  1. Since I have been summoned, and because I didn't put cards up this weekend, today will be yet another double dip. I present to you a legend: #37 -- L. Ron Haddix
  2. One of my personal favorite trading cards of all time: #20 -- Skunker
  3. The story that SonofPatBeach is authoring can no longer be topped. I can only hope he will continue to bathe us in his journey of discovery. I am offering two pleasure sacrifices via Tecmo trading cards to entice his infinitely deep lexicon reservoir . #50 -- Grogan and Testaverde #24 -- ???????
  4. Because people have been clamoring for them, today will be a bonus card day. Maybe one more later on, too. #46 -- Nutsack #23 -- Air Bontempo
  5. Now, onto the greatest video documentary ever witnessed. Behold! North Dakota Tecmo: Is There Anybody Out There?

  7. Below are the final results for the Tecmo Ryder Cup. However, just like any legendary event, the final outcome is only the final bullet point in a long list of events. Before the last session, the scores were as follows: Team Madison: 9 2/3 points Team ND: 8 1/6 points Team World: 7 5/6 points Team MN: 7 1/3 points Fairly close between all teams, with Team World and Team MN within 1 win of 2nd place and Team ND within 1 win of the top spot. However, the final singles round was dominated by team Madison, resulting in the finals scores here: Team Madison: 16 2/3 points Team MN: 10 5/6 points Team World: 9 5/6 points Team ND: 8 2/3 points Team Madison has regained the cup and has a target on their back once again. Retrospectives of this event are sure to happen. I will be posting videos on this site that were shown during the event as well as revealing one Tecmo trading card each day until the full set is revealed (51 days of card reveals). Get used to it. Thanks to all that came to enjoy the event -- we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did!
  8. How about this for an update. Everybody wins. This is not me by the way.
  9. One day before The Cup. North Dakota is excited to host such a prestigious event. Please post here or shoot Leonardite or myself a text/email if you would like to coordinate travel plans or drinking plans for tonight or tomorrow. Here's one last trading card revealed before the big event. Enjoy!
  10. Just a quick heads up. Because of some travel plans of competitors, we are going to be pushing the start time back to 12:00, noon. You have two options for transportation: 1) Drive yourself: Meet at Davenport (90 1st Ave, Davenport ND 58021) at 11:30 to get shuttled out to Leonard, ND 2) Get a ride from Fargo: Meet in Fargo at the Vista Inn and Suites (1340 South 21st Avenue, Fargo, ND 58103) at 11:15 to get picked up by a van This information has been updated on the front page as well. Also, here's another teaser.
  11. A little teaser for those attending the ND Ryder Cup. More where this comes from. 3 days until a champion is crowned.
  12. I think a really great hotel that is downtown and even with decent rates ($90 for 2 queens) is the Howard Johnson (hojo.com). Walking distance to all the downtown bars and not too far for the driver to go and pick people up in the morning. Candlewood Suites is right by the airport and has very nice $95 rooms available. It is about a $10 cab ride downtown (5-10 minutes). The Red River Lodge and Suites is about $70, easy to get to off of I-94 and is a $10-15 cab ride downtown (10-15 minutes). There are a couple bars close by as well. Used to be a Red Roof Inn, a staple of any North Dakota traveling Tecmoer. Probably not as nice as the others, but average. Closest for the shuttle van in the morning as well.
