  1. Will they put up as much as USC or Texas did the past weekend. That's what I wanna know.
  2. It is good because this is a pretty small board. So you don't have a large influx of trolls coming in all the time and ruining it. And plus you can become more familiar with all the posters since there are relatively so few of us.
  3. Word of advice: If you want to beat Nameless, eat before you play. For whatever reason, this definitely lessens his Tecmo MoJo.
  4. Will you at least be so kind as to bring vaseline with you if you are gonna school them? You were pretty rough on me during our last Tecmo encounter...
  5. Should there be a list for Tecmo progeny? I know of (at least) Carthon and Tatapu(sic) in the league now.
  6. I think I played my first season against Nameless Loser. I'm pretty sure I didn't win more than 1 game, if that much. Maybe I beat him once or twice in whatever team he was using(NO maybe?). I'm guessing I used GIA, so maybe I eeked out another win. I imagine he remembers much more.
  7. Looks like I found a way to stymie Nameless Loser's A button skills.... http://www.g4tv.com/mediaplayer/videos/ ... o_key=9036 (Not sure if this has been posted)
  8. You forgot to mention Hostetler's 1 (or was it 2) rushing TD's that game I was watching some football clip recently, and I saw the ball carrier try "the circle move" to get around the defenders. I instantly thought of Tecmo and had a nice chuckle.
  9. I'm still working on the 'Bubby Brister to anyone touchdown.' I played Nameless Loser a few games Friday and a few games today. One today I was PIT and he was CLE, I think. Not sure, but he won the game anyway. PIT just doesn't have enough offense for me to match up against Nameless Loser. I only managed one win against him today, in GIA vs. T.B. Much thanks to Jeff Hostetler's 2 rushing touchdowns, GIA prevailed 24-7. And also the fact that L.T. and half my secondary were in excellent didn't hurt things either. I had pretty bad luck in all my other games. We played a game of MIA vs. IND, and my first drive, which was quite monstrous, ended with Marino throwing an interception in the end zone. After that happened, I knew the Tecmo Gods did not want me to win the game. Ah well, it was still pretty good action. Especially considering I haven't played since Knobbe visited Houston in January of '04.
  10. Yeah, thanks for putting it back up. Who would hack a Tecmo forum? Kind of odd. But thanks for putting forth the effort to get it workin again.
  11. This is a good topic for deep strategy in the game. Typically, I always take the best defender on the field. By best, I mean the fastest one available, whether it is CB, LB, or DL. This is the best asset in my opinon, so that you usually can have enough speed to catch up to blown coverage or to come make a tackle. Usually it is CB, and I prefer the LCB position, so that way it is easier, for me at least, to sweep down in the event of a run. I think being a LB, it is easy to get thrown down by blockers, wheras if I am a CB or Safety I have a little more room to maneuver. Obviously, if you have a badass LB or DT, then blockers are not a problem since they have much more hitting power. I guess there are several different schools of thought into play calling. I'd like to hear some other people's strategy on defensive playcalling. Call alot of passes. This can allow you to not have as much blown coverage in the secondary, so you can devote more of your efforts to stopping the run, pursuing the quarterback, or chasing down an open defender in the middle of the field. Calling alot of runs. This will enable you to stop the majority of run plays, or at least be in a good position to stop them. The only problem is that you are probably gonna have at least one open receiver on defense, which is okay if you have a good Safety of CB. Then of course, you can just play it by ear, and try to find out a certain person's playcalling patterns and tendencies, but I would reckon that most people use a combination of these 3 depending on the situations.
  12. Looks like someone hasn't been sacrificing enough to the Tecmo Gods. Speaking of which, has anyone here defined 'The Tecmo Trinity'? I recently proposed to Nameless Loser that the Tecmo Trinity was the Tecmo Gods, CPU Assistance (which seems to be the root cause of your 8 turnovers and something which I think we all know too well...), and L.T. Or Maybe Big Red instead of L.T., but Big Red may be a false prophet
  13. In addition to that, the CPU gets much tougher as you progress through the season. What I like to call Late Season Tecmo BS.
  14. I do not remember any of the plays that worked for me since it has been such a long time since I have played, but I do remember one trick to use when playing Nameless Loser. That is, before playing, make sure he is on a full stomach -- preferably Chinese food. For some reason, this has an adverse effect on his playing, which even he will admit.
  15. I see it, it looks smooth. All that is missing is a Rush Limbaugh endorsement saying "This game is not overrated."
