  1. There's a new NFL game on iPhone/iPod Touch called NFL 2010 and it has complete NFL teams and rosters. Apparently, EA Madden does not have exclusive license for "Mobile" NFL games. (They DO have exclusivity on "hand-helds" like PSP and DS,though.) So, Tecmo can make a "Mobile" version of TB/TSB with full NFL license. Watch the YouTube review of NFL 2010 for iPhone/iPod Touch below. The game is sold for $4.99 download. Also, Madden will come out with its own iPhone/iPod Touch version soon. No doubt, the "touch" control and buttons will definitely prevent the full enjoyment of TB/TSB, but I'd love to see Tecmo release another full NFL roster TB/TSB and maybe that can be an another new start.
  2. Did you go to GameStop? They offered me only $1 for my PSP game in like-new condition, and they are selling the same game for $12.99
  3. I believe making money with another good football game is certainly possible even without the NFL license. But, I don't believe Tecmo can do it... not anymore. Instead, I'd love to see SONY or Konami give a shot at it. After playing SONY's great baseball game and Konami's great soccer game, I believe either one would do a great job creating another fun football game that many non-Madden gamers could embrace.
  4. I don't mean to start a controversy. I am just curious what you guys think. We seem to have run out of topics on Kickoff anyway.
  5. MLB The Show is one of the greatest sports game series in history. I wasn't a baseball game player before MLB The Show, but I am one now. I have MLB 06 for PSP and it still gives me much fun whenever I play it. I wish to see Sony or Konami make a football game even without the NFL license. Only if Sony could make a football game as good as their MLB The Show...! And likewise, only if Konami could make a football game as good as their Pro Evolution Soccer...!
  6. My Kickoff and DS are long gone. Nowadays, I play PES 2008 soccer game on my PSP everyday. It's a fun game but I find it not easy. Today's games are much more complicated--more buttons to push constantly and more moves to execute just to keep up with the CPU. 10 years ago, I wished the COM to do what I was able to do and provide more challenge. Now, I wish I could do what the COM does to me in the game. There are 5 levels of difficulty and I play the mid-level (regular) but a win is not a given. Every win is earned and an undefeated season is just a dream even though I have all the world's best players on my team. Other than Kickoff, do you enjoy any other sports games these days?
  7. Well, I can't say Tecmo didn't affect my grades, but we only got together on Friday nights and we only played playoff games auto skipping the regular season. Virtually, the rock paper scissor (in order to pick teams) prior to the actual Tecmo tournament pretty much sealed who can go to the Super Bowl--if you had SF or BUF, you are almost guaranteed. I also remember having fun trying to win all with Giants as well.
  8. I was in college when me and my friends used to play the game all night long; I believe almost every Friday night. It sounds pretty pathetic now, but it was pretty fun back then. Nevertheless, it's great to see a young (relatively) Tecmo fan.
  9. Disconnected party (intentional or not) should be charged with a forfeit whatever the reason is. Perfectly fair? Maybe not. But, I'd rather accept a bad luck than waste my time on a coward who wouldn't take a loss. I remember playing a game of chess on Yahoo and had to forfeit the game when I had to leave before I could finish the game. I thought it was fair for the other party so I gladly OKed the forfeit.
  10. Besides the annoying Kickoff shortcoming, how do you like playing a game on a handheld? After playing with your DS for some time now, would you want to prefer a handheld over TV or monitor? I won't comment on my DS, but I really like my PSP and I really enjoy playing sports games on it. If we'd ever have a 'perfect' Tecmo Bowl, I'd wish to play it on my PSP. What would your choice be?
  11. Cast your vote! What would Tecmo give us next time? Vote not what you'd hope to have, but vote what you'd think we'll actually have when it's released next year. Of course, ASSUMING that Tecmo will release the Wii version.
  12. Well, since when did you start policing the replies that don't fit the original topic? Enforcing rules and discriminating with rules are two different things. Although it is interesting how you can conclude that elway7's comment is on topic, I didn't care whether elway7 was actually responding to the topic or not. I just wrote what came to my mind when I read his remarks at the time. That's why I did the "Quote" thing. I have seen so many members do the same and I didn't have any problem with them. A strict rule enforcement is preferable when there are too many people saying too many things all over the place. I believe this board still needs a lot of encouragement rather than discouragement, even if that means bending some rules here and there. Let people come first and worry about the carpet later. And, so what if my post was negative for the sake of being negative? I believe we should be able to do even that when we feel like it, as long as we don't direct the negative comment toward a specific person or a group of people. My negative comment is not directed to the original questioner for sure, nor it was directed to all Kickoff lovers. Why take it so personal? If it was directed toward someone at all, it was directed toward Tecmo developers who might read what we say about the game here. Condescending? Yes, it was toward Tecmo employees who messed up our treasured game. Again, why don't you lighten up and let people have some fun here. Also, talk to me about maturity after you take back your 'assclown' remark first.
  13. Yes, I admit that I have been keep saying that the game is no good over and over, maybe a little too much lately. But, we all know how quiet or dormant this board can become when no one is writing anything. Who knows how long this hoopla or debacle we are having right now will last? Why not just have some fun when we can? What's so wrong about trashing the Kickoff? No matter how great Tecmo Bowl is or was, and no matter how much we are attached to it, it's just a video game after all. Life will move on with or without Tecmo Bowl. Yes, we'd all prefer 'with' rather than 'without', but life will move on either way. And, the biggest reason for my repeated harsh criticism is that I still want Tecmo to listen to what we say here. Maybe I don't want to give up on Tecmo not just yet. Okay. This is my last post here. But, I'd hope to see others write WHATEVER they have to say. Good or bad. More the better.
  14. I understand you are the Admin of this board. But, I really don't understand the need of your comment. Yes, I have been a harsh critic on Kickoff lately. Maybe that bothered you. My above comment is not a reply to the original questioner, rather, it is an additional remark on elway7's. (You can see that I "quoted" elway7's words. Isn't that what it's for?) And, I am certainly not putting down others for enjoying the game. Are we all children here? GeeZ! Why so insecure? We are talking about a VIDEO GAME dude. It's NOT a life and death matter! Lighten UP! If some of us like the game, so you praise the game. If some of us hate the game, so you trash the game. Or, according to your taste, you may choose something between praise and trash. Isn't it all fair? Are we taking tests here? Is there a right answer and wrong answer? You must be very annoyed by some people putting down the Kickoff here. Sometimes I don't like what others say on this board and sometime I get annoyed by others as well. But, I never try to shut them down. We all say what's on our minds. Unless you don't act like a lunatic, it's all fair game and fun. That's what makes this board interesting. I don't know about you, but I prefer interesting over quiet and boring any day. Finally, if you can call my remarks assclown, I can describe your handling of this board (on this particular incident) something else. But, I don't feel the need. We are all grown-ups here.
  15. Who's still playing the game? Anyone still tries to have fun with it? I just call the game 'Kickoff'. I don't call it 'Tecmo Bowl'. IMO, the game does not deserve to be called 'Tecmo Bowl'. However, I'd give the Kickoff credit for one thing--it certainly made this board lively once again, at least for the time being.
