I will buy everyone who beats me a shot, as is tradition.
Good to see Ira signed up!
Buck? Luke? Nick L? Where you at? (says the guy who hasn't shown in 3 years)

We miss Moulds33! Good to hear from you though!
I miss you guys too. I'm definitely maybe gonna try to hopefully attend the Lincoln Tourney barring any kid birthday party emergencies. I haven't touched an NES controller since the last Madison the Holzy bros ran. Rumor around Lincoln is that the Godfather is pulling out all the stops for this one.

Glad to see you guys are still doing this tourney, good group of guys. Got some big hitters there this year too.
I just wanted to say I watched a little of the stream and it was excellent. Well done gents!

I'm having a tournament every weekend in 2019. You can stay with @moulds33
This is true, my kids need a father anyways. But seriously you and Lou are welcome to stay here anytime.

I hope you guys have a blast. I'm out unless my wife & kids leave me beforehand, then I'm in for sure.

Yeah, they somehow made Star Wars not fun even though the sound/graphics are amazing. I played for a couple months pretty hard and then completely lost interest. Real bummer.
I'm addicted to Rocket League now, can't recommend it enough and I'm still fairly terrible at it. My brother got me hooked, he kept trying to get me to play for months but I thought "soccer with rocket cars sounds really dumb". I was wrong, it's amazing. Like Tecmo, it's very easy to play but incredibly hard to master.
Looking forward to Battefield 1, hopefully it's as fun as it looks so far.

Is it worth getting a playstation for? Have heard good things. I like quick games.
Have not upgraded since ps2. But PlayStation Vue just came to MN where I can cut my directv bill out which was over $100 as well.
You can get PlayStation Vue on the Amazon fire stick as well, but I dont need to mention that to the wife, and the Vue may be the trojan horse that gets me a new video game system in the house.
I've finally started playing this recently and I'm hooked. My PSN is Karl_Hungus_33 is anybody wants to party up. Like Tecmo, it's easy to play but really hard to master.
I saw this on ESPN today, some pretty cool goals. Those aerials are so hard, but these guys make it look easy.

Is the golf the usual three click power/accurate??
You can play that way, yes. But the "tour" difficulty setting is all swinging with the left stick (or right I think you can change preferences). It was really hard at first but I'm getting the hang of it now. It's a little like batting in the MLB the show games with the ball just sitting on the ground. If you're off just a little bit it's water or heavy rough. Seems like the ball is a magnet for the water. The elevation changes and wind are the hardest things to figure out but I'm slowly getting there. Putting isn't bad at all.

I haven't got to play as much SF5 yet as I'd hoped.
The golf is fun, but I think it'd be a lot better with other players online. It'll get old fast by yourself. I'm playing on the "Tour" setting which is pretty hard at first but I'm getting the hang of it now.
-
Anyone playing either of these? I'm still breaking my cherry on SFV but I was curious if anyone else plays. I make a good punching bag if you need a sparring partner.
And for golf, does anyone ever play this game anymore? Are the online tourneys any fun? I picked it up for $20 and thought I'd give it a go.

I erred on a VERY IMPORTANT rom question that someone asked me..what is the probability of the panty shot. I think i said 33%. Its acutally 50%. In one halftime is the final scene and in another it comes before the kiss.
This is why he's the best folks!!!

If Fantasy Factory is on tap at Badger Bowl, the Plaza, or whichever bar you're at, make sure to order one. The premier Madison IPA at the moment. Also the best bottle packaging ever.
If anyone is looking to kill time and/or drink beers upon arrival at the airport, the city of Madison is happy to offer you a microbrewery outpost in the actual airport, then a better microbrewery itself within a mile of the airport. Very good beer/ambiance here: http://aleasylum.com/aboutus-info/aboutus-location/
I didn't even see your post until now, but that's what I was drinking at the Plaza. Good stuff!

Looking at this it's amazing that there are more members in the midwest than all other regions combined. I realize this site is frequented by folks involved with Madison / etc. but it is still puzzling to me. Surely the northeast, south and west have just as many tecmoers. But for whatever reason they aren't as involved in online tecmo.
I honestly think it's because of the winter weather in the midwest. We played a ton of tecmo, but it was mainly when the weather was too crappy outside to do anything else.

