You know what to do (Download this!).

I released this game back in 2015, however this time around, it is without the dreaded "12th man super-scorer" glitch. Nine years after its initial release, this has been fixed.

As of today, this the first (and only) college basketball game on the NES (until I put out a follow-up in the next year or two).

All the team logos, uniforms, and courts have been modified to reflect their college counterparts. SimData has been modified to reflect typical college basketball scores (Scores of 75-70 are the norm). There are 27 teams in this ROM. The team selection was partially based on what teams were hot in 2015, and historical significance (see attached screenshot). This provides for effortless future updates.
For the sake of realness, it is HIGHLY advised you play a season with a SHORT schedule (26 games). This closest reflects a regular season of college basketball.

This ROM is the best of its kind. You would be a fool NOT to add it to your collection.

This is one of MANY games that I have on my BaronGaming.weebly.com and Patreon.com/BaronGaming sites, most of which you won't find anywhere else. The site is currently being renovated, so please mind the mess.

    Something cool happened this week!

This is the ROM update I started at the end of last season that I just now finished. While the roster are a year old, this is still the (in my humble opinion) the best version of this game available. I've been busy saving the world with, you know, space lasers!

I didn't update any of the logos (aside from the ones I did in the previous version). Maybe next season.

I've seen a lot of versions of this game released over the last couple years and they all have the same issue: The scoring leaders are always the backup center, averaging 100+ points per game. This is not an issue in this ROM.

Also, the season simdata has been updated for this season, so the level of success a team experienced during the 2022-23 season is reflected in this ROM. Now, this doesn't mean that a team won't over-play their simdata. It happens.

The last season I updated this ROM was... four years ago in 2019?  So with that, see you after the 2027 season.

Baron von Lector got a reaction from Rick 8bit for a file, Ken Griffey Jr. Presents: Major League Baseball - 30th Anniversary Edition (Original Game with REAL Players)
Remember the original Ken Griffey Jr. baseball game?  Remember how annoying it was to play with real teams, but had players you've never heard of and you had to MANUALLY change each player, one letter at a time, using your baseball cards as reference?
Here is that game but with MAJOR changes, and it only took THIRTY(ish) years!

    1) All the players have been re-named to their real-life counterparts, this includes the regular rosters AND the All-Star rosters.

    2) The Homerun Derby has been overhauled with real MLB  players: Ken Griffey Jr. (the lone holdover from the original roster), Frank Thomas, Cal Ripken, Barry Bonds, Dave Justice and Tony Gwynn.

    3) Small details that the original creators overlooked, such as the RH/LH stances of about one-in-ten of the players has been corrected.  The appearances of some race-swapped players have been fixed.  Also, there are no longer any 5'9" "tall & lanky" players, just as there are no more 6'5" "short & rounds."

    4) Other small details, mostly concerning high ERAs and lowercase Cs.

I didn't do too much to the player ratings, choosing to keep the original ratings the developers decided on. The biggest change was upping Deion Sanders SPD rating to 10. This is expected, being the fastest player (just ask him) in the league at the time.

(I am aware the game came out in 1994 so this is technically not the 30th anniversary. The game is based on the 1993 season which happened 30 years ago.)

Baron von Lector reacted to joshuablackstone for a file, SEC vs Big Ten Legends
Welcome to the future.  2024 will introduce 16 teams for the Big Ten and 16 teams for the SEC, thus in the words of the media making 2 Super Conferences.

First off, thank you to Baron Von Lector.  This ROM is a variation of his hard work.  If you haven't check out his other ROM hacks on his site.  I tried Super Mario with SNES graphics, pretty cool.

Next, since we don't know accurate rosters for 2024, I went ahead and created a LEGENDS edition.  Best of the best for each school.  Turned out to be much more difficult for teams like Rutgers and Vanderbilt haha.

I like TSB3 so added a couple of features that are borrowed from there.  Field is one color for simplicity and to fix a couple of minor field glitches with the original rom.  Changed a lot of colors.

There are 2 versions, neither are more or less difficult.  If you wish to modify to amp the JUICE, there are plenty of articles on this site to help you do that.

Basically, there is a VANILLA version with little to no hacks involved and one that I added a few hacks that I see as adding to the game.

    These hacks are:

Add Hut to Pre-Snap Decrease Fumbles by 30% Various Special Teams Hacks (Directional Punts, kickoff locations moved, touchbacks moved, add touchbacks for kickoffs, wedge kickoff return) Remove Excess Diving by CPU.  Makes it a lot more difficult if you can't just fake the CPU to get them to dive haha Player Controlled QB Rollout. Change Preseason music to use Pro Bowl values.
I want to say thank you to everyone on this site who has contributed.  I've had a LOT of fun playing these variations, especially the college ones (I find college to be more exciting than pro personally) and especially the SNES versions, I'm not there yet personally, but I admire what some can do.  Wish we could get an NCAA TSB3 at some point, maybe I'll try to attack that next.

