  1. Worked for me, thanks jstout! I am just trying to get last year's rosters into the CFL rom. Not really working on the sim code or player attributes just yet. I was experimenting with the run/pass ratio with the TSBTool and must have misunderstood the directions. Seems to have the "3" setting on the teams now for more passing though.
  2. oh man...that didn't work...CFL rom I was working on is kaput now... Is this salvagable? http://rapidshare.de/files/17783659/TECMO_CFL.nes.html
  3. So it's as simple as editing the last digit in the sim code in the TSB tool? WOW....this is awesome guys. Will that affect just the sim or will it affect Man vs COM play too?
  4. I found this litte tidbit in the TSBTool thread: The run/pass ratio This is HUGE So is it possible to edit the run/pass ratio in the rom using a hex editor? And if so...how does one actually go about it? Can this be explained in layman's terms?
  5. I am working on the CFL rom and updating it to last year's rosters. I also got rid of the large helmets as they are a mess in this game. The tough part is finding depth charts from the CFL and who to exclude when you have 12 guys on the field. Usually I end up taking out the FB and one of the DB's. So far I have Edmonton and Toronto's rosters done. If someone wants to improve on this graphically after I am doen, let me know. I've actually had fun working on a Tecmo project for the first time in a long time with this one.
  6. Yeah, Browns over Titans would be a good thing. My Titans were horrid, I wouldn't even want to play as them.
  7. We could just have someone post each rom for all to enjoy.
  8. So anyone interested for material beyond stats?
  9. have been sitting on these for a couple years now. If anyone is interested in them so they can put together some accurate historical roms hit me up. I am not asking for any money back for them, just supply a UPS account so you just pick up the tab on the shipping. I was trying to make some historical roms but I just never got around to it and have pretty much hung up my ROM editing spurs ever since I started my football message board. It takes up too much of my time to really let me work on a ROM.
  10. It always bugged me how when you are playing vs the COM the kickers pooch kick on almost every kickoff. Is there a way to make it so when they do kickoff it goes deep?
  11. I just don't have the time to dedicate to it anymore. Besides there are others out there who pretty much now know EXACTLY what all Tecmo players want and anything not up to their standards is slammed as subpar.
  12. TecmoSuperBowl.net? Wow...I used to own that domain back when I was active in editing games! Here is the archived site: http://web.archive.org/web/200301071129 ... rbowl.net/
  13. My whole point is these games are meant to be fun, so if they are fun to the person who edited them, then that's all that matters. You on the other hand want to treat rom editing like if it's some exact science with a formula for every little detail. God I love playing your roms where it takes forever for a RB to turn a corner because we have to "level things out". Good way of pretty much bastardizing anything the original creators of the game intended. Maybe now I will go bore myself with one of kingsoby's infamous all-white Arian Nation mods that have the same fun factor as getting a root canal. I should consider myself lucky that one of the pile's of crap you insist on telling everyone is the end all way of editing roms is on my PC. How foolish of me to second guess you or think that a rom should be fun first and foremost and not be some homogenized bastardation you love to pump out. Anyone remember the days when the first Tecmo Rose Bowl came out? Or when Rose Bowl 2002 came out? Now those were roms. How about any of the roms Denny, Jstout & Elway7 put together? Now those were good. Not this crap you try to push as groundbreaking. So maybe do yourself and the Tecmo community a favor. Take your arrogant attitude and shove it up your ass. Less homogenized crap you insist is the way to go and more of some roms that are true to the original. Somewhere along the way you forgot that the reason people ARE here? Is because they love the original game and it's arcade-like feel, not the shit you pass off that plays like 10-Yard Fight.
  14. Matt Jones....clocked at a 4.41 at the combines. Here is his scouting report from Scout, Inc on ESPN.com: Ernest Wilford's scouting report by Scouts, Inc on ESPN.com: Good thing his rating actually had some basis unlike your uneducated guess that you wanted to pass off as fact. Maybe it would have gotten a better review from the local Tecmo expert here if it was an incomplete rom like his usually are. Oh...and enjoy the "pwnage" back.
  15. A negative review by kingsoby....how surprising. You have some things you can tweak but keep editing the game to your taste. I think that is what people have forgotten in this effort to create the ultimate rom. The game is supposed to be fun first and foremost, so if you like it then enjoy and if others don't they can either make their own or play other edits.
  16. I was working on one for last year but lost interest in the project. Here is what I had worked on up to a point. Someone can feel free to pick up the project: http://sblueman.net/rosebowl_2004.zip Most of the rosters were done. This was the division setup: AFC East: ACC Virginia Tech Miami Florida State Virginia Georgia Tech AFC Central: Big 10 Michigan Iowa Wisconsin Ohio State AFC West: Big 12 Oklahoma Texas Texas Tech Texas A&M Oklahoma State NFC East: SEC Georgia Tennessee Auburn LSU Florida NFC Central: Big East & Independants Pittsburgh West Virginia Louisville Utah Boise State NFC West: Pac 10 USC California Arizona State Oregon I lost interest in the project a while ago though and never went back to it.
  17. I remember getitng out of school and heading straight to the store to get the game, cracking it open and firing it up with a bunch of friends over. We played man vs man games all afternoon and night. The following day when I woke up I started up my first season as the Oilers. I went 11-5 and lost to the Bills in the AFC Championship Game. I remember Thurman Thomas was on crack and killed me for 3 long TD runs.
  18. I haven't made a edit since the 2004 season and would rather wait for Denny's version which might not have all the alterations but stays true to Tecmo. You and bruddog can ejnoy your little circle jerk of halfway done games.
  19. Released 1/2 way done roms or unreleased? If you mean unreleased just for my defense, the 75 edit is 3/4 of the way done. I know I am not commenting on your project Denny. You and your team know how to make a game right. Keep on busting out the best Tecmo edits!
  20. Please lord....make the halfway done roms stop......
  21. This game is the perfect example of what a Tecmo Edit should be. Amazing work that is thorough from beginning to end.
