  1. i remember someone trying to incorportate multi-week injuries into a linear-fashion, one rom a week league. it failed miserably and was pretty much abolished after the 2nd or 3rd week. i personally think injuries, especially in online leagues, is a waste of time because they are so random. in result of this randomness, they create an un-equal playing field that isnt that big of a deal in a blowout, but when you work hard over an entire season and lose a playoff game because your starting qb and rb get "randomly" injured, then it becomes more of a serious issue. if there was some sort of an injury probability value in tecmo (there is at least BC for fumbes and PC for ints), i could see more merit behind pro-injury arguments, because then its strategic and your own fault for getting guys with high chances of injury when they get hurt. but there isnt, and with that said, i prefer to play my games in preseason mode to avoid this random element.
  2. i remember looking for this back in the day, and im very certain that pr fumbling is indeed hardcoded.
  3. sois, i understand your "tecmo integrity" complaint, but to not have a division leader in carolina on the rom probably would have destroyed the integrity of the rom more than the tecmo integrity, which is much more valuable IMO. also, yes, for the most part i didnt change any numbers or pictures of players, as this is just a mid-season update. i put more time into getting the ratings and the rating scale as close to right as i could instead of doing minor things like that.
  4. to get the link to work, right click, and go to "save as"
  5. http://www.geocities.com/matt6584/tsb2k4midseason.zip (hopefuly rod can put it in the download section shortly) what has been updated: -complete roster overhaul, they are much more accurate this time around. -new ratings for all players (to reflect up to week 8 this season) -new sim ratings for all players and teams (to reflect up to week 8 this season) -season mode now works -carolina has been added to the rom because of their success everyone feel free to take a look at the rom. im always open to suggestions and comments. -matt
  6. hello. i need a little bit of help with the rosters on my 2004 rom. simply put, i'd like for anyone who has a hometown favorite team on my rom to take 5 minutes and look over their team on my rom and just give me a quick run down on if people on their favorite team are out of position, who's moved up/down on the depth chart recently, who is injured, if any replacement should be made, etc. also, if you have any bigtime disputes with the player ratings (on your team(preffered) or another), please add those. the rom is available in the downloads section here at knobbe.org, for people who do not yet have it, or at TSB heaven. i would really love a lot of help because im trying to create the best rom i can for people to enjoy, myself included. i am looking to making a week 1 rom before the season starts, and hopefully do minor updates as the season progresses. any help would be greatly appreciated. sincerely, jeid
  7. i fixed the team control bug in my last update, i just forgot to say i did. just go to the downloads section and get the latest version and it should be all good. also rmm, could you put the new version up on your site? ive had quite a few e-mails about the team control bug. thanks and happy tecmoing.
  8. http://www.geocities.com/matt6584/tsb2k4.zip i actually broke down and put together all my ratings mushed in my head and made a rom for the upcoming 2004 season. it is loosely based around the origonal rom as far as scale goes. it has the bigtime rookies and the big free agent moves (ie. sammy knight to miami), and it should be current as of 6/28/03 i would like some feedback, as this is the first release, and im sure there are some things people disagree with to an extent. fire away. -jeid

  10. yes it is. it sucks just going up the middle as people usually use a lb and try to dive and get you if you run through, but if your rb has enough rs/ms to cut it outside, the guy will often miss his dive, and you'll waltz in for an easy td. at least thats my experience with the play.
  11. AMEN. i thought for a minute i was the only one who ran it inside the 10... passing that close is basically suicide as someone can call run and rush you, giving you squat for time to hit a wr. i like to designate a "run" as my goalline run, so the other guy isnt expecting it to be called. usually the pro t dive out of run4. i like goalline runs where you can reverse field or change direction and still get a couple of yars, because thats all you need around the goalline usually anyways.
  12. how about the vikings? if you move carter to running back and flank walker out at wr2, that offense is very tough to stop. not to mention the fact that you've still got jones and jordan with 63 and 56 rec respectivley to throw to. wilson also has good enough stats too not screw up too bad all the time too. the OL is solid, and the defense has some very impressive players in doleman/merriweather/millard/lee/browner, with the two big guys on defnese (millard and browner) at basically opposite ends of the field and at VERY good positions to stop a R&S book (lb2 and db4). the chargers are far more talented offensivley(butts), but i dont think i could consistently stop anyone with my best lb being at lb1 and trying to stop the r&s sweep down with db2.
  13. henry just isnt a 63ms. guys like tomlinson and garner are worthy of a 63ms, and both of those guys are far better than henry. hes a 56ms for sure though. if he was a bigger threat out of the backfield, i'd consider a 63ms. he definatley is NOT 50ms though. hes MUCH better than that. and i'd have to bump down the rec or both moulds and price, giving moulds a 75 and price a 69. im sorry, but the only guy worthy of an 81 rec is marvin harrison.
  14. i based most of it off of using the statistic categories for each rating that bruddog mentioned in the previous thread called "lets do this..." ( http://www.tecmobowl.org/forum/viewtopic. ... 85&start=0 ) and i tweaked with some individual things myself. i mainly did was tsb seemed to do in almost using a "grading system", with there being a few guys with extremely high stats (a's) and a few guys with extremely low stats (f's) with there being a large range b's, c's, and d's. i also gave it somewhat of an "original rom feel" as all qbs have 25rs and 69rp and generally low hp (13-25). the link is here: http://www.geocities.com/matt6584/2003tsbqbratings.htm any feedback would be appreciated. especially from you blueman
