  1. which team has the hardest schedule? the bengals' is brutal so far
  2. Man you are so wrong. I don't care what the pure stats say, a Week 15 defense (on any TSB team) is better than the Chicago preseason D.
  3. so the consensus is just alternate b/w picking run 2 and run 3?
  4. Wow, your road was a lot easier than mine. But, then again, I lost. In the playoffs with me were the Oilers, Bengals, Raiders, Dolphins, and Chiefs...all teams I consider to be tough opponents. I lost to the Raiders in the first play-off game. Not a good season. 14-2
  5. Yesterday, I lost 3 straight games to my friend who was playing w/ the Giants. I tried Kansas City, the Rams, and San Francisco. The latter two games were very close, and the Kansas City game was close. Defending the Giants is tough for me. Run 1, Run 3, and Pass 2 were killing me because of the formation. Derrick Thomas was getting taken out almost every play. What do you guys suggest?
  6. rod woodson, how many games was stephens out for? were you ranked #1 in offense and defense? Well, I'm now 9-2 after completely self-destructing in the Jets game. I'm playing on the real Nintendo, by the way. The Jets game was a parade of horribles that once again came down to a last second touchdown attempt. I was down 21-14 with 9 seconds left. I chose pass 2 to try to hit Dykes in the end zone, but he was double covered. Instead, I chose to pass to Adams at hte bottom of the screen, but as I pressed "B" he released and the ball sailed easily into Erik McMillan's hands. Game over. I'm first in defense by far. But my offense is pathetic.
  7. i just got so "Groghaned" it's ridiculous i was down 12-6 to the dolphins (don't ask..a lot of BS happened before that score) and got the ball back on a short kickoff with 28 seconds left i picked pass 2 and they left Dykes open for the first time in the game; i let it rip and he caught it was the 12 yard line where I promptly made the biggest mistake of my Tecmo career; playing it safe, i stepped out of bounds with two seconds fearing i would get tackled by a dolphins player i thought i was screwed and i was screwed but more than i could ever imagine; with the advice of my roomate, i picked pass one thinking i could pass it to allen when he broke from his screen; allen was double covered so i thought i was dead meat but then i saw they had left dykes all alone on the curl route at the bottom being the smart tecmo player i am (as smart as you can be in "games, one of those" as this one was), i reversed my field ever mindful of an EXCELLENT john offerdahl about to take my head off; i got right in front of dykes and hurled it to him... or rather i should say out of bounds worst throw ever i lost 12-6 and i'm now 9-1
  8. I'm in the middle of my season with the "real" Patriots. I'm 8-0, but I'm about to play the toughest two-game stretch of my season with Buffalo and Miami. Week 17 in Cincinnati will be a killer. I'm predicting at least a 14-2 season, though, becuase my team's health is peaking at the right time. Anyway, my toughest game BY FAR was week 2 vs. the Browns. It was 14-0 before I took a snap from scrimmage due to two fumble returns for touchdowns on kick-offs. I would've taken Martin out, but nope, not under these rules. A question: When a player gets injured (none yet, knock on wood), can you replace them with anyone or just the first person up?
  9. re: eric allen, just out-hustle the other team, leave all out there on the field, and put some points on the board and it'll all be ok...what a douchebag
  10. i apologize but i really did think this topic was very funny i still think phil simms' kid takes the cake
  11. yeah phil simms' kid is a fucking idiot too now that i think about it
  12. i'm sorry i can't recall it was the bills and bears in the super bowl the bears went 10-4-2 and won the NFC central the bills, fins, bengals, raiders (13-3) all made the playoffs
  13. i finished the regular season of this season today and i had mixed feelings about the results good things: 1. held S.F. to 150 points 2. they went 0-16 (beautiful sight!) 3. held them to last in NFL in offense and defense 4. held rice to 15 catches and taylor to 15 catches (rice hurt for 4 weeks) 5. montana 4th to last in the NFL in passing; 2nd to last in the NFC bad things: 1. craig almost had a 1000 yard season 2. did not hold them to last in all four categories of off/def
  14. thru week 9, montana is second to last in the league in passing, rice has 8 catches and taylor 7 rathman is hurting me; 14 receptions but most of them are short the 49ers are last in the league in both overall offense and defense; however, they are eighth in the league in rush offense; very strange so far the stars of my season have been QB Eagles (219 yards rushing and 201 yards passing...not bad) and andre rison (6 catches for 224 yards) the striking thing is that the raiders and 9-0; in the NFC West it's the Aints, Rammies and Coons next up, Atlanta vs. S.F.