Obviously there is talk of further expansion of these conferences, so at some point maybe I'll replace the lesser teams with newer additions if/when that happens.  Also, perhaps the new Big 12 could play one of these conferences.  All ideas I'm floating but want to see if this one goes over well or if it's not worth the trouble.  I personally am enjoying playing this and feel like it's a solid idea, but I can't say for certain.  If there are suggestions that you want to pass along, feel free, although please keep in mind I'm fairly new at this so bear with me.  Was a lot of fun to do though.

I take back what I posted a few weeks ago. THIS is my most ambitious project to date. I took the flaming pile of digital garbage that I put out back in February (Tecmo Super Bowl 1977 – NES) and updated it with 16-bit graphics.

To go along with the visual upgrade, I went through it player-by-player and updated all of the ratings, jersey numbers, skin color, and simdata. I also updated all of the team simdata so that the SKP teams during the regular season play similar to their real-life 1977 counterparts. When simulating a test season, the game correctly simulated four of the six division winners. Only the AFC East and West were incorrect, and with those, the teams in 1st and 2nd flip-flopped.

I updated the schedule in the game so that it accurately reflects the 1977 season.

During the player rating editing process, I found the AV scores (approximate value) on pro-football-reference.com for each of the players to be a HUGE god-send.

Baron von Lector got a reaction from TimBone for a file, Tecmo Super Bowl: Gold
This is Tecmo Super Bowl: Gold.

I started working on this Legends-themed ROM back in March.  I delayed the release of this ROM for the simple fact that around the time of the originally planned debut, a glut of other "Legends" ROMs burst onto the scene as well.  So as not to (a) get lost in the shuffle or (b) take away from the spotlight of other modders, I pulled my work.

This delay allowed me to fine-tune this ROM into what I would consider the "gold-standard" of Legends edits (hence, the "Gold" title) previously established by my past Convergence ROMs.

Each team is comprised of the greatest players in franchise history, whether it's based on talent, records, or the impact they left on the team (Players like Tim Tebow and Kordell Stewart are included for the latter reasons).  In addition to the team rosters, the All-Pro rosters have been edited to contain the greatest players in the history of the National Football League.

I've combed over this ROM obsessively.  If there are any errors, please let me know.

    Enjoy!

All of the rosters, statistics, ratings, and one team's uniform colors have been updated from the original NES game.

The twelve teams included are: San Francisco Giants, Los Angeles Dodgers, Atlanta Braves, Chicago Cubs, St. Louis Cardinals, New York Yankees, Minnesota Twins, Oakland Athletics, Texas Rangers, Boston Red Sox, Detroit Tigers, and Toronto Blue Jays.  All of the teams from the original game carried over to this updated version, except for the New York Mets who were changed to the Yankees.

The information found in a handful of forum threads made this update.  What wasn't available in the forums, through trial and error I stumbled through and figured out.

When comparing this to the original version of Bad News Baseball, this game does seem to provide a lot of offense.  Keeping the opposing team in single digit runs is a great feat.  My explanation for this that Bad News Baseball is a game played on the field by children (likely Little Leaguers).  Bad News Baseball 2017 replaces those children with grown-up Major League men.  When you put adults on a Little League field, most certainly balls are going to fly out of the ballpark.

In the year 2070, the supreme emperor of the NFL Universe, Jerry Jones, traveled through time and space and started collecting football teams from various timelines and kept them stored safely inside of unbreakable snow globes. After his collection had grown to immense proportions, he released the teams onto a football field that was locked away in a completely different timeline to see what would happen. Emperor Jerry was embarking on his very own live-action game of Fantasy Football.

Looking past the dramatic presentation, this is a ROM modification of Tecmo Super Bowl III for the SNES featuring the rosters of the greatest teams of each team's history. This isn't an All-Star game where Terry Bradshaw will throw touchdown passes to Hines Ward, but it is a hypothetical "what if" game where you can see who would win if the 1975 Pittsburgh Steelers were to ever take the field against the 1989 San Francisco 49ers or the undefeated 1972 Miami Dolphins against the undefeated 2007 New England Patriots.

According to some random guy on Twitter, this is the most important modification in the history of Tecmo Bowl!

After what seemed like endless delays, Tecmo Super Bowl: NCAA 2017 is finally here!

