  1. Still heavily involved with XOR NFL Challenge. We are nearing the end of our league's ninth season and have been active since 2006. Lately we have been delving much further into the "nuts and bolts" of the game. After contact with one of the authors of the original game's college team disks, we are starting our own testing on how the skill and other attributes affect the game play. My goal is eventually to have a template into which one can paste stats for a season and convert them into skills applicable to the game, as well as a method of scaling skills and physical attributes so great teams from different eras can compete against each other.
  2. Assuming anyone is still paying attention, this is to those who have trouble getting the game to work (it crashes after the coin flip). The game extracts with the teams in the directories for their seasons. They need to be copied to the main NFL directory for the game to function. If the game is extracted to c:\NFL, the the 1984 teams for instance will be in the c:\NFL\1984 directory. Simply copy the teams from the 1984 season directory to the main NFL directory (copy c:\NFL\1984\*.* c:\NFL\). If you want to use different teams just copy the ones from that season directory into the main NFL directory, overwriting any teams that are there. You can also mix and match teams from different seasons. I too am working to keep the game alive. I have been running a league (NAXFL - the North American Xor Football League) since 2006 with teams created by the various GM's. The last few seasons are up on YouTube. I've found a surprising number of people from around the world who remember the game fondly.
