  1. Ok cool. I'm 75% sure I can make it. Just need to get my ticket from SF.
  2. I disagree Chino. You definitely repped during that game for shotgun on the ride back to SF. 3 Whiskey Wilson INTs to fuel the comeback from 14-0? Classic. Yeah congrats on a hell of a run to the championship, Duke. I was hoping for another double OT classic like our first game but Hershel Squirts was too much to overcome. See you guys in August!
  3. Listed below is the format for the Phoenix tourney. Anyone play in a tournament format like this before? If so, how did it turn out? Each matchup will consist of 2 games and the same 2 teams for that matchup, with each player keeping the same team for both games. This will ensure that each player for that matchup will be able to be player 1 to make it as fair as possible. Though there will be 2 games played between 2 people, it only counts as one game in the standings. If one player wins both games, then they will be (1-0) and the loser will be (0-1). If each player wins 1 game each, we will add up the scores of the 2 games to determine the winner. If there is a tie after that, OT rules will then apply. The first round of play will consist of several groups of players which will be picked at random. All groups will have the same amount of players in it unless there is an odd number where we can not have the same number of players in each group. In this case there will be one group with an extra player in it. Each player will play everyone in their group. After the first group play is done, the top 2 players in each group will advance to the next round. If there is a tie in the standings within a group, the tiebreakers will be as followed: 1. head to head 2. point differential 3. If still tied after that, there will be OT played with normal OT rules applied The second round will consist of the top 2 players of each group. These players will then be put randomly into 2 different groups. Each player will play everyone in their group just as the first group play was. Once the second group play is complete, the top player in each group will face off for the championship. Both second place players from each group will face off for 3rd place.
  4. Here's your chance to take a shot at the Sacramento tournament champ: http://www.meetup.com/SF-Tecmo-Super-Bowl/events/107938012/ FYI - This is a regularly recurring meetup. We try and get together at least once a month in SF.
  5. Hey Donnie I just posted something on the SF Tecmo meetup page to see if anyone's interested in driving up from SF for the tourney: http://www.meetup.com/SF-Tecmo-Super-Bowl/events/105332722/ I'm definitely interested and I can probably get at least a couple more guys from here as well.
  6. If anyone in the Bay Area is looking for some Tecmo action there will be a Tecmo meetup this coming Sunday at 4 pm at Soda Popinski in the city. Meetup details can be found here: http://www.meetup.com/SF-Tecmo-Super-Bowl/events/101857022/ If you can't make it to this one we try and host a meetup at least once a month. Easiest way to keep keep tabs to join the Meetup group (it's free).
  7. Hey guys my name's Mike and I run the SF Tecmo meetup group. I'm originally from Iowa but I figured there must be some other ppl in the Bay who love Tecmo just as much as me, which is why I started the group. Anyways, the goal is to try and get together every couple of weeks to play. Maybe we'll even host a tourney some day. It's pretty open ended right now so we'll see. Most of the meetups will be on Saturday or Sunday afternoons, depending on college and NFL schedules. Knobbe - meetup.com has some traction out here in SF but I'm not sure about anywhere beyond that. One annoying aspect is that they charge a monthly fee - anywhere from $19 for 1 month to $12 a month for 6 months. Other than that it's pretty easy to setup and use. Hope to meet you in Madison someday man!