As seen in the screen-shots, each team has its helmet included on their respective Team Data and Versus screens.

If you recently downloaded my 2016 version of this ROM, you might find that this one is a little more finely tuned.  Ratings and simdata have been fine-tuned so that end-of season leaders are reflected accurately vis-a-vis their real-life counterparts.

In keeping with accuracy, the schedule has been reduced to 12 games, with the final week before the playoffs being set as "Rivalry Week."

The lineup of teams is 96.875% identical (to 2016), with the only difference being the inclusion of Houston, replacing Kansas State.

There are 32-teams in this ROM.  The 32 teams are divided into the following eight conferences (Note: I took the liberty to "realign" some of the conferences):

    ACC
    Pittsburgh
    Clemson
    Florida State
    Miami

    Happy Friday!

This is the 3rd seasonal release of Ken Griffey Presents: Major League Baseball 2017.  If you enjoyed 2015 and 2016, you'll love 2017!

The game-play and everything else carries over from the previous versions.  There is one major difference from the previous versions: the Homerun Derby.  In 2015, the Derby retained the original participants (Nick Noheart, Can O'Corn, etc).  In 2016, these were replaced with baseball legends like Hank Aaron and Babe Ruth.  In 2017, these have been replaced by the participants in last season's MLB Homerun Contest (Giancarlo Stanton, Adam Duvall, Corey Seager, Mark Trumbo, and Todd Frazier).

Also, I did change up a few of my formulas to (hopefully) closer represent their respective players, namely pitcher speed and control.

    Enjoy!

Baron von Lector got a reaction from Tunnelrunner for a file, Ken Griffey's Winning Run 2016
    It's heeeere!

This is the 2016 edition of the sequel to the SNES's Ken Griffey Presents: Major League Baseball.  The rosters are based on the ones that I used for last season's Ken Griffey Presents 2016, which are based on the opening-day rosters from the 2016 season.

For those unfamiliar, Winning Run is a different ball-game from the original.  It's more simulation, less arcade.  In many areas, it improves on many facets that Presents accomplished.

For starters, it expands on Presents' season stat tracking.  Now, not only is your team's stats tracked through the season, but the rest of the league, as well.  And to compliment this, there are sortable league leaders screens, as well.

Also, something new to Winning Run is the ability to trade players.  So, while this is a 2016 game, you can trade players with other teams and keep your rosters updated for multiple season.  Please note, this doesn't rule out future 2017 or further releases.

Oh, did I mention that all THIRTY MLB teams are here?  In order to unlock the two expansion Tampa and Arizona teams, you must complete a season (not sure if it HAS to be 162 games or not).

I also updated the All-Star team (something not done in previous Griffey updates) and all eight Homerun Derby rosters (something not done until later releases).

I updated as many fine details as I could get my hands on to make this look as "official release" as possible.  I was able to change Florida, California, and Montreal to Miami, Los Angeles, and Washington, respectively.  However, I was unable to change the logo of the Washington Nationals.  So, while the standings and team-select might read "Washington," there is still an Expos logo hanging around.  Nothing game-breaking.

    Enjoy!

    10 Games.
Actual dates from 1970 of actual games played and then I filled each teams schedule to get to 10 games.
USC and LSU have 8 actual games.
    Post Season
    2 Bowl Games
Rose Bowl (Big 10 Champs vs Pac 8 Champs)
Sugar Bowl (Big 8 or Independent Champ vs SWC or SEC Champ)
    Winners Play in Tecmo Bowl
Thanks to Carther as I copied his 1966 NFL rom to get the postseason.
    Misc.
    Accurate 1970 Conferences.
Complete accurate rosters for all teams.
Sim data is updated to reflect what happened in 1970.
I can't do helmets so I just blanked them all out.
Intro Screen shows Jim Plunkett Heisman Trophy, Steve Worster All-American, Jim Stillwagon Outland Trophy
All screens and field updated to show 1970, CFB, NCAA, Rose Bowl, Sugar Bowl, or Conference.
Updated Uniforms for each team. One team in white jerseys every game.
All teams are based on TSB teams from Original rom so it plays like the Original rom.
    Be aware
Alabama and Georgia do not appear in SEC standings or on any leader board. You can see their stats and record on Team Data page only. They also can not appear in the Postseason.
The Battery Pack does not work on this rom. If you want to save a season you must create a save state.

Thanks to Carther whose amazing 1966-69 NFL and Baron VL with his historic RBI roms inspired me to do this.
    I hope to create more.

Baron von Lector got a reaction from CaptHawk for a file, Tecmo Super Bowl 1977
