  1. http://host.madison.com/wsj/news/local/tecmo-fans-enjoy-a-nostaligic-tournament/article_e8fb2538-83a1-11e2-83c6-001a4bcf887a.html I love that EAT SHIT ORENGA made it into that shot. No wonder the photo got cropped in the print version.
  2. Had a blast this year. It was cool seeing folks again and meeting a bunch more people as well. Went 2-2 again which I've now dubbed myself Mister .500. Thanks to Josh and Chet and the others who made Tecmo IX an amazing time. Looks like I made it into the Journal Sentinel today too. I made sure to grab a copy on the way out of town.
  3. Josh reading from the book of LT. http://youtu.be/a7p0ynesAlk
  4. I wish I was gonna be there tonight. Maybe next year I'll come up the night before.
  5. Crazy. I have a video from Tomczak Bowl IV of the final minutes of the championship game. I really need to upload that one. It's pretty insane.
  6. Here's another video I took last year at Madison VIII http://youtu.be/LO24iMhbdgE
  7. Giving a shout out to some of the top guys from Tomczak V back in December. From a field of 52, Luke C. walked away champion, not losing a single game. Runner-up was Steven M. (Meest) who shows up in the Jim Jensen Region, Group V. A relative unknown to the Madison crowd, he could certainly turn some heads.
  8. I found my archived footage from Tecmo VIII. I'm going to try to upload more to YouTube tomorrow. Of everything I found I have: An extended version of the YouTube video I currently have up. An interview with Mort and his brother. A quick talk with Tony O's "posse" Josh reading from the book of LT.
  9. Its been readily available for a while now. A YouTube search of "Tecmo Madison" will pull it up. I have more clips but that was the only one my lazy ass ever got around to uploading online.
  10. This is the kind of hard-hitting coverage I'll bring. Apologies to the Vogt brother we called "Urfatter".
  11. I'm interested in possibly doing this. Of course after so many PBRs expect shaky camera work and inappropriateness. I may also interview people as if they're the actual player on their jersey again.
  12. Thankfully I noticed this rule before Tomczak V and instituted it. We have some friends that play every year that really don't know the game at all so there were some pretty bad blowouts in group play.
  13. Just wanted to say thanks to Tony O. and anyone else that helped add the Tomczak Bowl V results to everyone's profiles on the Madison site.
  14. I got a hotel near Badger Bowl. I'm ok not being downtown if other people will be hanging around the hotel for some after-tourney Tecmo and beers.
  15. Given their play at Tomczak Bowl V, I hope 8-Bit and his brothers get in. They're definitely ballers.
  16. Although, your trophy won't be as sweet as ours was.
  17. I'm looking forward to it. Tomczak Bowl served as a nice primer leading up to this.
  18. Congrats to Luke C. for winning Tomczak Bowl V and taking home that sweet trophy. I'm happy I made it to the round of 26 at least. The level of competition was incredible. Between the Nebraska crew, the Burkhardt brothers and their QB armband crib sheets, and the folks from around Waterloo and elsewhere in Eastern Iowa, some great Tecmo was played. There was an epic quarterfinal game between Gridiron and someone else who I can't recall right now (Niners/Raiders) that went into OT. A friend of mine afterwards exclaimed, "That was the greatest game of Tecmo I've ever seen in my life." Another amazing moment was in group play there was the rare WR tipped pass that was intercepted by Rod Woodson. That's like seeing a Sasquatch in the Tecmo world. Jake and Justin, the two Waverly guys were a crack up the whole time and pretty damn good players too. Later on they even had groupies there cheering them on. Overall the whole tourney was a success and I look forward to doing it again next year. Pencil in 12-14-13 in your calendar.
  19. It depends. Our group has stuck around Spicoli's before, otherwise we've headed over to College Hill in Cedar Falls and hit the bars over there. I do know Spicoli's has live music that night (tourney participants won't need to pay cover if they stick around). I'm not sure what kind of music it is. A lot of their acts tend to be more metal/hard rock. We'll have to play it by ear.
  20. ONLY FOUR DAYS AWAY! I'm extremely pumped up for this. We're starting check-in at noon so be there on time please. Also, we have like 5 or 6 openings right now, so if you are someone you know would still like in register now. Whether you're a Tecmo veteran or just a casual player who wants to have fun and hang out, we welcome everyone to take part. To register go here: http://tecmotourney.blogspot.com/2012/08/tomczak-bowl-v-registration.html Thanks and see you all on Saturday!
  21. LOL! Moulds was right, although I do love me some Old Style. Aside from Templeton I think we'll have some beer from Peace Tree Brewery out of Knoxville, IA. They make some tasty beer.
