  1. Hey Tony - I honestly hadn't thought about it but let me chat with Sobhi (didn't even know he was going). Flights are pretty affordable from DFW to Madison right now ($280 RT non-stop) but considering I'm going to both SXSW and the UEFA Champions League Final in London I'd rather not go big on a hotel, have to rent a car, etc. I'll get back to you.
  2. When: Friday, Jan 21st (time TBD but in the evening) Where: Jeid's place in Dallas, TX Why: Kingsoby1 will be in town on business for a few days. Come shake the hand of a tecmo legend and buy him a beer. RSVP below. The end.
  3. I would interested in flying in from Dallas to make a weekend out of this as flights are only ~$200 direct to Chicago.. put me down as a maybe for now, if it's in downtown or off a train line I don't think it would be a problem. Also not sure if it's been noted but the Bears play the Redskins that weekend in Chicago.
  4. Couldn't agree more honestly. Tecmo =/= Madden and never will be. There also is no "formula" or "formulas". The bottom line is this... drummer puts out a half-ass, sloppy product year in and year out. I'm all for collaboration if done well but last year he asked me if he could use my SIM data despite us HAVING TOTALLY DIFFERENT ROMS with different players and different ratings... who does that? That's the type of quality control drummer has with his projects, so I'd be willing to bet the farm there's nothing mathematical involved at all. There will always be people who want to sing kumbayah and let people do their own thing, but if that's going to shield you from understanding the negative impact of drummer's work and his attitude toward criticism of his work then shame on you. Everyone who plays or has played tecmo somewhat seriously either now or in the past knows his roms are a joke, and whenever someone asks for an explanation or to tries to assist him, he belittles them. It's ridiculous and I can't believe people just turn a blind eye whenever he does so.
  5. Here's a link: http://games.insidepulse.com/2010/06/01 ... net-2-dlc/
  6. Thanks buck!! Doing this last year was somewhat tedious lol
  7. Thanks Bo and Buck, that's some solid info... now let's hope Bodom will get it into his spreadsheet soon
  8. where is the ps3 version was hoping it would be out by this weekend... any news?
  9. That sounds like a pretty awesome addition Bo. Bodom, were you guys able to get together and get this in your excel workbook? I'd like to break ground on my rom fairly soon using this awesome device
  10. wow... I was just giving you a little razzing... no need to go postal on me. Jesus. also my roms aren't even hosted on this site so your "argument" is moot anyways. I don't want this to be a pissing contest about my rom vs. your rom but my rom is doing just fine according to my web analytics thanks to referrals from this great site and organic search.
  11. the rom with the lowest review rating of all the roms last year needs all the hype it can get
  12. This would be an awesome edition... who uses the interpolation in excel anyways? do you think it could be used for offensive sim as well? maybe a formula could be made for more complex stats like PS, MS, and RP and then the value from that is used? I honestly haven't used it since college so I'd need a major refresher... help Buck!
  13. I've done something like this before but it can get very messy very fast due to the limited capabilities of excel. I will send you what I have this weekend IF I can find it (was years ago), but essentially this is what you do: 1.) make a macro to do comma delimited text to columns 2.) add to the macro code to find/replace/delete all unneeded characters (i.e. # for jersey number, [] for sim data) 3.) Link the macro to a button and place the button on the desired spreadsheet - you can do all this manually but it's quicker to make a macro in the long run. 4.) Take the data and use "=CellID" functions in a new spreadsheet to clean up and style the raw data from the spreadsheet you imported it to like the QB, RB, etc tabs you have now - name these "IQB, IRB, etc" 5.) This step seems pointless but it's important - copy the imported data spreadsheets and make new spreadsheets named "EQB, ERB, etc", but change all the "=CellID" formulas to read from the IQB, IRB, etc data sheets and not the raw data sheet 6.) create a macro which basically copies whatever is on the IQB, IRB, etc data sheets and place a button for it on the EQB, ERB, etc data sheets. Name it "bring back original imported rosters" or something similar. You can combine it with the first macro if you like (I kept them separate in case I was working on something and didn't want it to be overwritten) 7.) The exported data sheets are the data you can edit but beware - anytime you edit something it removes the "=CellID" formula linking it to the corresponding imported data sheet. But that's why you made all those macros... once you make all the edits you desire and grab the data in TSBtool format, you just save if you want and close the spreadsheet. 8.) When you open the spreadsheet again the formulas you deleted in exported data will be removed, but hit the macro and "voila!" - they're all back. So just import again and you're good to go. If you want to skip macros just go the first cell in the exported data sheet and copy the "=CellID" from the corresponding imported data sheet and use the fill function, but this can be tedious if you have stuff broken down by position. I hope this helped!! All of these macros are easy to make and you can find examples on google. Please let me know if you have any questions either here or via e-mail. Great job Bodom, looking forward to using this for my rom this year
  14. How's everything going Bodom? You have any time recently to work on this?
  15. They are finally coming out with a new tecmo that isn't going to suck... and people are complaining? the hell? This is probably the best thing to ever happen to the online community... do you guys have any idea how big of a marketshare this new "app/DLC" market is garnering? it's the wave of the future for gaming honestly - mark my words going to the store to buy a game in 30 years will be nothing more than a rarity and a nostalgia bomb, if consoles still even have external devices to read data from. With Throwback we can go online and get games fast and easily. We can even tell our opponent about how we play online via emulators, all the cool hacks and 2010 rosters we have, and where they can go to play online. On top of this, we can add them as PSN friends to keep up with them and send them links. It's a dream scenario for people like knobbe and TDO who spend their own free time trying to promote the game. So please, let's look at the glass as half full for once. We have an amazing opportunity to expose a whole new generation of people to the game we all love and let's not scare them away with our negativity.
