  1. I am currently working on an 8-bit to 16-bit conversion of this ROM, and after reviewing a lot of the data in this ROM, I've realized that it's a flaming pile of garbage. I would say "Eh, it's okay for a first ROM." It's not. Jersey numbers are wrong, I'm sure some of the ratings are bloated. I know the simdata is off, as well. So, while working on the conversion, I'm looking to correct every jersey and simdata. In fact, using the data from the original TSB, I'm going to create a linear regression calculator similar to my RBI Baseball ratings calculator that determines simdata based on the players' previous season's statistics.
  2. When I was younger, I owned the Barry Foster and Deion Sanders posters.
  3. This ROM is the 1984 edition of Tecmo Super Bowl for the SNES. I used Tecmo_Bot’s 1984 8-bit ROM as a baseline. I then corrected player names (depth chart and spelling), jersey numbers, race, player ratings, and simdata. Because of the changes, Eric Dickerson will rush for (or at least come close to) 2,100 yards, just like he did in 1984. Also, Miami and San Francisco (the year’s Super Bowl participants) usually finish at the top of their respective divisions. A lot of tweaking was involved to make the ROM mirror the 1984 season as closely as possible. Also, included with this ROM (below the download link) is the .srm file that you save in the same directory as the .smc file (the ROM) so that the Pro-Bowl rosters are the same as 1984’s. DOWNLOAD .srm file for correct Pro Bowl rosters. Tecmo Super Bowl 1984.smc
  4. This ROM is based on the 2012 Major League Baseball season and features the top 10 teams of the year: Washington Nationals, Cincinnati Reds, New York Yankees, San Francisco Giants, Oakland Athletics, Atlanta Braves, Texas Rangers, Baltimore Orioles, Tampa Bay Rays, and the Detroit Tigers. My goal is to eventually have an RBI ROM for every year in existence. This is the 19th ROM, so far. Roster information RBI Baseball 2012.nes
  5. @TecmoSuperFan - I'm curious now. I might have to look into the Genesis version now.
  6. It's funny now, because the reactions are different. My kids would probably say the same thing, but it would be in the sense of, "Ugh, my dad plays Tecmo. That game is so pixely."
  7. It's funny. At work here, we play Tecmo on a Wii that I modded during lunch time. It's amazing how many of our younger engineers have never played the game before now. I feel like slapping their parents.
  8. What is this Coack K editing you say? If there's an editor for it, I'd love to get my hands on it. Being a hardcore Syracuse fan, I've been wanting to play around with some college basketball. I wanted to convert Tecmo NCAA into a college game using the available editor, but the NBA team logos looking me in the face and the inability to change the names on the team-select screen turned me away from it.
  9. @TecmoSuperFan - I've thought of doing some Genesis work, but I can't think of any reason to, other than the reason "because I can." What video capture program did you use for that video?
  10. @TecmoSuperFan - I fixed Reggie White's jersey number. No clue how it became mislabeled. @eddydeanclassic - I've entertained the idea of doing a 2015/16 ROM on the SNES, but there's at least six problems with trying it. Those problems are the Baltimore Ravens, Houston Oilers and Texans, Tennessee Titans, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Carolina Panthers. I've even thought of doing a ROM using Tecmo Super Bowl 3 for the SNES, but that only gets rid of the Jacksonville and Carolina problems.
  11. I noticed the swap in Running Speed and Rushing Power when I was taking the Christian Okoye screenshots. I swapped 'em back so that it matched the NES version. I then went through and swapped it on every other player in the game.
  12. @mfrazier Link fixed. https://baronroms.wordpress.com/2015/05/15/tecmo-super-bowl-updated-nes/
  13. @mfrazier Crap, I didn't realize it wasn't a .nes file, already. Lemme find out what's going on... UPDATE: I'll have to re-upload it tomorrow at work.
  14. @brandonj47 Thanks! @mfrazier87 You mean like this? https://baronroms.wordpress.com/category/tecmo-super-bowl-updated-nes/ (no grapple hack)
  15. This is my most ambitious project to date. Using the TSBToolSupreme editor, I have created an 8-bit NES to 16-bit SNES conversion of the original Tecmo Super Bowl. Not only have I updated the rosters and ratings, but I've changed the schedule and all of the sim data so that this plays completely faithful to the original, from games against the CPU to full-season simulations. After it was complete, I ran a series of side-by-side season simulations and the two version (NES and SNES) for the most part agreed with one another as far as end-of-season division results and statistic leaders. I did take the liberty of making a few modifications, however. The changes are: Changed QB Browns (CLE) to Bernie Kosar Changed QB Bills (BUF) to Jim Kelly Changed QB Eagles (PHI) to R.Cunningham Replaced Richard Bell (PIT) with Barry Foster Replaced Ivy Joe Hunter (IND) with Eric Dickerson Swapped Warren Williams' (PIT) and Tim Worley's (PIT) spot on the Steelers' depth chart I did hit a couple of minor snags, however. I was unable to update the Pro Bowl rosters within the ROM. Except for the fact that Merril Hoge is the starting running back for the AFC, the rosters are still Pro Bowl-worthy. On a personal note, as a fan of the Steelers, I think that Bubby Brister just might be the worst quarterback in the history of Tecmo Bowl. I forget how many times he overthrew a wide-open Louis Lipps or threw the ball out of bounds while trying to capture the screenshots below. Tecmo Super Bowl 16 Bit.smc
  16. Is it true that @feliciaday will be playing the role of Janet in the Rocky Horror Picture Show television movie? If not, she should.

  17. I've seen them, but without an editor I'm not of much use. I've searched, but no luck.
  18. Ah, didn't know about the quarterback competition with McNabb. Tough competition.
  19. This ROM is based on the 1924 Major League Baseball season and features the top 12 teams of the year: New York Giants, Washington Senators, Brooklyn Robins, New York Yankees, Pittsburgh Pirates, Detroit Tigers, Cincinnati Reds, St. Louis Browns, Chicago Cubs, and Philadelphia Athletics. Although a small detail, this is the first yearly RBI Baseball ROM in which I used three initials in the team names instead of the traditional two (example: PIT instead of just PT). Roster information RBI Baseball 1924.nes
  20. Syracuse's top receivers in 1992 were Qadry and Chris Gedney. As far as the rest of the teams, it's a who's-who in 1990's NFL superstardom. CHECK OUT the rosters for teams 1-12 at the end of the year.
  21. I restarted it with the adjusted numbers. At the time of the restart Team 2000 was ranked #1 with a record of 9-0, sweeping Team 1910, 1920, and 1930 in 3 game sets.
  22. Nice one. This is almost motivation to make more just to see what you'll come up with. The next college one I'll be making is (I think) 1992, because that's the last year that Syracuse finished in the top 25. I thought they would have finished in the top 12 sometime between 1995 and 1998 with both Donovan McNabb and Marvin Harrison on the roster. That's okay, though... Marvin Graves and Qadry Ismail are just as good. 51-0? Ouch!
  23. Dungeons & Dragons NBA Finals, make it happen! #WARRIORSvsWIZARDS

  24. In an effort to cure the game of 30-27 slug-fests, I replaced the ball with one that doesn't carry as much as the previous and replaced the aluminum bats with wooden ones. In a current sim, Team 2000 is only defeating Team 1910 by a score of 6-5 in the 5th inning.
