  1. I sit at work and wait for something to happen. I work as a flight test engineer for the Air Force. If there's no testing going on, then I'm free to create. From start to finish, I can knock out a ROM in about three hours if I go uninterrupted.
  2. ...and the onslaught continues. This ROM is based on the 1952 baseball season. The teams included are the Brooklyn Dodgers, New York Yankees, Cleveland Indians, New York Giants, St. Louis Cardinals, Chicago White Sox, Philadelphia Phillies, Philadelphia Athletics, Washington Senators, and St. Louis Browns. 3. Here is an RBI Baseball ROM based on the 1977 season. The teams included are the Kansas City Royals, New York Yankees, Philadelphia Phillies, Los Angeles Dodgers, Baltimore Orioles, Boston Red Sox, Pittsburgh Pirates, Texas Rangers, Cincinnati Reds, and Minnesota Twins. 4. @TheFes Crap, you're right. I hope this is the only ROM in which I overlooked this. He appears in 3 or 4 of the ROMs I've uploaded to this site. EDIT: ...and corrected. Turns out he only appeared one other ROM (1977) and he was in his proper left-handed stance.
  5. RT @TecmoGodfather: If you have been enjoying the recent influx of RBI baseball roms, they have been coming from @baronvonlector https://t.…

  6. Per request, here's the 1985 edition of RBI Baseball. It is brought to you, unknowingly, by George Brett. The teams featured are the Kansas City Royals, California Angels, St. Louis Cardinals, Detroit Tigers, New York Yankees, New York Mets, Los Angeles Dodgers, Chicago White Sox, Cincinnati Reds, and the Toronto Blue Jays. 7. I have no clue how to change the stadium. The best I can do is change the grass and dirt color with the tools I've been given.
  8. @TecmoSuperFan I'll make 1985 the next one. It was actually on my short list of next years to make. I think the reason that I hadn't made 1985 already is because I made a 1986 one recently. The teams that I will put on the ROM are: St. Louis, Toronto, NY Mets, NY Yankees, Los Angeles, Kansas City, California, Cincinnati, Chicago White Sox, and either the Detroit Tigers or Montreal Expos. 9. As if spamming the Other Games board with historic RBI ROMs wasn't enough, here's one based on the Nippon Pro Japan baseball league. The top ten (out of twelve) teams are represented: Fukuoka Softbank Hawks, Orix Buffaloes, Hokkaido Nippon Ham Fighters, Chiba Lotte Marines, Saitama Seibu Lions, Yomiuri Giants, Hanshin Tigers, Hiroshima Carp, Chunichi Dragons, and Yokohama Bay Stars. 10. @Maynard No, but with all the 40+ HR players that year, and resulting increased power numbers in the ROM, you'd think there was a perpetual "Roid Mode" option on the entire time.
  11. This ROM is based on the 1998 baseball season in which both Mark McGwire and Sammy Sosa chased down and destroyed Roger Maris’ single-season homerun record. The teams included are the New York Yankees, Atlanta Braves, Houston Astros, San Diego Padres, Boston Red Sox, Chicago Cubs, Cleveland Indians, San Francisco Giants, Texas Rangers, and St. Louis Cardinals. http://BaronROMS.wordpress.com RBI Baseball 1998.nes
  12. As a complete 180 to the low homerun production on this ROM, I created a 1998 ROM this afternoon that features Sammy Sosa and Mark McGwire shattering Roger Maris' single season homerun record. I'll post it tomorrow from work. In the mean time, you can get it from my historic ROMs website BaronROMS.wordpress.com.
  13. The ten teams featured on this ROM are the Chicago White Stockings, St. Louis Browns, Detroit Wolverines, Pittsburgh Alleghenys, New York Giants, Brooklyn Greys, Philadelphia Quakers, Louisville Colonels, Boston Beaneaters, and the Cincinnati Red Stockings. Being just before the Deadball Era, I don't expect offense to be as explosive as previous ROMs (only 3 players had more than 10 HR's, with the leader being Dan Brouthers and Hardy Richardson at 11). Also, in keeping with authenticity with the era, I increased pitcher stamina to 250% of standard ROMs (from usually 40 to 100). The reason being is that if you were to look at pitching numbers from the time, it is extremely common to see starting pitchers with 50 games started, and completing all of them while maintaining an ERA of less than 3.50. So, I want to see the starting pitchers make it through the entire game. RBI Baseball 1886.nes
  14. @MvG Thank you! New York is pretty stacked in this ROM. With Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig having 107 HR's between the two of them, they have more than any other team combined with the exception of the Giants (109), and that's just barely.
  15. I'm amazed at the number of people that write in to the @EdShow that are able to functionally use a computer.

  16. @Knobbe That gives me an idea. Since it is, ultimately, my goal to create a complete collection of historic RBI Baseball games, perhaps I could "sponsor" them in the same way Ken Griffey did on the SNES. On that note, my 1886 ROM could be "Cap Anson's 1886 RBI Baseball." And speaking of Old Hoss, he is the ace on the ROM's Boston Beaneaters team.
  17. ...and the historic ROMs continue. 1961 is best known as the year that Roger Maris went berserk on Major League pitching. I deviated from my usual formula of picking the top ten teams, as I went with teams 1 through 9, then 11. Basically I swapped out the Cleveland Indians with the Pittsburgh Pirates because (i) nobody cares about the Cleveland Indians, and (ii) I didn't want to omit Robert Clemente and Bill Mazeroski. 18. Thanks, again. I see some colors I might play around with. I've decided to go with a 1961 ROM that will likely be out today. After that, I'm going to attempt a sepia-toned 18XX ROM with Cap Anson being the central point. EDIT: I experimented with some of the colors to try and create a sepia-ish appearance to no avail. Players looked like they were playing in a bowl of pea-soup. I'll likely go with a black and white appearance for th 1886 ROM.
  19. Thank you. I'm entertaining the idea of working with some sepia tones for some pre-1900 ROMs. May or may not, depends on the range of browns I have to work with.
  20. That's interesting, and completely intentional. lol I don't have much knowledge of hex editing outside of what the editors allow me to do. I'm just taking full advantage of Nightwulf's great editor and creating a library of historic baseball ROMs. My next project will be either 1901 or 1961. No clue why the ball exploded in the way that it did, nor would I know what to do if I did know the reason. I guess as long as the game doesn't go wonky during regular plays, I'm okay with it. BaronROMS.wordpress.com
  21. Ack, I never noticed that. Berserk to the point of having to reset? EDIT: I'm thinking/hoping it's an isolated incident. I'm trying to duplicate the berserk and having no luck. Charlie Gehringer just fouled off three straight pitches for the CPU, then both Lou Gehrig and Tony Lazzeri both fouled off a couple without incident. EDIT 2: Okay, it's official. Babe Ruth broke RBI Baseball. He just fouled off a pitch and the crowd momentarily went glitchtastic. Doesn't affect game play. Is this the berserk you were talking about?
  22. Using Nightwulf's editor, Baseball-Reference.com, and Tengen's formula of using the year's top teams, I present RBI Baseball '27. To keep with authenticity, the game is in black and white. Enjoy! BaronROMS.wordpress.com RBI Baseball 1927.nes
