  1. >> UPDATE [04.12.09]: **See First Post for 'To-Do List'. Here's an example of what the playbook screen will now look like with the selection QB Priority taken into account. Should be good for players of all TSB experience levels. The bigger project coming up will be re-assinging defensive roles for the DBs and LBs. NOTE: This is not what NYG's playbook will be like. It's simply for testing purposes.
  2. Yeah, some of the SIM issues in Tecmo, I've found, are not editable from our standard SIM stats editing applications that BAD_AL and the like have created. For example, the rediculous sim stats for QBs. Every version of TSB has this issue. Could it be fixed? Likely. I am not the TSB-brotha to do that, however.
  3. Correct. Under the new format, what I'm working with (and actually just finished up last night, in terms of rough draft) is the selection priority for QBs in determinging who to throw to. To make this super short, because I could write about this at length: A QB will have two top choices. The first selection is his Priority, he'll gun for this WR the majority of the time. Second selection's chance is a little less than half the Priority WR. 3rd string, 4th, and 5th (depending on the Passing Play Pattern) all are at the end of the boat. They still get looks, just not as many. I've varied it up for the play selection, so that it coincides with my defensive schematic. So now, basically, 'SHORT' passes are now 'SHORT PASSES', intended for tight-ends and the such. Vica versa, Hailmary's are now the target of, mainly, WR1 and WR2. I've also changed the game graphically in the play selection screen to list Priorities WRs 'ONE' and 'TWO' for the player's knowledge base. I've also stripped the game of the oft-happening QB scramble, it's basically, non-existent now. The QB is also less likely to take a sack (because of being idle) and more likely to ZIP that F'N ball out to a WR, which has developed for some major NFL-style 'hit-em-on-the-go' kind of play. All-in-all, this update is shaping up to be world changing for my views on the possibilities of Tecmo Super Coach for 2009-10.
  4. >> UPDATE [04.12.09]: **See First Post for 'To-Do List'. Defensive Playbook Reaction ovehaul complete! Today I spent all day re-tooling the Defensive Reactions to the RUN Playbooks. It's as tight as it's ever been. I'm pumped. Now I plan to use the knowledge Jstout schooled me in and do a complete revamp of the QB WR selection priority. This is where things should get pretty awesome.

  6. Go, go, go! I am always interested in the creations of others (or modifications, as it may be). Go, bro, go!
  7. I noticed this too. Somewhere on the forum there is a thread where CX-ROM addressed this, and said it would be fixed for whenever the next version of TSB Tool comes out. Someone please correct me if this is inaccurate.
  8. Honestly, I think that drummer's, Yak's and this rom have the Packers as far too overrated and the Vikings too underrated And, like Yak, you spelt Rodgers wrong in Aaron Rodgers. i think you might be mistaking that i have them underrated because i don't have in their complete starting line-up, barring injuries. if everyone in minnesota that should be in the starting line-up (who had season or near season-long injuries) was in, i expect minnesota would be a little more dominant. i also think aaron rodgers is misspelled in mine and other roms because a. i misspelled it, and b. other roms (likely not drummer's) are using the spreadsheet rosters i created using jeid's template. when it comes to offensive stats, every player in my rom uses a formula via the type of stats within their position they earned during the season--there is little exception. i think instead of generalities, you should back up your arguments with data. personal opinion matters little. i'd definitely change some stats were i presented comparable data with current team rankings. peace.
  9. Well, either byte by hand or use TSB Tool Supreme's "SET command" - that's how I do it. I use SET commands a lot (generated by spreadsheets). All you do is type in the address (in hex) , then the data. SET ( 0xADDRESS, 0xDATA ) In BAD_Al's readme it explains it. Like this from the last jstout post: SET ( 0x25ae9, 0x4cf39feaeaeaea ) SET( 0x25ffb, 0xa570100e4c3e9cffa9068d0080a9188d01804ce09a ) etc... those were the first two chunks of code. you can do the rest, big boy. this was sexy. i thank you, sir. this community seriously gets two yaks up.
  10. Anyone have a link where I might be able to do some reading how to copy this condition hack (as well as other coded hacks like this) into the 32-Man Rom? I get it, but I don't get it.
  11. Elway, how'd you get that green in there without changing the helmet screens?
  12. realistically, i'd say the lighter grey and white is more the cowboy's color.
  13. it's in the thread for my ROM somewhere. last five or so pages.
  14. thanks! the game can't handle the stats as far as I can tell -> all passing stats are given to QB - and I'll bet that if QB receives a pass - no receiver gets the yardage. But, who cares? I sure as heck wouldn't. Consider it ganked if you release it, Buck. With many thanks invested, of course.
  15. RE: Time Machine 2 It's definitely doable. I've been experimenting with RB passes and it can be done. I think it'd be a fitting idea, since 08MIA has ushered in the "Wildcat". Right now, due to space constraints (I have some other formations that I'm working on getting in there), there will probably only be 3 "Wildcat" plays - an RB1 run, an RB1 to RB2 run, and an RB pass. It goes without saying that I'm very interested to see this formation.
  16. "If I give you a hamburger today, will you not use exclamation points tomorrow?"
  17. Also, if I can lend a piece of advice: Search the forum for any question you have. You're liable to have a lot of questions answered by old posts, as most of whatever you've asked has been asked by someone other than you. If you're really serious about continuing to edit a ROM, then you'll likely have questions in the future that the board has either swallowed whole in time, or simply isn't answered anywhere else. THEN I would ask questions. Just a thought, others may not mind answering questions easily solved by simple forum searches.
  18. It isn't difficult to learn how to change things, but as someone who has been scanning this information for the past three months to almost a point of disgust, I wouldn't even know where to begin in finding the locations of these addresses without the help of the members of this forum. I can't even begin to understand, without simply messing with the hex code individually, how anyone was able to figure the location and byte numbers of specific concepts in TSB.
  19. The capslock was distracting up until the last line of the post. Sorry to hear that, man. It's a rough time, that's for sure.
  20. thanks for the feedback. for the year thing, i've just been using BadAl's tool which has one spot to change the year. so whatever places that changes is what it changes. at the end of a season, it still says 1991 roster too. oh well, its not really worth the effort to change it, im not great editing the hex as it is so its not worth it for me to hunt down all the years and change them. if someone has a link or something on where all the year locations are, i would do it, but otherwise then im just gonna leave it. sims was a mistake, he should have a 68 RP, i'll change that. little should have a 64 in quickness, i'll also change that. not sure how either of those things happened, but if you notice anymore then let me know. i'll change huff's number too. as far as the stars and scrubs thing, its pretty much based on how the original tecmo is. most players - especially on defense - are mirror images of real tecmo players. i basically matched up the best current players with the best tecmo players, and worst current players with the worst tecmo players. some teams did turn out to be stars and scrubs, but there are tecmo teams like that and i dont think it hurts the gameplay. All you have to do to edit the year, bro, is to open up the hex editor and do a search for the dates. It'll find every one you need to find for easy changing.
  21. This is, basically, how I rated my ROM. One large block, save for the stand-outs (be they awful or great). The idea fascinates me. If it's possible to somehow create an 'adjustable' OL, it would go a loooong way into opening up some defensive strategy in the front lines of TSB.
