bring to the 28-teamer?

A requirement is that you need to have your emulator set up such that you have control of the 2nd player controller (or if using an actual NES, a controller in port 2!) . In the emulator I use, I have them both programmed to the same controller/buttons. If you use an emulator that will not allow you to program or play as a 2nd player controller, I have provided a set of roms with the additional "nop2" characters in the rom filename. this "nop2" will play just like the original TSB - MAN will always be player one side when playing COM. -- We must thank the following, because this rom would not be possible without their past or present help: jstout, bruddog, cxrom, bad_al, average tsb player, elway, knobbe, bodom, and xplozv (jstout did not have any direct hand in the making of this ROM, but we thought we should credit him because we used his CIFL 7-on-7 ROM as our base) Enjoy!
  8. File Name: Tecmo NCAA Basketball 2015 File Submitter: Baron von Lector File Submitted: 09 Nov 2015 File Category: NES This ROM is an edit of Tecmo NBA Basketball and is based on the 2014-15 NCAA Basketball season. With the 2015-16 season coming up, I chose to go with last season's rosters due to the fact that I wanted hard data to work with instead of speculative data. So, while there is no Ben Simmons in this ROM, there is plenty of Jahlil Okafor and Rakeem Christmas to go around. There are 27 teams included (see screenshots). To go along with the college rosters, I've edited all of the team logos and court logos. Play in the Carrier Dome! What I think makes this ROM special are the details that give it more of an NCAA-feel. Instead of playing in the NBA Playoffs, take your team through a 16-team March Madness tournament. Simdata had been adjusted so, again, the games feel more NCAA (80-70 games instead of 110-95). I've even included two All-American teams so you can play our own All-American All-Star Game. As a recommendation, set the season length to "Short" (26 games) to closely emulate the length of a typical 30-game NCAA season. There is only one downfall to this ROM that has to be mentioned, however. If you sim a season (with SKP), each team's #1 scorer will average over 60 points per game, while the rest of the team hovers at around 0.1. If anybody knows a fix to this, PLEASE, let me know. This was caused by using the Rabbit NBA Editor program. The workaround to this is by setting all of the teams' controls to COM (not yours) and letting the CPU battle it out. Most emulators have a speed control so you can set these games to 6400% and breeze them by. Enjoy! Click here to download this file

  10. File Name: Tecmo NBA Basketball 2016 File Submitter: Baron von Lector File Submitted: 15 Sep 2015 File Category: NES This ROM is based on the upcoming 2015-2016 NBA season. Using ESPN.com's depth charts, the rosters are accurate as of 9-15-15. Most of the work was done using Emuware's Tecmo NBA Manager, however, there were many aspects of the game that couldn't be changed using the editor. For this, I used FCEUX's hex editor and Tile Layer Pro. Using these additional tools, I was able to update team logos (Oklahoma City Thunder and Washington Wizards), remove obsolete hairstyles (mustaches, boxy flat-tops) and replace them with more current head accessories (long hair, headbands, and Jahlil Okafor's exploding afro), replace instances of "1991-92" with "2015-16", and other miscellaneous items. Along with roster updates, I (to the best of my knowledge) fixed the ratings to reflect the real-life counterparts. However, there is one small minor issue that doesn't affect gameplay, but can be annoying if you're all about 100% accuracy. There are some mercenaries in the game (Festus Ezeli, Mike Miller, Joey Dorsey, and Spencer Hawes) that try to ruin the simulation experience during season play. For some strange reason, these players, regardless of how I rate them (and they're relatively low-rated), end up leading the league in scoring with 30+ points-per-game every season. I don't know why this is. If you can ignore them, right underneath them will be Lebron James, Carmelo Anthony, Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook, and the rest of the NBA elite. Like I said, it's just a small detail issue. There are 27 teams in the game. Nashville, Toronto, and New Orleans were the three teams that were left out. Enjoy! Click here to download this file