Here's a few of my quick thoughts on TecmoXII. Read Psycho's blog if you want a good one. His recap is always great and this year was no exception.
Good:
Gats winning it & playing lights out all day.
"The Kid" & Kyle coming out of nowhere!
Sega's Bo-igi Board (full beers only please)
Meeting Leif Powers, super nice guy. Hopefully a bunch of you guys got to chat him up.
The large number of tight pants & attractive girls around the tourney for once (JimSock's friend's old lady wins, blonde TV gal 2nd, tight pants TV 3rd, pregnant orenga posse member was a serious darkhorse as well)
Luke having a 20 minute convo with our cab driver while piss drunk discussing (our fictional 2nd & 3rd place finishes, kids, astrology, college life, & other amazing topics) Wish I had recorded it!
Dave hugs (duh)
Late night gyros with Luke, Coco, & Beefy (probably saved our lives, no food would have been a bad choice)
#BurningMort - just watching the mail now for my July 23, 2016 "save the date" magnet.
Casey's breakfast pizza (seriously how can Wiscy have no Casey's? #EPICFAIL) Thankfully we made Dubuque by around 10.
Knobbe bringing his "9 incher" so we could play tecmo during the car ride up.
It was awesome meeting a bunch of new guys (Flash, Raguse, DT, SuperDuper, Invader, Grip, Laz, probably missing a few) and seeing all the old friends again.
Looking over late Friday night, realizing I'm in a room playing Gats while Mort plays Bruddog on the other TV. (Tecmo heaven?)
The whole tourney and the way it was always ran through the years. Just an awesome job again everybody that helps out!!!
Bad:
No sleep friday night
Forgetting my "eat shit orenga" bracelet at home
Iowa's speed limits from the 1970s
Bailey having to leave early & not getting to chat at the Plaza (hope everything's cool now)
Knobbe bailing on us and flying home so we couldn't play tecmo on the way back
Thinking Flo was short for some reason
Super 8 TV being smarter than me
My photo/camera bomb of Orenga's ESPN interview that never made air.
My ebay ordered Moulds jersey not making it in time (dude says he "lost it", wtf)
No Butt Douglas or Lodgefather to watch the Elite 8 games with.
Ugly:
Cute bartender (aka fancy pants) Friday night after I ask if she was working during the tourney, "yeah, but I heard you guys are kinda smelly" (she's not wrong)
Dotdon's intoxication level (love you man, but you were in rare form!)
Toolie's playbook vs
MortLou on Friday night (Chris Pike blows that shitty reverse up everytime!) Sorry I was drunk and giving you so much shit. (not really sorry)Tick "holding" Regulator to 49 points. One of the better tweets of the day!
Sega forgetting his Mydol and not going out Saturday night
Not getting out of bounds to attempt a FG in the winner's bracket champ game, then losing the OT coin toss & game. (GG Matt)
Two non-drinkers and (probable) virgins playing in the finals (maybe its for the best to shut this thing down now) - jk
Thanks for the memories and hangovers Madtown!!!!

the people's champ! i saw him a lot early on at the Group 30 station, drawn there like a moth to the flame it seemed...... well either that or the scent of blood on the controllers...... whatever the reason, he was in TOP shape! truly inspirational
This f'ing guy! He was in room 131, right next to us. I left Lou's room after playing some scrims vs Gats around 1:15 to try to get some sleep and I bet I didn't get more than 1-2 hours of sleep all night. This dude keep laughing and talking about rap music and somebody's sentencing hearing coming up. They didn't shut up the whole night. Had no idea they were tecmoers.
So then we are walking out of the hotel heading over to Perkins for breakfast and we see this guy at the pool pounding a beer at 8:30am. A few hours later I go to the lodge room to check on Luke and he tells me that the loud/drunk guy is in the group next to him (DT's group I think) and the only reason he knows it's the same guy is by his maniacal laugh and over .35 BAC level. What a legend!

I like being right next to group 30. That will be an interesting one to watch. I also want to see Group 26 and Group 32. This region may be the toughest from a depth perspective, I think you could point to 25 or more players that have a legit shot to make the 16 for the bracket. May see the Elite 8 dark horse come from Dillon.
It parties the hardest anyways.

ATL vs CLE - Miller & Rison vs Bernie & Slaughter, Think it comes down if Bernie or Rozier has more yards on the ground
SEA Vs CLE - 69 pc Kreig vs 75 PC Browns,
MIN vs RAMS - MN has much better D, but that Rams Passing game is so nasty
MIN vs KC - Seems like an even matchup I have not seen called before even though KC seems to be the favorite here.
ATL vs CLE - I'm a CLE guy here, never had luck with ATL in live action.
SEA Vs CLE - CLE here too, need those scrambles with Bern. And we all know Clay Matthews plays well above his stats.
MIN vs RAMS - I'd lean LA, but it's a personal preference thing. (never seen this one live, not a bad matchup though at all)
MIN vs KC - I would take KC here, but interestingly enough I played Donkey Tunch in my Tomczak Bowl pool 3-4 years ago for shots over this very matchup. I took MIN for giggles and actually ended up winning thanks to a ....wait for it... Okoye fumble. I know, shocker.

Considering that is synonymous with @averagetsbplayer I would say it is at least 16k.
Luke C. once informed Orenga that "the garbage man doesn't come on Saturdays" at a Tomczak Bowl a few years ago.
And where is that Dillon Region preview? Must be a doozy!
