  1. Week 2 VS Dolphins: This game was far more lopsided than the final score indicated, as the Fins scored a couple of garbage time TDs to make it not a blowout. The offense did what it had to do, with the dynamic duo running all over the field and catching passes, and the line did a wonderful job of blocking. The receivers had a couple of frustrating drops though. The defense held Dan Marino and Co. down for most of the game. However, it's pretty frustrating when my DB is in perfect position to make a pick, and Marino somehow threads the ball through 2 guys for a big play. Tony Paige had a long run that seemed to take up half of the fourth quarter.
  2. I didn't do any research beforehand. I just threw together some ratings in my head that sounded nice and rolled with it. That looks like a 38 MS kind of back.
  3. Week 1 VS Patriots: This was a very easy win. On offense, the plan was simple: Run the ball down the Pats throats, and pass to Bentley and Dickerson when necessary. In this offense, the WRs and TE (lol) won't be catching a lot of passes, but when they do, it will be for huge chunks of yardage once of twice a game. This is because Jeff George is pretty much garbage, so I want to limit the amount of possibly intercepted passes to as few as possible. So I'll be running the Alex Smith "check-down and hand off to the backs" offense. And when you've got Dickerson and Bentley, that kind of plan can work. This game, the offense did whatever it wanted to the hapless men in pink. On defense, they were able to hold them to minimal effectiveness, except for a few pointless runs at the end of the game. And there was that one touchdown where Grogan launched a rainbow in Irving Fryar's vicinity, and Fryar channeled his inner Randy Moss, jumping into the air and snatching the ball right in front of my safety. Then he preceded to cut across the field and outrun said safety into the endzone. Playing teams like the Bills and Dolphins is going to be so much fun.
  4. The Colts absolutely suck in TSB. Their defense is nonexistent, and their offense is average at best (all hail Albert Bentley). But what if the Colts had Eric Dickerson? Would the Hall-of-Famer make Indy's offense potent enough to offset their dumpster fire defense? Well, I"ve decided to see if this is the case. Using the magic known as the TSB editor, I've put Dickerson on the Colts in place of some scrub back that probably didn't even make the team in real life. Here's his stats:
  5. New England has a pretty decent playbook. Too bad that their non-Marv Cook players are radioactive garbage.
  6. And I also found this. An eagles fan has uploaded his games when he played against the eagles:
  7. I found this. There are 10 parts in all. You can find the rest on youtube:
  8. As yet another guy who has had the opportunity to watch tons of different running styles over the last 3 months, I'd like to give my two cents. While tall and powerful running backs are probably the most impressive to look at, they also seem to be the least elusive and the most mechanical in their running style (sans Dickerson and Marcus Allen, of course). Thus, a lot of those kinds of runners get in trouble when they get met in the backfield by defenders before they can build up speed, as they can't really make guys miss in small spaces. If you want a modern example, compare Christian McCafferey to Derrick Henry. Henry was much more impressive to look at, but when he got hit in the backfield, it was game over. Or for an older example, take Eddie George and compare him to Napoleon Kaufman. I may be in the minority, but I'd rather have Kaufman over George because of Kaufman's ability to make guys miss.
  9. I'm downloading all of these games from this point on so I can still use them when they get removed.
  10. The multitude of bright colors in the crowd kills my eyeballs. But I'd still play this game.
  11. @~Tailback King~ JJ's statline for the game: 24 rushes for 93 yards, 1 reception for 7 yards http://www.pro-football-reference.com/boxscores/199109220crd.htm
  12. Good. Now we (NFC North) fans don't have to listen to that awful KUUUUHHHHNNNN chant 10 times a game anymore.
  13. That's an epic cover. I can't wait to play it!
  14. @~Tailback King~ Look what I found (skip to 21:26)
  15. I ain't sitting through the whole game, but I'm sure that JJ made a few plays in it. This is from 1987, when he was utilized as more of a receiver.
  16. @~Tailback King~ Johnny Johnson makes has one reception for 13 yards in this game, according to Pro Football Reference
  17. Johnny Johnson makes an appearance at the 5:35 mark:
  18. I googled where Johnny Johnson played his college ball. He played at San Jose State, and he only got one season as the main tailback was 1988. So I youtubed "San Jose State football 1988" and came up with this. As far as I can tell, this Adam Juarez guy has uploaded the only footage of him on youtube
  19. The NFL needs to step up its game! I thought that it had tried to erase every reference to the GOAT from youtube.
  20. This is a pretty good video about one guy's experience with TSB:
  21. Good stuff. That's the kind of answer I was looking for (although @buck and @Lamefest had some good reasons too).
  22. A lot of the formations that are used in TSB are still used in real life as well (although the under center formations are slowly going away). However, I have never seen this particular one, where the QB is under center and the backs are split behind him, used in a real life game before (started watching in 2009). So could anyone explain why it went away while the others stayed?
  23. I've gotten to the Super Bowl 4 times (I always start seasons but seldom finish), and Dan Marino and the Dolphins are always waiting for me. Every. Freaking. Time.
