  1. An appropriate World Cup themed challenge.
  2. Sorry if that was unclear. I didn't mean to assert that Rice somehow had better hands than Ellard, but rather that he has a discernable edge on both Hill and Ellard. When compared to the other big receivers in the game he is going to come down with a higher percentage of bombs. A ridiculously high game-breaking percentage. I would probably take Barry Sanders with those teams since you would be able to get your stud more touches via the pass.
  3. I disagree with this assessment. The point about the two defenses is irrelevant and just obscures the issue. The question is who has the better offense. I don't see how the Rams' offense can rank worse than tenth, and depending on a player's preferences I could see them as high as 5th. I just don't see how you can call the Eagles' offense that much better than L.A.'s. The comments in this thread compare Rice to Hill and Ellard, but he is really much better than both of them. The combination of top speed and hands means he is going to break more defenders and make more CCs. Unless you have the opponent totally on his heels, you must pick pass against a squad with Rice and a half decent QB. Even then, he will still most likely destroy you. QB Eagles is great; his clock control is hugely important in Tecmo and he can be the one man show, but he just doesn't dominate against every defense in the same way that Rice can.
  4. is it really? It's been a while since I played. In any event, just get three good runs to Hill. The Offset I runs are great. Maybe T Cross in slot 3. Slot 2 can be whatever you want.
  5. Play with the Oilers and move Hill to RB (make sure you put the other 2 good WR at WR1 and WR2. If you can stop the 49ers, even with the Bears, it means he sucks and you should still be able to stop him with the beast that is Richard Johnson (a disgusting corner back with all the tools). When you throw the ball, just throw deep into single coverage that is not Dave Waymer (the SS) and you should put up big points. Your first pass play should be RS Flare C. This is a monster of a pass play where both primary WRs go deep. For pass 2 you can go with the RS Z Fly, Pro T Flare D or the Offset I pass. RS 3 Wing (both primary WRs go deep) Redgun (WR2 goes deep) Your third run should be the RS sweep up top. Also, while Toss sweep R is the best run in the game, you might consider the RS sweep in that slot.
  6. Brady is a cheat. How does it feel knowing that the only reason NE won those super bowls is because of Bellichick's "how low can we go" attitude? 3 point win each time... "Like they knew our plays before we ran them" tsk tsk
  7. not allowing teams to be used in the pool round and then in the playoffs could create an unfair situation. Imagine you're the guy who has all the good teams used against him. I guess you can either play with poor teams and pull some poor record or you can go with decent teams and be screwed for the tournament portion. Plus you'd run out of teams in a certain tier by the championship. What I find is generally nice in these kind of friendly tournaments is to eliminate the bottom 25% after the season and give the top 25% a bye. Gives everyone a real reason to play.
  8. How about a no offense season with the Rams? Their return game isn't the worst so it's not a total disaster.
  9. Let's keep this terrible thread alive. 1. 49ers 2. Oilers 3. Rams 4. Bills 5. Dolphins

  11. If we allow WR at RB, Rice become the game's best player as long as you're using the notorious "Rice Magic" playbook.
  12. I agree with you on most points, but come on- that is some fallacious logic.
  13. You should actually start on Lincoln because that would be pretty amusing.
