Maryland at #23 Texas is on now and a fun game, Terps up 44-34!  Shocking.

#11 Michigan vs #17 Florida, 330pm on ABC

JMU at ECU, 6pm on Espn3

#3 Florida State vs #1 Alabama, 8pm on ABC

Top Ten Heisman Candidates in No Particular Order:

Penn State RB Saquon Barkley

Florida State QB Deondre Francois

LSU RB Derrius Guice

Ohio State QB JT Barrett

Alabama RB Bo Scarbrough

Alabama QB Jalen Hurts

Oklahoma QB Baker Mayfield

Washington QB Jake Browning

Louisville QB Lamar Jackson

USC QB Sam Darnold

Other:

Derwin James, S, Florida State (He has no chance as a defender but he's a scary talent so if you get a chance watch him play.)

I predict Alabama gets to the National Championship and wins another one.  Roll Damn Tide.  Not that risky of a pick but they're just doing everything right.

I'm a Florida Gators fan and with all their suspensions this summer they could take a short bus to the game today.  Ludicrous.

By the way, Chris Warren's son is RB at Texas.  His dad was the RB at my high school back in the day.  I'm so old.

*Who just-engineered 35-pt comeback - starting at 2:06 left in the 3rd - against Aggies.

[Game's - "INSTANT-CLASSIC!!" (and it is) - still re-airing on "FS1," with Bruins down 24-44 at 8:40 left in the 4th, if anyone's interested]

The official CFP rankings don't get released until tomorrow, but the updated AP ranks are below.

ncaaf.thumb.png.69ecbc50b9d6834079eba3496994287b.png

Conference championship games:

ACC:  #1 CLEM vs. #7 MIA

B12:  #2 OKLA vs. #10 TCU

SEC:  #4 AUB vs. #6 UGA

B10:  #3 WISC vs. #8 OSU

It's safe to say that the Pac12 is eliminated.

It's also safe to say that if the following teams win, they are in the playoffs:  CLEM, WISC, AUB.

Here's my questions, which I don't believe have definitive answers.

1) Are there any circumstances where BAMA gets in?  Would they get in over UGA or MIA if they win?  I'd say UGA gets the nod over BAMA, but MIA would be close.  Is BAMA better than OKLA, even if OKLA wins?  OKLA got beat pretty bad and had a few other close games against not top 25 teams.  I would put BAMA in over OSU if OSU beats WISC, which leads me to...

2) If OSU wins, is that good enough to get them in?  Personally, I say no.  I'd put OKLA, BAMA, MIA, UGA all above OSU based on record and a few other factors.

3) If UGA, MIA, OSU all win... what happens?

Thoughts?

1) ALA gets in with OSU win, TCU win, MIA win or UGA win. All of which is entirely possible. WISC has no actual offense. AUB lolwut. MIA is pissed off and OU is complete garbage in a weak ass conference. If UGA wins, both they and AUB are out, provided everyone else wins out.

2) 0% OSU gets in at all. 2 Losses, 1 vs an unranked team.

3) UO, ALA, MIA & UGA are in.

Yeah I debated between putting OKL/UGA at 2/3.  Seemed like UGA should get the #2 since they defeated better teams and their loss was to a Top 10 team.  OKL lost to an unranked team and had so many close games against unranked teams.  But OKL had the higher ranking going in and it's kind of irrelevant now since they will play each other anyways.  Good to see a 2-loss OSU team didn't get in.
