  1. Johnny Johnson sucks. I'd much rather orchestrate my PHX power running game with Ricky Proehl at the helm. Ron Wolfley, on the other hand, is a beast. (And yes, if anyone was wondering, this post could be considered trolling)
  2. Week 1: The defense puts a consistent effort together as the Titans' shut-out the Bucs. >https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A0scV7-zT-Y
  3. Match 5: Japan is on a tear. But it would be a mistake to count out Spain, who won the 2008 and 2012 European Cup, not to mention they are the DEFENDING WORLD CUP CHAMPION. (2010). >https://youtu.be/VrWPMOw2k0E
  4. Match 4: Japan has had incredible success in the Asian Football Cup the last two decades. Can East Asian neighbor Russia dial in an upset? >https://youtu.be/0FuhRF8JtmY
  5. Match 4: Japan finds a late groove and sends the French packing in their 110th year of international play. >https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7QGLwgy7f4Q&feature=youtu.be
  6. Week 7: Packers vs Chiefs, i.e., rematch of Super Bowl I. >https://youtu.be/71YVYwb3ot0

  8. Match 2: USA gets on the board first. How will the Samurai Blue respond? >https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4FXeC1zqorA&feature=youtu.be
  9. That's amazing! I was lucky enough to watch two matches from this past World Cup in the presence of German fans. I got the sense that their fandom ran deep -- they were excited Germany won it all, but the fans' time together seemed to be even more about the shared experience as a community than it was about the sport itself. I found to be a greatly rewarding experience. "Walking the ball into the goal" is an extremely effective method on the lower tier teams, but probably boring to watch. I always treat the first couple games as practice and really ramp up the score. Having just played France in the third match, I'm happy to see that the difficulty has already progressed significantly.
  10. Is it clear which of the original Mario trilogy is the greatest? For me there is no contest. https://100nesgames.wordpress.com/2015/09/22/super-mario-bros-3-nes-review/
  11. One of the reasons this rom is so timely: the 2014 World Cup was Germany's first since 1990, and their first since reunification.
  12. Match 1: just like I remembered, Cameroon is not much of a contest. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YYlywsIzLfs&feature=youtu.be
  13. I am trying out Baron von Lector's rom Nintendo World Cup 2014. Fun stuff! I'll be posting vids of my conquest with Japan.
  14. Will do! After watching the Packers get revenge on the Seahawks last night on Sunday Night Football, I am all the more excited about this Packers team. Week 6: the Chargers try to keep pace with the Pack in this high-scoring affair. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2gxrdEcp6Jw&feature=youtu.be
  15. week 5: The Packers suffer injuries to their top offensive stars, but their defense holds strong. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6GORWta4sJk&feature=youtu.be
  16. Has anyone ever tried playing a season scoring points only by safeties? I've done boatloads of 'defense + special teams only' seasons, but this new idea -- if it is new -- intrigues me. I'd like to try this out with Mariota's Titans, using TSBorg's 2016 rom. You know what would be a crazy addendum? Is if you could only play on defense as a safety. Ha!
  17. http://tecmobowl.org/topic/53857-saving-games/ Here I read the tip about emulator FCEUX. I just open this file instead of Nestopia, then 'open' my rom of choice. When I'm about to begin my Tecmo match, I go: File > AVI/WAV > Record AVI. Then I do the same except > Stop AVI when the game is done. After that I upload to youtube (which sometimes takes a while). Sorry if that's TMI. I may do a season of your World Cup rom and record them. Making vids is super fun!
  18. Week 4: It's hard to believe the Packers have lost to the 49ers in their last four meetings: twice each in the regular season and post-season. What will be the outcome today? >https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DppwizPuQ_U
  19. Week 3: Packers take on the Chiefs for a Super Bowl 1 rematch. >https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TuD2QUNoXWk
  20. Thanks. I love playing on the whole 'majik man thing,' especially since Donny boy did piddles for the Packers compared to the two legends who succeeded him (although he did have a rather impressive '89 outing). And that wasn't the only time Marshawn caughed it up, too! Final stat line -- Lynch with 8 carries for 7 yds, plus three fumbles! If things go the same way for the Packers on Sunday Night, I'll be one happy camper.
  21. Week 2: Can Eddie Lacy outrun the Seattle Seahawks' Marshawn Lynch? https://youtu.be/nODh87D1low
  22. I thought I would do a Packers season and see how things panned out. Go Pack Go!!! Week 1: Eddie Lacy rushes for 429 yd on a mere 14 carries. Not bad, Eddie, not bad. http://youtu.be/g54lgwSwRx8
  23. Sadly, I believe I ended up losing in the first round of the playoffs. But a hard drive wipe obliterated what had become a meticulously kept season. Maybe I'll have to give it another shot! Once upon a time, I came across this pic. Apparently, the Wolf Man was a special teams guru back in the day:
