  1. Here's another correction you may want to include in your next update: You have Connor Barth as the Chiefs kicker, but he's been released in favor of Ryan Succop (at least for the time being). Again, great job. I coached my beloved Chiefs to a 10-6 record despite Larry Johnson continually getting injured all season long.
  2. I've really been enjoying your ROM over the last week or so...thanks for all of the hard work. I noticed you have JJ Arrington as the predominant RB on Denver...but I suspect Knowshon Moreno will be the feature RB in real life once the real NFL season gets underway. Thanks again!
  3. I agree with you 100%. I thought this "competition" was a fun idea. I love the "hardcore" nature of the people who post here...you guys are much bigger fans of the game than I am, and that's saying something because I LOVE Tecmo football. But I'm not sure why it gets so argumentative between people at times. It's OK with me if people hold a different opinion on the "best" player. I think it's interesting to hear others' opinions and viewpoints on the game...people who really CARE about Tecmo football!
  4. True. Can't argue with that combo (Brister to Rice), brother! I'm still not swayed in my decision for Rice over QB Eagles, but let's face it: we're splitting hairs with this final vote. BOTH players are dynamic and fun-to-use!
  5. Quarter Finals #1 QB Eagles vs. #3 Christian Okoye #1 Bo Jackson vs. #2 David Fulcher #1 Joe Montana vs. #2 Jerry Rice #1 Lawrence Taylor vs. #2 Wayne Haddix Wow, I think all of these guys are pretty worthy quarterfinalists. Being a Chiefs fan, I was always partial to the Nigerian Nightmare...but since the choice is between QB Eagles and Rice for the championship, I'll go with Rice since he's burned my ass so many times I've lost count! SF is unstoppable because of him. Oh yeah, that Montana guy is pretty good, too. Still picking Rice over QB Eagles.
  6. I've said it before and I'll say it again: You guys are great!!! Thanks so much for not only this particular ROM, but for any and all ROMs shared on this site. As an old-time Tecmo fan, I'm continually amazed at the effort and allegiance you guys have to getting out better and better versions. Of course, HUGE THANKS to cxrom for his "Holy Grail" discovery...the 32-team ROM...and for all of the work put into it. And thanks to everyone else involved on this 32-team ROM. I'll get HOURS of entertainment out of this, and I greatly appreciate all of your time and effort.
  7. Wow, thanks so much for all of your work with this, cxrom! I've been eagerly awaiting the news on an update. It's so cool that you managed to get all 32 teams included. Now that this new version is available, can you estimate for us where this version stands vs. the expected final version (i.e., is this 80% complete, 90% complete, etc.) Can you give us idea when the "finished" version will be ready (I assume sometime after rosters are finalized for the start of the season)? Again, thanks very much for all of your time and effort. In fact, I appreciate the time and effort EVERYONE puts into this site. Never could I imagine there'd be so many old-time Tecmo fans out there who love their Tecmo football as much as (or, even MORE THAN) me! That's so friggin' awesome!
  8. In the desciption, it reads: "2006 "green" is missing Miami, Cleveland, San Francisco, and Chicago 2006 "brown" is missing Cincinatti, Baltimore, Carolina, and Jacksonville 2006 "blue" is missing Detroit, San Diego, Houston, and Arizona" Actually, you've got the GREEN and BROWN versions switched. The BROWN version actually excludes Miami, Cleveland, San Francisco and Chicago, and the GREEN version excludes Cincinnati, Baltimore, Carolina and Jacksonville. Based on that, I think the BROWN version--and not the GREEN version, as I previously commented--will be the version I play most because it leaves out the weakest teams (as compared to the other 2 versions). Hard to leave out the Bengals (green version), and also really hard to leave off both Tomlinson/SD and that high-flying Arizona team (blue version).