  13. Best case scenario for general circumstances and travel: People stay in Fargo Friday Night People either drive their cars out to Davenport Saturday Morning -or- people leave their car in Fargo and get picked up by me in a 15-passenger van on the way out to Davenport We all travel together to and from the event locations in the van(s) We play the final games in Davenport and party hard Everyone stays in Davenport on Saturday People either drive their cars back to their respective states -or- I drive them back to their cars in Fargo via 15-passenger van Coconuts -- if you do fly and need some help with lodging or travel, just shoot me a text/email/PM
  14. For Friday night if you are really wanting to get by on the cheap, accommodations can be made available in Davenport. However, I would strongly suggest getting a hotel room in Fargo for Friday night. Davenport has little to offer the Tecmo tourist other than a post office and a bar. Fargo is a much more attractive option and the Ryder Cup hosts would be willing to paint the town red in anticipation of the events to come. As for the night of the event (Saturday), a hotel room is not necessary and is advised against. I have 3 futon mattresses, 3 couches, 1 recliner, 2 blow up beds, 2 regular beds, 1 pull out couch, 1 RV with 3 beds and an amalgamation of sleeping bags and cots. You should bring blankets and pillows as necessary because I will not have enough, but there is more than enough room for everybody to sleep.
  15. Quick question: Is the Cup going to be making an appearance? We certainly hope so. If there is no Cup to be had, we need to get something done pronto. Please let me know ASAP if it isn't so we can make some magic happen. The organizers have been discussing and want to point out a few different aspects of this event for the competitors: This event costs money for the competitors, but it is not a monetary payout event. Payouts will be payed in gloating rights. We will be using the funds for drinks, food, travel costs, ambiance and player shwag. We promise that you will get your money's worth out of the event, but we also promise you will walk away with $25 less in your pocket after all is said and done. Sidebets are excluded from this conversation and are encouraged at all times. When we get to Leonard for the morning sessions, there will be food and drinks available for purchase -- they will be cheap, we promise. When we get to Davenport for the afternoon/evening sessions, there will be food and drinks for free -- they will also be brought directly to you by a server.
  16. Leonardite and I are working on this to create the correct verbage, but here it goes. As far as team selection: Teams can be utilized only once per team. No teams are excluded. As far as players go: There are 12 Singles Matches total for each team Each player on the team must play 3 Singles Matches Each Player must play at least 2 different teams in Singles Matches Each team member MUST play in each Group Session No team member can play 50% or more of the total Doubles Matches Leonardite remembers the rules better and, frankly, is better at this information. I vaguely recall the team selection rules from the previous Ryder Cup. We are getting together in the next two days to look at and finalize the matchup details, but the process you had at the previous Ryder Cup was pretty cut and dry. We are trying to emulate that. If you have any suggestions on this, we are pretty open. We want to have everybody play as equally as possible without taking strategy out of the equation. We also want to eliminate 27 matchups of Bengals vs. Bucs.
  17. With the North Dakota hosted Tecmo Ryder Cup buzz at an all-time high, I thought it would be time to cool some people off with some of the preliminary session and game assignments. We are still playing around with a couple of final touch ideas. There may be a crowning 2-game match to determine the be-all, end-all Tecmo Champions of the World between the top two teams. Also, there might not. And remember, this only matters if Team World decides to grace us with their presence. Leonard Session 1.pdf Davenport Session 2.pdf After you take a peek at those professionally crafted documents, please warm yourself up for the Ryder Cup once again.
  18. This event is going to be great, but there is one thing that has me completely miffed. Where the hell is Durch? A Tecmo event without a Durch is hardly a Tecmo event at all.
  19. Love to hear it (I think)! Team Greater Wisconsin would be at a loss without you on their side. With this addition, it looks like we are 1 player short of 4 teams. Team Madison is set -- (Josh, Chet, Rikster, Garbage) Team Dakota is set -- (Frolf, Leonardite, Bob Nelson, Bryce) Team Minnesota is set -- (Ed, QB Browns, Sconnie, ArtVandelay) Team Greater Wisconsin (or Team World, your call) is one player short -- 1. Rico 2.Coconuts 3.Butt Douglas 4.???????? Who's going to fill this squad out? If worse comes to worse, we have some local players. But that would be a "desperate measures for desperate times" scenario. What say you all? DotDon made other plans and now can no longer make it. Can we get the collective together and brainstorm one more sucker for this event? Time is dwindling.
  20. Team Dakota has the rights to all large rocky carvings. A name change is imminent.