  11. This ROM is an update of the “Spring Training” edition. The rosters have been updated, and I updated the ratings to incorporate the new formula I’ve been using for the historical ROMs. The ratings are based on 2014’s statistics with a few “grandfather” exceptions (Alex Rodriguez, Prince Fielder, CC Sabathia). These players are rated on expected stats as opposed to their actual stats. They are better than .000AVG/0HR, .247AVG/3HR, and 3W-4L/5.28ERA, respectively, due to injury and suspension. The most difficult decision was whether or not to include Yu Darvish on the Rangers, even as a #4 starter due to him being out for the entire year after undergoing Tommy John surgery. Ultimately, I omitted him from the roster. When playing, don’t be afraid to dig deep into the bench. Some teams started this year with a handful of starters on the disabled list. They are on the roster, but didn’t make the opening day starting lineup. Don’t be surprised to find a 20+HR/.300+AVG player on the bench. EDIT: A download link would be nice. Linked! 12. This ROM is based on the 1968 NFL season. The teams included in this ROM are the New York Jets, Oakland Raiders, Kansas City Chiefs, San Diego Chargers, Dallas Cowboys, Cleveland Browns, St. Louis Cardinals, Baltimore Colts, Los Angeles Rams, San Francisco 49ers, Minnesota Vikings, and Chicago Bears. The offensive ratings are based on the statistics for the season. The defensive ratings were a little harder to determine because at this time, sacks totals were not counted so I had to rely on the All Pro and Pro Bowl rosters to determine the ratings. 13. TSB NCAA14 I'm happy that College Football finally embraced the playoff format even if it's only 4 teams. I think 8 will be ideal and it seems to be coming soon with the money it would generate. In the rom, if you want to re-live the 2014 season then you can just play through Week17 and be done. If you prefer to have the end of season bracket like I do then go for it as I left it in. In the schedule, I also tried to add some of the non-conference games that happened in the real season and some of the previous years' bowl games. Schedule: 12 games each Week 13 Rival Week & Army-Navy Game Week 14 Conference Championships Week 15 Bowl Games Week 16 College Football Playoff (Florida State vs Oregon / Ohio State vs Alabama) Week 17 College Football Championship (Ohio State vs Oregon) Features: Team Rankings (not perfect but close) on each of their helmets. I stink at doing helmets so I came up with an idea and Proads26 made it a reality for me. My teams were ranked very close to the USA Today Coaches Poll right after the National Championship. I used bruddog's thread ranking the teams for MAN games as I make roms to play with my friends head to head. I also used some info from Mort's Top20 Matchups thread to make rival games that would be good MAN vs MAN games. My friend and I tried to match the NCAA14 team with a team either similarly ranked from TSB or that had similar roster profile. No, it's not perfect but it's easier than rating every player and I don't have the patience or free time for that type of work. I used a random name generator to do the rosters but then decided to name the QB, RB, WR, TE and a few on defense. Rivalscom and Espncom Stats were used for depth charts and/or the names of the players that played the most. Feel free to open the rom in Tool and fix your team. Other features: Even Teams - Army & Navy (DET QB, KC RB, CHI WR, TB OL, RAM DL, NE LB, IND DB, RAM K/P) Worst Possible TSB Roster (Bodom) - Michigan Wolverines Best vs Worst - Pro