  1. I learned the opposite I do need glasses!!!
  2. If you are playing against the COM and its the Eagles it is easy to run roughshod over there offense. If you use the Eagles and know there strengths and weakness you can give the COM or MAN opponets all they can handle. I agree the Eagles don't have a solid RB. They do however have more than one RB and that gives them enough of a running game to get the job done. Moonwalk is right the Eagles have a chip away at the stone running game and that is really all they need.
  3. Yeah this is one hell of a running team. I don't use the daylight play that often for the same reason Bad Moon. I like the way this playbook sets up the passing game really well. I haven't had a chance to try against a man opponet yet but, against com I can throw deep several times a game. This is a big bonus as the Steelers don't have a good recieving corps. There not shity but, there not great either. I have had no success trying to trade for a reciever yet. The Tecmo gods know that I really need one in a bad way.
  4. I have now experimented with different plays and checked out various teams playbooks. I agree the Cowboys have good playbooks. I have installed some of the Cowboys plays in my playbooks along with some other plays. Playbook 1 I pitch strong, I quick slant T daylight, I flare I pitch weak, T FB screen T FB off center, T double flat Playbook 2 T power sweep r, Off I pa off center Off I off center, T Z hook T motion weak, Off I flood T FB strong, T motion short I have a created QB and I am using Bettis as the fullback and Watters as the halfback. The first game I played using these plays they worked great. Bettis had 117 yds on 12 carries. and 1 td. Watters had 109 yds on 13 carries. and 1 td. My QB went 18-23 for 460 yds. and 7 tds. Charles Johnson caught 7 passes for 278 yds. and 3 tds. Thanks for the input it was very helpful. Before I posted this topic I was using only R&S plays with Bettis as the back and Watters as the injury insurance player. I could run the ball down teams throats but my passing game was not that good. Now the passing game has opened up with the use of 3 different formations, the oneback set out of the T motion, Playaction passing, and the fact that there are two backs that can break a big run and catch screens.
  5. I made a goof there. I meant Heath Sherman. I must have had Charlie Garner on the brain the day I posted that reply. Sorry about the confusion.
  6. I have deleted and recreated a QB a few times and with the sim mode I can only get so many points. What are the criteria for getting points in a man season with a created player at QB? During the free agency week my created QB was worth at most 310. I have noticed that other QBs are in the 400 to 500 range. Just curious on how to make the best possible QB I can.
  7. I am looking for the team rosters for TSB the cart. Also was there more than one version of this cart like with TB?
  8. I haven't played NES TSB in a long time. I usually played with the Eagles or the Jets if I wanted a challenge. I recall in season mode with the Eagles I ran Garner for over 1500 yds. This was crazy cause it seemed he always got injured 3 or 4 games into a season. The funny thing is I could always get a 1000 yds out of him in season mode. I think the reason being is so much of the offense was pass, pass, pass and when I would run him he would tear off 4 to 5 yd runs consistantly. To me he was definatley underrated due to the fact that QB eagles was obviously the strongest runner in the offense. In MAN vs MAN I could get big runs with Garner cause people never expected you to run the RB if you had RS playbook and QB Eagles.
  9. It's pretty funny when you call the CPUs play and it's a flea flicker. The whole defense swarms the QB and the stupid RB still pitches the ball back to the QB. This is even funnier when your lineman who picks up the fumble is obviously been hitting the crack pipe.
  10. That is exactly it. Cool and fun to play. I haven't played the madden series but a couple of times and I was not impressed at all. As a matter of fact when I got a my recent SNES the guy I got it from threw in madden 97. I played it for about a day and it sucked. I went straight to ebay and bought TSBIII. The madden 97 has now been filed in the trash. I did own a PSX for a while and I liked the Gameday series by 989. It was basically like madden but alot smoother to play and the plays were better.
  11. Hey kork maybe your right it only has something to do with cpu controlled players. Although I have noticed this. Even though this QB is slow he has pretty good scrambling skills behind the line of scrimmage, However when he crosses the line of scrimmage he couldnt out run a dead dog. Maybe the reason for this is the Avoid Rush #s are high. Also compared to Mike Tomczak when a man blitzes or your play gets called this QB tends to get rid of the ball even when the defenders are very close. Tomczak seem to hesitate and end up getting sacked even though I am pressing the shit out of the B button. Of course I can't really back any of this up. This is all based on playing with the two QBs and drawing conclusions. If you have a created QB that has little AR & CO and #s in other categories let me know how he performs in these situations.
  12. I have created a QB and when I started I had 2 & 1/2 bars of points to start with. I simmed 2 seasons and got 2 more bars of points. After that He quit improving with sim or man control. Here is his ability rating. RS 19 RP 6 MS 6 HP 6 BB 6 AG 6 PS 75 PC 75 PA 75 AR 75 CO 75 He is in no way a runner but man can this guy pass. He handles the rush well can scramble around the pocket or roll out. A running threat he is not. Don't get me wrong though this guy is bad ass if he only had a recieving corps to throw to. He is on the Steelers and the recievers suck.
  13. The AFC and NFC alternate who wears the home jerseys each year. I cant remember who wears the home colors this year but, heres an example. When Green bay won the SB they wore the home jerseys. The next year when they got beat by the Broncos Denver wore the home jerseys. The year after that Denver wore the away jerseys. I pretty sure if you research this it will work out to be that they alternate. Although I have seen Dallas wear white jerseys at home and on the road. I'm not sure on this but I think Dallas wears the white jerseys the majority of the time.
  14. I haven't owned the game long and I am wondering who you guys think have the best playbook I and playbook II.
  15. Well I finished my season and most games I scored in the 40s and pretty much held teams to 21 or fewer. I did however have close games with the Browns. The first time I played the Browns I had a hard fought one point lead 21-20. Luckily I blocked an extra point. The big scare of the game was late in the 4th qtr. The browns had the ball late in the 4th and drove toward midfield when woodson came up with an int. My offense could not get it together and I choose to punt and ride my deffense. Again they drove to about midfield. The clock was sitting on 11 sec. They ran a pass play and their qb fumbled on a sack attempt by Kirkland. The clock ran out and I escaped a nightmare. The second time I faced the browns we exchanged tds until midway into the 3rd when my defense took over and we rolled to a 21 pt lead they could not overcome. In the playoffs I only had one crasy game. This game was against the colts. As with the browns they matched me score for score. When they kicked to me to open up the second half Woodson went 82yds for the td. My defense took over and by the time the 3rd qtr ended Woodson had returned 2 punts for tds one for 85 yds and one for 75 yds. My offense never took the field in the 3rd qtr. My offense never got on the field in the 4th qtr until late due to 2 more woodson punt returns for tds. And even when my offense final got back on the field they put up a td as well. I played the 49ers in the super bowl. the game went back and fourth through the first half. toward the end of the first half I was kicking off with the score tied and time running out. I planned to kick deep and ride out the clock. I screwed up and onside kicked and came up with the ball. A blown coverage allowed me to get a quick score and end the half. The niners came out hard in the second half. I managed to keep a lead with a saftey and a field goal. In the fourth qtr the took the lead late in the game and pinned me deep on the kick. I luckily was able to put a drive together and score in the final seconds winning the game 25-20. I have yet to ulock the alll time greats so I will have to more seasons with the steelers. Its been since the early 90s that I owned or played tecmo so I will play the seasons out instead of using the sim.
