There's this... looks like the plan was to go for as many INTs as possible. >https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nqs-H9lhVQo

BIG BUG...game is always loading the worst avoid kick value
toolie replied to bruddog's topic in ROM Editing Discussion
This would make sense, given the number of times I've seen Leahy get his shit blocked by Ken Harvey. -
What's stopping you?

Interception or reception on tipped balls?
toolie replied to drake's topic in ROM Editing Discussion
I think it would be cool if every defender had a chance to JJ int every QB. Could be very low chances but it would at least add a little more risk in throwing timed JJ routes and throwing into coverage. Has this been done? -

Did the tackle thing ever get figured out?
toolie replied to drake's topic in ROM Editing Discussion
It has been implemented in leagues. Here is the most recently uploaded HSRL boxscore; you can see the tackles listed for each defensive player. They're also tracked on the totals on the stats pages for DL, LB, and DB. Other leagues that I know for sure track tackles are WTF:Retro an WTF:2.0 http://www.hsrl.puretecmo.com/main/dsp_recap.php?gID=93 -
Tecmo actually implements missed kick inside 20 correctly
toolie replied to bruddog's topic in Tecmo Super Bowl - NES
What kind of stiff misses a kick from inside the 20? Here's an example at the 4:30 mark. The next play is 3rd down, but you can see the sticks are at the 20 and 30 yard lines. >https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L3-v0JnDF68 -
Many thanks to all who came out and played, all that helped run the show and the stream, the staff at Hoops, and all those who brought equipment. The Kumite is not quite yet officially over due to the $100 Super Bowl Special that O'Dell and I decided to offer. The deal was if anyone who played a NE/SEA match-up had their game score match the Super Bowl outcome exactly, then each competitor in that game would receive $50. Looking over the results page, the game was only played four times, and these are the outcomes where two competitors would win some dough. SEA 35 - NE 17 SEA 28 - NE 0 NE 28 - SEA 0 SEA 41 - NE 3 My day started out great with a 6-0 start, but I lost a pair of close games to Diaz and O'Dell to limp into the final 8 and then ran into Tyson, where I landed a jab to go up 3-0 and then couldn't avoid the uppercuts. Congrats to all the winners! It was a great day.

There's North Dakota folks making the drive from Fargo. Don't know whether a carpool would be feasible given sonofpatbeach's limited understanding of Dakotan geography, and the fact that he has never been sober in either state. -

I think being able to call the matchup is extremely important, especially if you know your opponent's strengths. -

Have a great tournament, guys! -
With these probabilities, the long-term distribution of conditions would be roughly Bad: 12% Average: 74% Good: 12% Excellent: 2%

There are a ton of hotels in the vicinity of the bar, which is very close to the Palace of Auburn Hills. This link should give you an idea of what's available. http://www.hotels.com/search.do?resolved-location=CITY:1448817:UNKNOWN:UNKNOWN&destination-id=1448817&q-destination=Auburn%20Hills,%20Michigan,%20United%20States%20of%20America&q-localised-check-in=01/23/15&q-localised-check-out=01/25/15&q-rooms=1&q-room-0-adults=2&q-room-0-children=0&sort-order=DISTANCE_FROM_LANDMARK&sort-lid=1672067 The Pistons are out of town that weekend and I don't see any events scheduled for that weekend. Maybe we should have held the tournament there. Maybe if we get a bit bigger in the future... Looks like hotels nearby can be got for as low as $55 (right now anyway).

One of my favorite Reg posts (from the Kumite I thread): "Want to hear some Tecmo dedication? My wife is 100% anti video games. She knows that I have wanted to buy a PS3 for some time now. Friday night we went out to eat and to deter me from Detroit and Madison trips, she says "You're going to hate me." I ask "Why?" She responds "I know you have wanted to get a PS3 for a while now, so if you skip your tecmo tournaments, I'll let you buy one. What's it going to be?" I respond without a moments hesitation "tecmo." She seethes and proceeds not to speak to me for the rest of the night. I feel no remorse and even some satisfaction. :)" I see she's pulled the heavy artillery (baby on the way) to put the kibosh on Madison! Glad you can still make Detroit. Posted are the team breakdowns from last year's tournament (one game is missing and I don't want to recount to find it). Most popular teams: DAL (15), DET (14), DEN (13). Undefeated teams: MIA (4-0), IND (1-0, a 6-3 slobberknocker in round 5, O'Dell over Kevin Cabarello). Best win % (min. 5 games): PIT, GB, SF all were 4-1 Worst win % (min. 5 games): PHI, ATL both went 1-4 Craziest matchups (just like, my opinion, man): DET/HOU, DAL/NYG, BUF/CIN, NYJ/SF, NYJ/DET kumite2014_breakdown_pg2.pdf

Good luck to all, and have a great tournament. Wish I could be there. -
So I redid the matrix with the new transition probabilities. After 6 games (3 condition changes per game) the actual conditions of non-injury prone players was B: 20.3% A: 35.3% G: 32.5% E: 12.0% And the computation (T^18)([0 1 0 0]') yields B: 18.2% A: 34.8% G: 31.8% E: 15.2% Pretty close to the actual distribution. Steady-state values for each condition (as t goes to infinity) given these probabilities are B: 16.7% (1/6) A: 33.3% (1/3) G: 33.3% (1/3) E: 16.7% (1/6)

I ran a league like this while I was in college. It took about a semester to complete (all 28 teams manned by a unique owner). It worked really well with the talent disparity. I recall teams that won the Super Bowl were GB, PHX, SEA, BUF, GIA, SF, RAM, TB and some teams that lost in the super bowl were CLE, HOU, JET, SD, WAS... The league even continued for about 2 years after I graduated. Playoffs were done in a one-night extravaganza with entrance music. Good times. The toughest thing was getting people to play their games in sequence. With no cell phones I had to do a lot of hunting people down and scheduling games. It beat studying.