Bowl aka AllStars - EAS (SF OFF/PIT DEF) vs WES (NE OFF/IND DEF) Offensive Preference Tweaked (Buck) - Heavy Rush 70% (ARM, NAV, GT, WIS) and Heavy Pass 70% (ARZ TCU PSU FSU) Rank NCAA Team (Original TSB) 1 OSU (SF) 2 ORE (PHI) 3 TCU (NYG) 4 ALA (BUF) 5 MSU (CHI) 6 FSU (HOU) 7 GT (KC) 8 BAY (HOU2) 9 GA (RAI) 10 UCL (TB) 11 MIZ (MIA) 12 MSS (DEN) 13 WIS (DET) 14 ASU (RAM) 15 CLM (WAS) 16 BSE (CLE) 17 ARZ (DAL) 18 KST (MIN) 19 OLE (SD) 20 AUB (CIN) 21 NEB (PHX) 22 ND (GB) 23 DUK (SEA) 24 MIN (NO) 25 LSU (PIT) 26 OKL (NYJ) 27 UF (ATL) 28 PSU (NE) 29 IOW (IND) 30 NAV (EVEN) 31 ARM (EVEN) 32 MIC (WORST) Sorry to the fans of Louisville, Utah, U$C, Marshall, Stanford, Arkansas, Miami and Boston College as they were close but didn't make the cut. 15. File Name: Carmelo vs Lebron - One on One File Submitter: Baron von Lector File Submitted: 07 Sep 2015 File Category: NES This is a modernized update of the NES classic, Jordan vs. Bird - One on One, featuring two of the NBA's current premiere players, Lebron James and Carmelo Anthony. Lebron James takes the place of Michael Jordan in this ROM, while Carmelo fills the shoes of Larry Bird. In this ROM, you can participate in a Slam Dunk contest with Lebron, a 3-Point contest with Carmelo, or as the title suggests, one-on-one. In a move that was 100% intentional, instead of his traditional #7 jersey, Carmelo Anthony is wearing a throwback Patrick Ewing (my hero growing up) #33 jersey in this ROM. 16. File Name: Nintendo World Cup 2014 File Submitter: Baron von Lector File Submitted: 06 Sep 2015 File Category: NES Here is an update of the NES classic "Nintendo World Cup." It has updated rosters (to reflect the 2014 World Cup). I also changed the uniforms to closely represent their real-life counterparts. Also, I tweaked the gameplay mechanics a little so that the players on the field run a little faster. A little disclaimer, this ROM was my guinea pig as I figured out how to make ROM modifications and color changes using a hex editor. Enjoy! Click here to download this file
  17. File Name: Tecmo Convergence 2 File Submitter: Baron von Lector File Submitted: 02 Sep 2015 File Category: Misc ROMs This ROM is a NES-exclusive and is an upgrade to the previous SNES/NES Tecmo Convergence that I release a month or so ago. When we last left the battle, in the year 2069, Supreme Emperor Jerry Jones captured 28 of the greatest NFL teams throughout the history of the NFL and put them on the field in his own demented real-life game of fantasy football. The Houston Oilers were promptly destroyed but five more teams entered the fray in hopes of taking their spot, feeling disrespected that Emperor Jerry had overlooked them: the Houston Texans, Tennessee Titans, Baltimore Ravens, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Carolina Panthers. This brings the participant count to an even 32-teams. I used TB.org's base 32-team ROM as the basis of this update. Using Tile-Layer Pro and FCEUX's Hex-Editor, I even dabbled a bit in the realm of sprite and hex editing. Let me know if I've overlooked anything. When transferring some of the data from the SNES ROM to the NES ROM, I found some of the skin colors and faces had to be corrected. Click here to download this file

  24. I have my first 2 videos of the season that I started. They are full games with commentary. I had to do the first video at night, and so it's a bit quiet... but the 2nd video is my best recording I've ever done. Great game! Game 1 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HvWibgaEm4U&list=UU4nB2hdOPKCLfxAz6BsneHg&feature=c4-overview Games 2 and 3 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qeqfOiU7aAI&list=UU4nB2hdOPKCLfxAz6BsneHg&feature=c4-overview Thanks for watching. God Bless All of You!
  25. Who should I run with for a seasonal TSB NES gameplay? I'm considering the PHX cardinals... I want to do video on a team that either isn't picked a whole lot, OR is a team without a super bowl victory like maybe PHX or SEA or SD. Any ideas?