  9. First of all, HUGE thanks to Rod and the whole gang who got this 2006-07 version to fly...AWESOME guys! I like the option of having the 3 different versions (so that nobody's favorite team gets left out), but I myself am partial to the GREEN version's teams. I noted many errors (mostly uniform numbers) in the GREEN version. They are listed below. (I don't know if these errors are also present in the BLUE or BROWN versions...I only checked the GREEN version.) Indianapolis: Joseph Addai s/b #29 Miami: Lee Suggs s/b #22 New England: Lawrence Maroney s/b #39 Reche Caldwell s/b #87 Chad Jackson s/b #17 Doug Gabriel s/b #85 Washington: Brandon Lloyd s/b #85 Philadelphia: Jeff Garcia s/b #7 Hank Baskett s/b #84 Dallas: Anthony Fasano s/b #80 Kansas City: Michael Bennett s/b #26 Oakland: Justin Fargas s/b #25 Buffalo: Shaud Williams s/b #40 Peerless Price s/b #81 Arizona: Kurt Warner s/b #13 Matt Leinart s/b #7 Leonard Pope s/b #82 Detroit: Jon Kitna s/b #8 Josh McCown s/b #12 Corey Bradford s/b #17 Green Bay: Greg Jennings s/b #85 Ruvell Martin s/b #82 Minnesota: Brooks Bollinger s/b #9 Troy Williamson s/b #82 Tampa Bay: Ike Hilliard (misspelled as "Hillard") s/b #19 Cadillac (misspelled as "Cadilac") Williams s/b #24 Earnest Graham s/b #34 Anthony Becht (misspelled as "Bect") s/b #88 Seattle: Deion Branch s/b #83 Chicago: Muhsin Muhammad (misspelled as "Muhammed") San Francisco: Trent Dilfer s/b #12 Michael Robinson s/b #24 Antonio Bryant s/b #81 Vernon Davis s/b #85 St. Louis: Gus Frerotte (misspelled as "Ferotte") s/b #12 Stephen Davis s/b #48 Atlanta: Ashley Lelie s/b #87 The punter s/b "#9 Michael Koenen" (not #76 Michael Ko") Tennessee: LenDale White s/b #25 David Givens s/b #87 Cleveland: Reuben (misspelled as "Rueben") Droughns Terrelle (misspelled as "Terrell") Smith Joe Jurevicius s/b #84 Kellen Winslow Jr. s/b #80 Houston: Jeb Putzier s/b #88 Pittsburgh: Santonio (misspelled as "Santinio") Holmes Dan Kreider (misspelled as "Krieder") There were some roster changes, too, but I'm not listing them since you didn't want them at this time. Again, the errors above are really petty I realize, but since you asked... Anyway, THANKS AGAIN to everyone involved in getting these versions made. Man, I LOVE this site...you guys rule!!!
  10. I purposely have the teams setup to sim that way. I like parody! I hate when the same teams meet all the time in the SB. I think the word you were shooting for is "parity"...parody is something Weird Al Yankovic does pretty well!
  11. I'm guessing his NFL (and Tecmo) days are way behind him, but I'd love to see Mosi Tatupu come out of retirement. But I suppose as a RB he's a bit long in the tooth now. Our loss.
  12. I took your advice and downloaded SNESGT and it works just fine. I checked out this particular game a little bit and it looks like you did a really nice job. You know, as a long-time Chiefs fan I didn't care too much for you, Elway...but with your ROM/programming skillz, I'm starting to take a liking to you!
  13. Question: How do you play this particular .smc file/ROM? Is there a special emulator I need? Sorry if I'm asking a dumb-ass question...
  14. Thanks a lot, Bad Al...I tried VirtuaNes and that seemed to do the trick. The only problem I seemed to have is that it didn't like me using either the left-ALT or CTRL keys (for the Start and Select keys)...so I used the left-SHIFT and "X" keys instead...and no problems. It's much nicer when you can SEE what the hell you're playing!!!
  15. Hi fellow Tecmo lovers, I use Nesticle to play the various .nes TSB ROMs I've gotten from the generous folks who post here on knobbe.org However, I was wondering if there's an easy way to make the game's playing screen any larger than the (approximately) 2" by 2" area? When I click on what appears to be the "maximize" button, the game shifts from the top left portion of my computer screen to the center of the screen...but the size still remains roughly 2 inches by 2 inches. Can anybody tell me how to remedy this situation? Thanks in advance!
