  1. Registration for Tundra Bowl III is now LIVE! It is limited to the first 100 players to signup, and spots will go fast! An awesome Tundra Bowl T-Shirt is thrown in when you register, while supplies last! http://retro4ever.com/tecmo-tundra-bowl-registration/ Possible shirt design for the tournament (a closer look):
  2. For those following, we are looking to open up registration this week or next...stay tuned!
  3. There is no possible date change. We are always the Saturday of Pro Bowl weekend. Sorry about the response time, I didn't see any Messages, so hopefully your dates change to be up here for that. If not, just hit me, Coco, or any number of Wisconsinites and we'd be willing to get together for some Tecmo on the side. We hope to have you up here for Tundra Bowl, if not this upcoming one, then in the future. A side note to those following...official registration will open in the next month or so, with a definitive date announced as soon as we have one nailed down. We are only opening up 100 spots this year, and expect it to fill up fast with the media coverage and word of mouth. Stay tuned!!
  4. I've contacted Sports Illustrated to at least procure the citation of the websites or authors involved with the creation of this game. We'll see whether or not they respond or comply with the request.
  5. I've already begun trying to convince the wife that I need to attend, for the sake of the Tecmo community. Good thing I've got an awesome wife that understands such important matters. I'd say I'm 50/50 at this point.
  6. Thanks. Yeah, we hope to nail down some more local media leading up to the tournament again. I felt that it was pretty solid of them to come around and promote our tourney. The newspaper reporter and cameraman from Fox 11 were pretty familiar with the game, and we had some good side conversations with them. Any publicity having to do with Tecmo Super Bowl helps us all by bringing attention to it, so hopefully more come out to do a story on Tundra Bowl III in January.
  7. We're looking forward to having you up again for the tourney. Shaun's still steaming over the Round of 64 loss to you in Madison, and wants another shot at you. Always seems to be a tight game when you two play like in Tundra Bowl I.

  9. I started a new Google Spreadsheet for keeping track of who is staying where. Please feel free to edit/change as you see fit. Hopefully this helps keep track of people, and where games are being played. Tecmo XI: Where are you staying
  10. Done and done. It's a working draft, anyone can feel free to edit or add/edit categories. I'll also post to new thread. Tecmo XI: Where are you staying?
  11. Posted our podcast wrapping Tundra Bowl, and previewing Tecmo Madison. Warning - it's mostly geared to the R4E crew and their shot at taking home the trophy in Madison, but we name drop plenty of Madison participants in the show. Not nearly as in-depth as what the Tecmo Talk (great show) guys did this week, but worth a listen: Episode 46: The March to Madison
  12. I'm feeling super lazy sitting in this Masters class right now, in case this has been answered - when do we find out if we're a #1 or #2 seed (or unranked) in our group?
  13. So, dumb questions. Which Super 8 is best to go get some games in on Friday? Where is it located? And can anyone drop in, even if we're not Super 8 stayees? We're staying over on Fish Hatchery Rd, neighbor to The Great Dane, same as last year for the R4E Crew.
  14. It's something we have done for our tourney (Tundra Bowl Stats), but only have the data compiled on which matchups they called, or what teams they decided when given a certain matchup. Not sure how it would factor in without giving teams a certain strength rating, which is all subjective. It's something for me to ponder over the next 11 months since I'm a stats geek.
  15. We have also taken into consideration the friends/family aspect for Tundra Bowl, but we only had 49 people to try and orchestrate that with, not 250+. Of course though, Madison does it right, and it's always the measuring stick for any TSB tourney. Everyone appreciates the effort that goes into it, especially those that have run their own tournaments. There is an incredible amount of work that goes into even the smaller tourneys, and there is nothing but respect for those that can do it successfully.
  16. #15 - I have a long ways to go, but am honored to be in the preview for the top 64. Looking forward to the tournament with it being only two weeks away; lots of sharpening to do by then.
  17. I have uploaded pics of the groups and brackets to a shared folder for your viewing pleasure. Group and Bracket Pics Don't mind the wrinkled bracket; Troy decided it would be a great idea to make the paper smell better, and proceeded to spill beer all over it. I'd say it was a success.
  18. Here are the two other news spots we got on Fox 11 the day of the tournament: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O2XB82LZD-s https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZENJmfJP7yg
  19. I remember I was on the waitlist two years ago, probably about the sixth or seventh player out. I took the trip down anyways, and they still filled a few spots beyond my entry. If you're within that 10 or so on the waitlist, like Josh said, it's likely you'll still make it in. I encourage guys to register anyways. And I had to chuckle at your signature Josh, "2015: Worse than Orenga at Tecmo"
