  1. A massive thank you to everyone that came out and played in the tourney. We had a lot of new guys come out and it was great to see the nostalgia in their eyes and discover this Tecmo community they didn't know existed. And having some Tecmo legends come as well really rounded out the tourney. Congrats to Matt Vogt on the win! Kind of crazy you almost didn't come out and ended up winning the whole thing. Thanks to Derek for your help in a myriad of ways. Brad for those mad PR skills. Kevin Cabarello and Phil C for showing up early and unexpectedly helping us set up. That was seriously awesome. And all of the above for helping with the pool/bracket debacle that happened. Chris Vogt and the Tecmo Godfather himself for the retweets and promotion on Twitter. You guys rock! Finally, to the guys behind Tecmo Madison. Without what you guys have done up there in Wisconsin, we most likely wouldn't have had this small, little tourney in Indy to run. I deeply appreciate allowing us to use your base to build upon. The respect I now have for what you guys have done, and do each year, is unparalelled. Thank you. We had a few rough spots but I think it was a pretty good success overall. Something definitely to build on for next year. We will work on smoothing out the rough spots, adding in some really cool ideas we have cooking, and continue to build a really awesome tourney for all of you to hopefully visit one day. You guys really do need to come and try the brews at Books&Brews. Brad's not lying about that Apricot Wheat craft brew. It's unbelievable! Thanks again for everything guys and hope to see you guys at one of our events in the future! Long live Tecmo!
  2. Brad - By all means. Advertise away. Thank you for all the tweets you sent out this morning.
  3. Yeah, everyone will be in the double elimination tournament bracket. We are using pool play before hand to determine seeding into the bracket. And to be able to guarantee more games for everyone attending. Since it's our first year and we aren't looking at an absolute ton of attendees, I saw no reason to exclude anyone from the bracket. If you do want to attend, but are unable to make the pool play before hand, you will just be seeded at the bottom.
  4. Kevin - Looking forward to having you attend! As far as equipment, we are good to go. I greatly appreciate your offer though. If anything comes up, I will let you know for sure.
  5. As I stated on Twitter earlier today, I credit the Madison staff with inspiring all aspects of the Indy tournament. Without your tournament, ours would perhaps not exist. However, I gave no "attribution" for the name because, as unlikely as it may seem, I came up with it on my own. I was not aware that list existed on your website until this morning when you tweeted it out, and additionally, posted it here. I saw the name you used for the past Madison tournament and thought it was a brilliant idea. Before I announced our tournament, I pulled the Colts roster and spent an evening searching for names. If I could have saved myself the time and effort and just used one of yours and given you credit or asked permission, I would have. I will apologize for using your tournament as a direct inspiration for ours and for trying to incorporate similar themes into ours. I will also apologize for copying your rules and for not requesting "permission" to do so. I have removed the tournament name from all media, as well as, the Madison rule set from our website and tournament. Further more, I will research your website fully and refrain from using any information contained on it in our tournament and media in the future.
  6. The website has been updated with a few things. Start time has been moved back one hour to 2 pm.
  7. One month to go! We are at 13 registered right now. I have two more pending. No huge announcements at the moment. I will be updating the site tonight hopefully with a few updates and some additional details.
  8. Tournament date has been moved to June 20th. Everyone signed up so far is fine with it and verified with the owner of B&B that the 20th is open and held for us now.
  9. I'll check with the guys that are registered so far and see what they say. Will have to verify availability with the owner of B&B as well. I think we are okay equipment wise. Derek has graciously came on board and offered his 6 systems/games/tvs. I have 2 of each so far and a buddy has 1-2 systems as well. I figure 10 stations should be good expecting 20-30 sign ups. Will see where we are in another month or so and let you know if we have additional needs. I really appreciate you offering.
  10. For those that want to attend but can't because of the date, I have the option of adjusting it back a week or forward to a week or two after. I wouldn't move it and cause those who have signed up to be unable to attend. But if it causes no issues with those signed up, and another date would enable a greater attendance, I'd by all means consider changing the date.
  11. Thanks for registering and for helping to spread the word guys. Much appreciated. And Knobbe, that original thread lead me to contacting the owner and ultimately choosing them as our host location. So thank you.

  13. Hi everyone. I'm Dan and I live around Indianapolis, IN. I got hooked to Tecmo Bowl when I got the original as a gift when I was 9. And it continued on with TSB. I have played on and off for years but just discovered this community and all the online/in-person tournaments. Really blew my mind when I found out all this exists! Looking forward to joining in with all the fun.
