  1. Two creative writing assignments, sixteen hours. Aaaaand, go!

  2. Happy "Pretend to be Irish so you have an excuse to drink" day! #StPatricksDay

  3. You're welcome. I just re-uploaded a slightly modified copy of the ROM. For some reason, the head that I had picked out for Tim Howard, the USA goalie, kept exploding into glitch-mush every time he went near the ball. I think the problem is fixed. UPDATE: Howard keeps glitching. Doesn't affect gameplay, just a visual thing. I'll work on it this weekend. UPDATE 2: Fixed the exploding Tim Howard glitch.
  4. I've taken the Konami soccer game "International Superstar Soccer Deluxe" and updated the rosters and kits to those that are accurate as of the 2014 World Cup. Of the original 36 teams, maybe half of them actually participated in the 2014 World Cup, so for those teams that didn't have a World Cup team, I updated them to their most current roster. Of all the ROMs I've submitted to this site ("RBI 3 - 2015 Spring Training Edition" and "Tecmo Super Bowl 1977"), this is the one that I'm the most pleased with. Enjoy! 5. RT @TheRobBrownShow: "Up Too Late Sports" is on the web. Check out your mediocre alternative to bad local sports talk here! https://t.co/vx…

  6. I did an update. Some cosmetic, others impacting gameplay: A lot of the players' positions were incorrect. They are now correct. Corrected a few player name typos (Ender Inciarte, Andrew McCutchen, J.D. Martinez). Francisco Rodriguez is the new Brewers' closer, replacing Rob Wooten. Increased the running speed of a handful of players, mainly those that were ranked high in 2014 in stolen bases and triples if they were already too low (from approximately 130ish to 150/60ish).
  7. If I am not mistaken... Down while pitching is fastball, up is slider, and moving left and right curves it. Watching the simulations earlier today, I saw Yu Darvish throw a 106 MPH fastball. Tomorrow at work, I'll be playing around with it and maybe making some pitching beef-ups. Once I'm 100% satisfied with the final product and MLB's starting lineups are cemented for the 2015 season, I'll release an "Opening Day" edition.
  8. Thank you. I've been running "Watch" games all day at work to see if I need to adjust any numbers, such as beefing up the pitching. First game, the Yankees beat the Red Sox 18-15 which lead me think an adjustment might be needed, but a few games later the Pirates beat the Mets 4-2. Results are inconclusive.
  9. Using Brahm's RibEye3 Modifier and MLB.com's depth charts, I present the 2015 Spring Training Edition of RBI Baseball 3. All 30 MLB teams are featured with current rosters (according to MLB.com, could change after Opening Day) with 2014's stats. Most player ratings were determined by the stats from the previous season, however, I had to "grandfather" some ratings for the sake of accuracy (typically because injuries or suspensions). For example, Alex Rodriguez was suspended for the 2014 season, so his stat line read .000 AVG, 0 HR for 2014. Alex Rodriguez is not a 0/.000 player, so I rated him according to previous seasons (.275/25). Other players, such as CC Sabathia and Josh Hamilton, received similar treatments. EDIT: I removed this ROM because I have uploaded a newer version with the opening day rosters at the following thread: http://tecmobowl.org/topic/64581-rbi-baseball-3-2015-opening-day/?p=438290
  10. It's the Wrestlemania before Wrestlemania! http://t.co/Xu1lnNKAVC

  11. Almost nine years late to the game, but... Holy jeebus, this is amazing! Dusto dusted off this link for me. No pun intended.
  12. @Dusto Thank you! The only reason I was going for the original Tecmo Bowl is because I thought it might be easier to reduce 12 teams down to 8, as opposed to 28. I didn't know this existed. Downloading it now. Follow up: Holy jeebus, that was amazing! Thank you for sharing that. Definitely more work and quality put in that I would be able to do.
  13. I have a huge request. Because my hex editing skills are non-existent, I am limited in what I am able to do in terms of editing ROMs. I have this idea to create an XFL Tecmo Rom (the defunct league that lasted one season in 2001). However, there were only 8 teams in the league. If I were to do the roster editing for the ROM, is there somebody that is able to knock off the last four teams and make them unselectable? I am going to be using the original Tecmo Bowl ROM.
  14. While digging around, I did stumble upon keithisgood's updates and was impressed at what I saw when I downloaded the updates. The addition of the logos is much more than I'm capable of doing at the moment. Sad to say, due to my lack of hex-editing knowledge, the extent of my abilities is what an editor allows me to do. I sent Mr. Turd a message yesterday about acquiring the editor and he informed me that there will be a current Tecmo Bowl ROM in the works.
  15. I like the second link you've listed. Is there an editor that can be used to update this ROM, or do I have to be a proficient in hex editing to change it?
  16. Oh? I know of (and have downloaded frequently) the TSB version, but was unaware of the TB version. Point me to this treasure?
  17. I'm not sure if this has been done, but I created an updated version of the 1988 Tecmo Bowl (not Tecmo Super Bowl) and updated it with teams and players from the past 2014 season. Because the original ROM has only twelve teams in it, I used the twelve teams from the most recent NFL Playoffs (Indianapolis, Carolina, New England, Denver, Seattle, Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, Baltimore, Dallas, Green Bay, Detroit, and Arizona). I used the ESPN.com rosters and depth charts for updating the in-game rosters. To update the ROM, I used the Tecmo Bowl Manager program. Tecmo Bowl 2014.nes
  18. Thank you for pointing out my oversight. When I was doing research for the year to replicate, I was scrolling through various standings in the 70's, looking for the first year that Tampa showed up in the NFC. Before now, I was completely unaware that (1) Tampa ever played in the AFC, and (2) Seattle was in the NFC before playing in the AFC. It looks like between 1976 and 1977, Tampa and Seattle swapped conferences.
  19. After running through a few season simulations, I realize I'm going to have to do a lot of attribute adjusting. Originally, I upgraded/downgraded original players appropriately (Merril Hoge upgraded to Franco Harris numbers, Barry Sanders downgraded to whoever the Lions' running back was in 1977). What I'm going to do is establish a baseline "normal" for each position and adjust everybody accordingly. Then, I will upgrade everybody based on their performance over their career and that season (Pro Bowl, statistic leaders, Hall-of-Famers, etc.). The Colts, Cowboys, and Steelers were repeatedly performing too poorly for this to be an accurate sim.
  20. I have created Tecmo Bowl 1977 for the NES emulator. I chose this year because it was the first year that Tampa Bay was in the NFL, thus rounding out the 28 teams, so I was able to use the original ROM. I used http://www.pro-football-reference.com for roster information and adjusted stats as needed. I plan on working on a 1984 and a 1987 version of the ROM, soon. UPDATE: I've done an overhaul on the player ratings. To begin, I established a "Baseline" score (based on an average player, such as Merril Hoge for RB's) for all positions and "Elite" (based on an elite player, like Rod Woodson for DB's). I then adjusted all players to the "baseline". I then went through the list of Hall of Famers that were playing during the 1977 season. If a player was later enshrined in the Hall of Fame, I adjusted that player to "Elite" level. Then, I went through the list of players who were elected to the Pro Bowl. If a player was on the list, I added +6 to their appropriate stats (RS, MS, REC for Receivers; Pass Speed/Control/Accuracy for Quarterbacks, etc). I also looked at the statistical leaders for 1977. If a players was listed in the top 10 for QB Rating, Rushing Yards, Receiving Yards or Receptions, or Interceptions I added +6 to all categories. Finally, I made any specific adjustment that might be needed, such as giving Ken Stabler a little more running skill than the average Quarterback. @BaronVonLector Tecmo Super Bowl 1977.nes
