  1. Ya, I heard Andre Waters was really good thanks tecmo psycho for ..............hey you are in the HSTL. Get out here ya filthy animal. Bruddog, nice tips! the tecmo community should award you with a Doctorate in TSB. I really like the defensive ideas, since my Defensive abilities are pretty lacking.
  2. Since I went 2-14 in HSTL I get the great QB EAGLES with the first draft pick. So my question to the tecmo world out there as I am going into the 2nd round and further. Who should I draft? The next round I have a chance to draft 2 picks back to back as its a snake Here is what should be available - the bottom end of the "A" type receivers (fast and great catch) or top end of B+ receivers (either catch or speed is lacking) - "B+" DB (Not in the top 15) - a 50 Max Speed running back - an LB not in the top 3 (LT, Thomas, Bennet should be gone) - also have my pick of the litter on DL, OL but that won't be chosen. Let me know your thoughts You can follow the draft at http://www.puretecmo.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=36303
  3. Great Recap! Have done the same stuff you guys did with a Ryder Cup format, but with NHL 95 and can confirm that team atmosphere adds a lot of fun to the event.
  4. Bumping this post, did anyone ever figure out if HP or angles result in better jailbreaking? I like to do the Bump and lurk with a drafted team I have with Pepper Johnson linebacker bumping a Dlineman Bruce Smith. Some games it works great other times it is horrible. I am not sure if HP has anything to do with it as I would think a Pepper Bruce combo would trump almost all oliners.
  5. The Great Bud Bowl Player "Bud Dry" should have QB Eagles Stats.
  6. That is the most awesome thing I have ever seen!
  7. Looking at the video I love seeing the 2D but the 3D looks a little iffy. I like the longer field in 3D but the 3d animations don't seem to mesh with the play well. But I guess that all can change after I try it.
  8. That is some great ink you got there!
  9. IGN's doing a top 100 nes games of all time. They ranked TSB 53 out of 100 which is way to poor of a ranking, but it is fun to see their write ups on the other games on there http://www.ign.com/top-100-nes-games/53.html
  10. Was wavering as I love Haddix, but this statement sold me on LT
  11. You got 24 out of 28 starting QBs for Tecmo Super Bowl (NES 1991). If I could spell right, I would of completed it.
  12. Great match up, but eventhough Fulcher is a maxed out stat defender and rivals Bo on the defensive side. I really had no idea he even exhisted as a tecmo stud til 8 years after this game came out, because of a roomate in college puting the hurt on me with on day with the seldom used Bengals. And if you asked a lot of novice tecmo players, I'm sure many would miss fulcher. Got to go with Bo.
  13. Thanks for the info, sounds like it is more fair to take away the top teams of the division rather than the bottom teams. How is that x factor calculated?
  14. I'd say I am tad better, just because I know more about the game. The other two are happy as long as they have a speedy linebacker and a good rb or qb. Do you think the bears are too good compared to Minn in Detriot? Are the chargers much better than the broncos?
  15. Thought I'd let the tecmo professors weigh in on this. Two buds and I have dusted of the old Tecmo Super Bowl cartridge and have started playing seasons again. I had to do tecmo brain surgery on the cartridge to put a new battery but it was eaiser than I thought. Anyways the rules are no lurching and we all have to be in the same division. After the season we pick a new division and player who finished last picks 1st. We did AFC East 1st: Bills, Dolphins and Jets. I thought Jets would be my sleeper team but if you have a bad Al Toon or bad RB's you are toast. Plus the Bills are a step above the other two. Final records: Bills 15-1, Dolphins 13-3, Jests 13-3 Just about to start season 2. Let me know what division we should choose and why.
  16. I'm curious what Bob Nelson's thoughts are on the "No Lurch Rule" and how it will effect him this season.
  17. Pretty cool, I have tried a couple times with the browns to go a whole season without an inconplete pass. But Ozzie normally drops one by the 2nd game.
  18. QB Bills has the slight edge in greatness because of name recognition. When I hear QB Bills I think Tecmo.
  19. Need to revise my review on this system. Finally got around to playing a genesis game on it and it freezes up quite a bit. It's like the system does not have enough power to handle the game. For instance on NHL 95 once a player picture pops up it freezes. Also if you get a player injured and then try to put a sub in freezes also. So stay away from this sytem
  20. Picked it up in 6th grade, first season was with the cheifs, because a classmate who got it before me could not stop talking about "A-coy-yay" Through my 6th grade year I bet I played 16 seasons and I kept record of each team I used along with the most yards passing and rushing on a peice of construction paper. My tecmo addition, caused me to not be interested in girls for the most part till junior high
  21. Love the match up. Good vs Evil Thomas gets sacks the legit way, while Nelson does it cheaply. Makes me want to start a season with both teams and just focus on sacks between the two juggernauts.
  22. Ooooh this is a close one. So far I have been voting like I was in 6th grade again when I first got Tecmo and did not know much about the NFL. This was before I looked at player ratings, and the only way I would discover guys was when they preformed well when playing. And for some reason, Boomer never stuck out in Tecmo like Marino did.
  23. Picked one of these up on Ebay the other day since my Nintendo is on life support. And NHL 95 on gens and Tecmo Super Bowl are the top two games in my book Anyways thought I'd point out a couple things on it. First off the games work great on it, no blinking which is nice. And it is only a RCA cable connection, no old screw in the back to the antenna thingy. The only down fall to it is the controllers, they seem especially cheap, working right now but not sure if they will hold up over time of tecmo grappling. My biggest beef is that the on the old NES controller B comes before A, but this controller is set up for Sega with the ABC controls. So needless to say it takes some getting used to when playing Tecmo with the buttons backwards.
