  1. just seen the most recent signup for Madison is Andy N. (Rudy) from Shoreline, WA..... hey Rudy (whom I don't believe I've met at a PNW tourney before), if you are still living here in WA try and find me over there during the tournament (especialy Friday's event), I'll let you know about some WA tournies we're doing this year and exchange contact info. I'll prob be wearing an old school Mariners hat on backwards playing tecmo every chance I get, so if you can find me we'll play a scrim and talk it up a bit.

  2. Your instant cheatsheet...use the numbers as a ROUGH estimate. Highlighted = most in danger to miss out on the round of 64. Overall a very well balanced bracket. A few groups that could turn out to be weak but a great job by the bracketing committee!

  3. Using the SRS (simple rating system) method http://www.pro-football-reference.com/blog/?p=37 which is a purely mathmatical method. With over 400 unique competitors it makes it manageable. There are other reasonable methotds but this one is simple to calculate in excel. PF= Average points for PA= Average points against Dif = Average point differential SOSI = iterated strength of schedule PWR= Final power ranking ~= number of points a player would be favored by over an opponent with a rating of 0. Colored %= Percentile among all entrants. As we know the last three tournaments its been Chet and Regulator and everyone else. Example from Tecmo VIII Chet 29.0 vs Mort 19.2. Expected outcome Chet by 9.9. Actual outcome Chet by 7. Your top 100

  4. That was an oversight on our part, sorry about that. We've corrected it on the site.

  5. I played this with a buddy last night and we had a lot of fun. Some of the uniform usage is off a little but it just may be me being OCD. I like dark vs white jerseys all the time. PHI-DAL, NYG-IND both in white jerseys. SEA-NE, CIN-CLE both dark jerseys that are close and it's kind of annoying. I'm probably going to tweak them myself but thought I'd give you a heads up. Cool rom. Thanks for doing a post SB release!

  7. I am so happy that I have Adam aka Garbage in my group he was a riot in Green Bay. Also i intend to start drinking immediately under the theory that randomly pressing buttons is much more likely to result in victory that my current play style.

So everything you put on the internet doesn't stay there forever? Well... unless they're dick pics. Also, Beater has 13 posts in 11 years. Must be an old USFL vet.

I realize that I am probably in over my head since I have no idea how you guys are doing the things that you do, but I figure that I can at least ask and if you mock me more than the usual "first impression mocking" then I can go back into hiding under the guise of "it never happened" and and continue to not ask questions about things that I have no buisness asking about. BUT I have been checking out this site for quite some time now and realized that in your lives you play tecmo against others who enjoy it with modified teams and keep statistics. In my life I play a game from the mid 90's alone in my basement, and am in desperate need of some company, seeing as I have watched one friend after another move on to bigger and better games (and by bigger and better games, I mean jobs and wives) while I continue to enjoy the simple pleasures. One of these lives has a future. The other does not. It is up to you which one becomes a reality. I wouldn't know where to start but I would like to be a part. I have all the tecmo super bowls for all the systems but it sounds like you guys are playing on games that you created on your computers or something like that. I don't know how much of an explanation it would take to bring me up to date but I am willing to give it a go. If it is too much of a hastle to start me from scratch, then I'll just sit idle and be content to window shop. Thanks for your time.

  11. Hey Kamp!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You failed to mention the 250 plus rushing yards and 3 TD's Johnny Johnson put on you and your Cowboys in the game I beat you...I don't know if you having the spins from consuming to much alcohal had anything to do with that, but lets just pretend it didn't

All you have to do is coordinate a place and run the tourney on the day of. Everyone always brings equipment, just have us all bring the systems and games. People even can bring TVs but that you may need to try to have too. Beer is also a prerequisite for playing tecmo so helps to have it at a bar or place that is cool with the beers.

  13. All very valid points Moulds. You could switch a lot of these around and I wouldn't argue hardly at all either.

  14. And the actual sheet for those interested. EXPEC= the predicted outcome ACT= the actual outcome. BG (Brent) might hate me for this but last year loss to Ryan F stands as the biggest upset. A predicted 24 pt win for BG turned into an actual 13 point loss. Tecmomad_8_9_10.xlsx
